Being a girl is: wanting to go to bed early but deciding to just get on tumblr/wattpad/Ao3 for a little bit and then end up finding a fic series that you really like and read until well past your usual bedtime then keeping on because it’s already past your bedtime. Then being mad when you wake up in the morning because you overslept your timer.
Love going to bed with a new, good daydream scenario fresh in my mind. Like yes girl, movie night!
I love hobie brown. I wish british people were real..
reposting this from twitter bc it's making me lose my mind

COLD, COLD, COLD — IZUKU MIDORIYA.
pairing: izuku midoriya / gn!reader
word count: 5.5k
content: ANGST holy shit, villain!reader kind of, reader has a mother but she’s only mentioned, reader has a backstory and an undefined quirk, blood & gore, death, implied abuse, use of master in a parentalish way idk, this shit is sad, enemies to lovers, manipulation, descriptions of choking.
synopsis: izuku midoriya sees something in you, and that’s scarier than it should be. all you’ve known is being a weapon to your master, the man who saved you, but - maybe you want more than that, and maybe midoriya is the only one who can give it to you.
notes: this is so self indulgent i don’t even mind if it doesn’t do too well. that being said if u reblog i’m legally obligated to give u a kiss :*
hands around your neck, breath quickening - your new life starts in the rubble of your old one, stinging and raw.
you caused the explosion, didn’t you? the mysterious man murmurs as he lifts you up, gentle like an expensive piece of china, debris sliding off your little limbs, once you tell him your quirk. this is all your fault, isn’t it?
oh, your little five- or six-year-old brain thinks absently. of course, he’s right. he’s the grown-up here, grown-ups are always right, that’s what you learned from your parents. though your parents don’t have much input then, buried under six shelves of rock and split, sparking wires; no, they’re oddly quiet, and you don’t think they’ve moved in a while.
strange.
the man lifts you away, though you cry pitifully and kick and squirm, his gloved hands a vice. it’s all right, he tells you, wiping dust and blood and tears off the plump apples of your cheeks, and from the shadows of the black mask he’s clipped to his jaw, you think he smiles. you’ll have a safe place with me. you can’t go anywhere else, can you? you destroyed a building, little one. you’re a criminal, like me.
like me, like me, like me.
what little fight there was in your clenched fists and irritable legs saps from you, and you bury your face in the lapels of the man’s jacket. you don’t know him, and your parents always told you to be mindful of strangers, but - they’re not saying anything now, where they lie, dusted in grey. so you let the man leave out the front door with you in his arms, head tucked as tears run down your cheeks just as the lilt of sirens becomes crisp in the distance, just as the blinking red-blue lights whirl round the corner, and you’re gone.

The new Cats trailer came out and I’m actually gonna start screaming
According to the CDC, in 10 percent of those drownings, the adult will actually watch the child do it, having no idea it is happening. Drowning does not look like drowning—Dr. Pia, in an article in the Coast Guard’s On Scene magazine, described the Instinctive Drowning Response like this:
“Except in rare circumstances, drowning people are physiologically unable to call out for help. The respiratory system was designed for breathing. Speech is the secondary or overlaid function. Breathing must be fulfilled before speech occurs.
Drowning people’s mouths alternately sink below and reappear above the surface of the water. The mouths of drowning people are not above the surface of the water long enough for them to exhale, inhale, and call out for help. When the drowning people’s mouths are above the surface, they exhale and inhale quickly as their mouths start to sink below the surface of the water.
Drowning people cannot wave for help. Nature instinctively forces them to extend their arms laterally and press down on the water’s surface. Pressing down on the surface of the water permits drowning people to leverage their bodies so they can lift their mouths out of the water to breathe.
Throughout the Instinctive Drowning Response, drowning people cannot voluntarily control their arm movements. Physiologically, drowning people who are struggling on the surface of the water cannot stop drowning and perform voluntary movements such as waving for help, moving toward a rescuer, or reaching out for a piece of rescue equipment.
From beginning to end of the Instinctive Drowning Response people’s bodies remain upright in the water, with no evidence of a supporting kick. Unless rescued by a trained lifeguard, these drowning people can only struggle on the surface of the water from 20 to 60 seconds before submersion occurs.”
This doesn’t mean that a person that is yelling for help and thrashing isn’t in real trouble—they are experiencing aquatic distress. Not always present before the Instinctive Drowning Response, aquatic distress doesn’t last long—but unlike true drowning, these victims can still assist in their own rescue. They can grab lifelines, throw rings, etc.
Look for these other signs of drowning when persons are in the water:
Head low in the water, mouth at water level
Head tilted back with mouth open
Eyes glassy and empty, unable to focus
Eyes closed
Hair over forehead or eyes
Not using legs—vertical
Hyperventilating or gasping
Trying to swim in a particular direction but not making headway
Trying to roll over on the back
Appear to be climbing an invisible ladder
So if a crew member falls overboard and everything looks OK—don’t be too sure. Sometimes the most common indication that someone is drowning is that they don’t look like they’re drowning. They may just look like they are treading water and looking up at the deck. One way to be sure? Ask them, “Are you all right?” If they can answer at all—they probably are. If they return a blank stare, you may have less than 30 seconds to get to them. And parents—children playing in the water make noise. When they get quiet, you get to them and find out why.

omlll i was there and he kinda just plopped into a crowd of screaming girls. and i was in the back trying to push through while they were pulling on his hair and at one point his shoe came off and then security escorted him back to the stage. but he seriously was like an angel falling from the sky.
1. He did a failed stage-dive and no footage exists of it.
