“english isn’t my first langua—“ say no more.
a thing i always find interesting about james being a poc is that it does fundamentally change his character and the way he’s presented in ways i don’t think a lot of people acknowledge.
in canon we have white james, a pretentious and somewhat spoiled pureblood who means well but is unintentionally close minded when it comes to the issues that other ppl face around him. it makes sense because james is white and a pureblood. he comes from a place of privilege so his ignorance is to be expected.
but then you make him a poc in 1970s britain and suddenly everything about him changes, his entire character is rewired. he can no longer be classified as someone completely ignorant nor someone completely privileged because james now understands what it’s like to experience prejudice and hardship. his lived experiences as a marginalised person indisputably affect/influence the way james perceives and acts around other people.
these two, while both james, are fundamentally two different characters as a result of their backgrounds and personal experiences. james as a poc cannot be the same as white james which i think is an interesting aspect of his character that should be explored more in fanon works.
Okay, I know it's probably a reach but imagine with me
Shinsou: What's 54 times 9?
Kaminari: I'm not really good at math...
Shinsou: Okay, how do you conjugate the word "have" in English?
Kaminari: I'm not really the person to ask...
Shinsou: Okay, then how many cones are in the human eye?
Kamimari: Uhm, a few?
Shinsou: Okay....how about this, if there's a guy who's five foot seven and 300 pounds, how many volts-
Kaminari: 74.
Shinsou:
Kaminari:
Shinsou:
Kaminari:
Kaminari: To immobilize.
Shinsou:
Shinsou: You're fucking crazy, oh my god
This site has been going around Twitter trans accounts quite a bit lately, so just pointing out here too that it'll do fuck all, they're exploiting trans people at a time when hrt is particularly hard to access and please don't give them your money
the thing that gets me about about barbie is that barbie land wasn’t even purposefully a matriarchy, barbie land came about because of the way little girls were playing with their barbies, it wasn’t created by mattel it was created by the people using the toys, so the fact that the barbies ignored the ken’s and had girls night every night wasn’t because they had some bias against him, it was just an accurate depiction of how kids play with barbies. I had some ken dolls as a child and they were essential to the plot in the sense that of course my barbie has a boyfriend because that represented the world i saw around me, but also he didn’t have any purpose in my dream world because i was only interested in what the girls were doing because they represented me and how i wanted to be, I wanted girls night every night I wanted the girls to be president and austronauts and not because of some inherent feminist idea but because I was a girl and I wasn’t thinking about boys, ken was an accessory. this movie wasn’t made to change the world but it showed a different perspective than what we usually see which I thought was fun. Men don’t have to be the centre of all our stories and its not even because we hate them, sometimes we’re just not thinking about them
James: Regulus’ lip balm tastes so good. Like vanilla.
Sirius: YOU GUYS KISSED?!
Regulus: No.
Regulus: James just ate my lip balm.
oh my gosh you have GOT to be more inclusive for gn / male!readers. if you tag your fic as gender neutral but use “princess” or any feminine terms i hate you
Are you guys into Sirius? Should l colour him?
So about a week ago I noticed how many emails I was getting from websites I had accounts on that I never used so I started to try and delete some of them. Bc some companies decide to make it complicated this is how I deleted some of my accounts.
Goodreads
They don't have any links to click at the bottom of their email so you have to google goodreads, sign in, go to settings, click account preferences (I think), and scroll all the way down. Then there is a small red text "that says delete my account" click it, confirm your choice and you are done.
Candy
(this is for the ticket thing not candy crush)
There is no button to delete your account. If you google it they will tell you to email them a request, don't do that. I did and gmail just told me that there was no email address under that. Instead go to this link
Or click the little question mark in the top right corner and click submit a request. Then once you are on the request page fill that out and submit it. Then you will get an email saying they have gotten your email and that they generally respond in 1 business day. They havn't responded to me yet so I don't know how easy it actually it.
Electronic Arts
There is no button to delete your account. You have to email them. I was looking at the discussion board and several people were complaining that they emailed and have to confirm their identity and then get another email and have to confirm it all over again. The answer for that question and when you google it is the same thing and basically useless. I haven't emailed them get because of this.
Hero Forge
For this one there is nothing on their site or even the request page. A quick google seach will tell you to email Support@HeroForge.com and provide the email used. I did just that and I got a email saying that they have received it and it will take 1 or 2 business days.
This is your reminder to delete accounts you don't use. Also I'm not saying this is completing accurate, if anyone know a better way to delete accounts pls tell us. Defiantly expect more of these and if people want to share how to delete accounts on other site pls do.
I hope this is a safe space (and if it isn't I don't care) but I truly despise the hc of Remus being snappier and more cruel and that he generally treats everyone worse as the Full Moon gets closer because that's like... Have we read the same books? Or at least just the third, in which minutes before the Moon and without having taken his Wolfsbane (silly mistake, you see), he was able to keep his cool at the presence of Peter? That man stayed stable during the whole Shack scene and he's known for being constantly in control of his emotions.
(Make him hornier, tho, that's fun.)
Yall need to remember that no matter how popular a fic gets (even if it’s literally the most popular fic on ao3) it still goes against fandom etiquette to publicly hate on it or say that it’s bad. Those opinions belong in private conversations or in your private bookmarks, nowhere else. Fanfics are gifts that we aren’t entitled to, and we have to treat them as such.
