I just found out two local gay artists were found murdered in their home. fuck. jesus. I knew these guys. I own their art. I've attended so many gallery openings at their shop. they've meant so much to the community here. and they're just fucking gone? just like that?
and of course the cops are claiming it's not a hate crime.

Finally Cinders has been designed!
From left to right we've got pre-war/pre-wedding day slaughter, her wedding dress, and finally during/post war.
Reasoning for design choices: For her first outfit I wanted it to be reminiscent of the rags version of cinderella in one specific version of the book that I found ages ago, while still having more regal and royal touches, like the lace, large sleeves, and corset. Her wedding dress is honestly just a classic wedding dress look, though I did originally include touches inspired by wedding dresses from the 1690's that I had to scrap due to how difficult it would be to draw consistently. For her third outfit I wanted her to have a unique colour scheme and style, separate from those of the rebels or the crown forces, which have main colours of greens & earthy neutrals, and reds & blacks, respectively. I wanted her to look put together but also worn down and like she's been doing things on her own for a while, so it's much less formal or precise in exact style like everyone else.
Also here is the comsat Cheshire from Alice since I will also be animating that once I'm done with OUATIS

Hey all, Crips for Esims for Gaza has been purchasing E-sims for people in Gaza and need help to continue their advocacy!
We link them in our Hi Nay episodes but want to remind people to help out if they can and donate! They're an offshoot of the E-sims for Gaza program created by Mirna El-Helbawi, and allow you to, if you are overwhelmed by the E-sims purchasing process, streamline it.
You donate to Crips for Esims for Gaza, and they do it for you. Help these fantastic disabled activists if you're able!
Link in replies so Tumblr doesn't hide this!

Anas had been studying medicine in Venezuela when he briefly visited his home in Gaza in 2023. The war broke out, and you know the rest.
A staunch supporter of the LGBTQ+ community himself, he reached out to his friends in Venezuela to thank them for not misportraying Palestinians as a bigoted people, and shared the stories of some of the martyrs with them.
During an event celebrating Trans pride, they decided to speak about Anas, and set up a beautiful memorial for the martyrs Anas spoke about.
There are those who try to break the bonds between the oppressed. I suspect there will be many who will try to respond to this, arguing that these causes are incompatible.
There are others like Anas who recognize the unbreakable strength in unity, compassion and acceptance.
Anas is currently very ill. My heart aches with every update from him. Sometimes he tells me he feels these days are his last.
Please don't give up on Anas.

me: oh man, Joann Fabrics is closing. That's going to really suck for a lot of people
Sophia, the Victorian ghost who haunts a lamp I bought at Brimfield: not the least among them Joanne. though I suppose her business acumen must have been wanting if she gave the shop her Christian name- it just seems undignified. was that what drove her customers to other establishments?
me: well, nothing- it's a chain, and in most places, there weren't any other fabric stores.
Sophia:
Sophia: there weren't. any other dry goods stores. selling fabric.
me: not usually, no.
Sophia: in a whole town
me: no.
Sophia: and now there will be nowhere to purchase fabric at all in those towns
me: not in person. I guess people can buy it online
Sophia: what if they don't know what different weaves feel like? how will they learn if they never get to handle them?
me: some places have free swatch service on their websites-
Sophia: so they'll wait a week or more for a swatch, decide if they like it, then send away for the full amount of goods they need and wait even longer for that? what if they want something finished sooner?
me: they'll just be frustrated, I guess
Sophia: wait, why did Joanne's shops close? if she had such a monopoly, surely she'd have made quite a profit regardless of the name
me: an even bigger company bought them and couldn't use them to make billions of dollars, so they're forcing them to close
Sophia:
me: wait- PUT MY SNOW SHOVEL DOWN AND STEP AWAY FROM YOUR LAMP
