Inktober Day 16: Wild
Had a rare moment of inspiration+motivation while rereading Girls With Slingshots for the nth time and was able to seize it. Tried my hand at some quick attempts to draw myself in @dcorsetto’s style (plus a random doodle while talking on the phone, guess which one). Anyone familiar with the comic might be able to tell when I was drawing inspiration from Zach versus Jameson (plus a bit of Tucker, but not as much).
Finished sheet, nearly 2 weeks worth of sketches. Paper became a little curly on the bottom so a few faces are a bit warped in this photo. My use of space is, as per usual, hilariously poorly executed
Inktober Day 7: Enchanted
Came out smiling more than the pic, and the glasses are a little wonky. If I can get these done earlier than I wanna try drawing something other than my face, but we'll see how that pans out
Ear is a little funky, but I think everything over all looks ok. Thought I messed up and made the chin area too squashed up at first, but now it looks ok, so maybe I need to keep that in mind going forward
No pupils: yes (more possessed) or no (more haunted)?
I was messaging a new buddy of mine and she made me think of this panel of the supportive voice of reason, Gin, of "M is for Monster." (Great new graphic novel by Talia Dutton @supertaliart, check it out.) So this is my reminder to everyone that your scars are kick-ass, beautiful, handsome, and dashing, and if you're not there in your journey yet than I hope that one day you will be able to view them as such.
Pros: feeling pretty good about how my chin and mouth came out
Cons: managed to make myself cross eyed, and what is going on with the shape of my nose??
The drawing and picture both look a little moody, but somehow in two different ways?
I feel like I went a little bigger for the nose, and it feels a tad bit more on track? Maybe I gotta try drawing it a little larger
