So this is a thing I come back to over and over again when I’m writing Roy, and for me it’s a super crucial aspect of his character, and one of his biggest stumbling blocks in relationships.
Roy is a Good Little Extrovert, right? He’s charming and flirty and very very good at faking being okay, so it’s easy to miss the ways in which he falls into his own unhealthy patterns. (Especially because he tends to fall into them with people who have a vested interest in believing him when he lies and says he’s okay.)
You can trace Roy’s abandonment issues pretty clearly and consistently through his canon from “Snowbirds Don’t Fly” on, but there are three moments in particular that for me, really inform how he reacts to feeling abandoned, and why: the detox flashback in the Arsenal miniseries, his breakup with Donna in Titans ‘99, and his breakup with Jason in RH/A.
So! Arsenal #1!
This is the only time Roy ever says the inside thoughts out loud, and naturally it’s when he’s at his lowest possible point. (We do not speak of Cry for Justice or Rise of Arsenal in this space.) And yes, he’s a teenager, and yes, he’s detoxing, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true, and that doesn’t mean the feelings will ever fully go away. There’s a part of Roy that will always believe that he is fundamentally unlovable and deserves to be left. That no one will ever stay, because no one ever has. (It probably doesn’t help that not only did both of his fathers die, they did so by charging in to meet death head-first - Ollie specifically after Roy asked him not to.)

Sorry I cannot English at this point in time as I can't get over this. But I need to vent it all out.
Ok, so I will first acknowledge that maybe I have the mind of a boomer and the nitpicky spirit of a Karen, and of course I respect everyone who holds an opposite view, BUT pure aesthetic preference aside:
1) Consider the feeling you had when you first had a one-on-one dialogue with Omi. There was meant to be that slightly "off" feeling about him in the way he was not looking at you. And this is later supplemented with info from Seb that he is blind. Gone.
2) It was a good lead-in and cue to the fact that the Gaunts are massively inbred, and have all sorts of genetic diseases. Gone.
3) It was a good constant visual reminder of the blend of melancholy and "being treated by others differently" that Omi represents. A bit like a tragic Greek hero. Gone.
Not sure why WB wants to fix what is not broken, especially given the fact that the Switch has less horse power capacity. How do you expect me to believe in the invisible guiding hand of capitalism at this rate.
Hey Can some one tell e what Roy Harper’s personality is actually supposed to be like? ‘Cause the three versions I’m familiar with are Arrow (tv series), Young Justice (cartoon), and RHATO (new 52). And those are just wildly different character. I don’t know what to do with this guy.
Hello! I was wondering wha type of pen you use in your digital art? <:3
Hi :> I use Procreate / Adobe Fresco, but usually I use procreate slightly more.
This one is a basic Inking brush in procreate for this kind of cartoon style, I do both line art and coloring/shading process with this.
And these are another basic brush in AF, I guess pencil is in Sketching category and Messy square is in Painting category. Mostly I use Pencil for my sketches and Messy square for coloring but sometimes I just use random brushes to color hehe I didn’t find yet my coloring style ;)) Anyway hope this helps! <3
okay, i’m convinced. we’ve got demon problems.
