• Tech having a holo pad to keep track of stuff but it just ends up being a list of stupid things everyone has done
• Hunter learning how to braid hair incase Omega grows out her hair
• Crosshair having a secret compartment in his bunk for his toothpick stash
• Everyone knowing morse code so they can talk at night without waking the others up
• Unspoken rule that if Tech is sleeping you do not wake him unless there is an emergency
• Crosshair saying he drinks his caf black but it probably has as much sugar as a frappuccino no one needs to know that though
• Wrecker isn’t even allowed near the caf machine
• Hunter and Echo either don’t have the time or effort to dress up their caf but when they do it is very specific
• Crosshair having how everyone likes their caf memorized
• Wrecker is a very heavy sleeper
• The effort needed to wake him isn’t worth it. Let him sleep. In fact go on and go back to sleep yourself
• Everyone having their own cereals
• They always know if someone took some of theirs
• Omega has a box of lucky charms because she likes the marshmallows
• Wrecker has some sugary cereal like coca puffs or fruity pebbles
• Tech has cheerios or wheaties
• Hunter has one of those cereals that are like oats and dried fruit
• Echo has fruit loops because they were Fives’ favorite
• Crosshair has granola bars instead of cereal
Y'all I watched the episodes again today and... I have some thoughts regarding the elephant in the room.
Right off the bat, no, I still don't think Tech is dead. If you go to the reaction post I made right after I watched the episodes the first time, you'll see I'm not worried about him being dead at all (which explains the enthusiastic tone of it).
I wondered whether all the 'Tech's not dead' theories I've read here aren't clouding my judgement this time but I don't think that's the case.
In fact, I watched the episodes with my parents and the moment they showed the final scene with Omega on Tantiss, the one where she's looking around the lab and it's clear she's about to see someone she knows, my dad was like 'oh, Tech must be here'. So even from a casual viewer's pov, it doesn't look like our favorite genius is dead at all.
The very tone of the episode didn't suggest it either, it was just a bit too… rushed. Even if they gave his sacrifice the right respect in the moment, it doesn't feel like a character death moment with how things progress around it.
And here's the thing: I did have to hold back tears at some points but it wasn't where I thought it would be. I thought I'd fall apart when they lost Tech but it was in fact after that, when the team is trying to pick up the pieces after Omega wakes up.
So these episodes are meant to be emotional but the emotional impact, the moment you're given time to breathe, are when you sympathize with the people who're currently mourning Tech, not when you're supposed to mourn him.
We see closeups of their reactions, we see their feelings. We see Echo look at Tech's seat instead of getting a simple solo closeup of it. We see Hunter pick up his goggles, not a sad little lingering shot of them on the ground next to a battered body. All of it feels like the show is telling us yes, sympathize with these people, feel their pain, this is real for them... but not necessarily true overall.
The episode does a great job of conveying how the batch feels in those moments and you may argue that's a good way of making the audience grieve, a good way of conveying the gravity of the situation. But to me a character death is supposed to be a little bit more private. We're supposed to experience it for ourselves if it's meant to have any proper lasting impact. And yes, I know a lot of us are still shaken from it but remember: we're very attached to these characters and the show.
People like my dad however aren't as invested and for him, that didn't register as a character death. At all.
So if the writers play their cards right, they get our emotional response to what seems like a very plausible and dramatic character death while also not committing to it by giving any concrete evidence whatsoever.
As a result, those of us who sympathize with the batch or are invested in Tech's character will have the emotional response they're looking for (and our engagement on social media will boost the show's popularity, which is exactly what happened) while more casual viewers, like my dad, are presented with the mystery of 'hey what happened to Tech? oh, look it's Tantiss. is he on Tantiss? oh, not yet. wow I can't wait to find out'.
So honestly if this was the writers' plan all along... well played is all I can say.

I hate the concept of blog purity, as in you are confined to your niche and shouldn't post things that are off-theme. Are you a brand? Are you making money off your little niche corner of Tumblr? No? Then why do you care if your blog is 100% thematic? I've seen so many people apologize for posting something that matters to them because it's not their normal content. This is your corner of the web, decorate it how you will and don't feel pressured to curate a single image of yourself
hey!! saw your ask box was open and i'd like to send something in ☺️ so i was wonderin if you could do mirage, hot rod, optimus, starscream + (anyone else you would want to write this for) where their s/o is kinda quiet and shy in the first part of their relationship but the more comfortable they get the louder they get? like when they're happy? screaming. when they're excited? screaming. saying hello? screaming. (all good and happy screams/yelling 👍) Like they just become a really really loud person to be around once you get to know them. cause quite frankly this is soo me but people don't believe me or my family when they say that cause you gotta be like best best friend level to be blessed with my loudness 😤😂 (feel free to ignore & take care of yourself 🫶🫶🫶)
Hello lovely!!
Mirage:
He screams and yells with them. He's so happy that they feel comfortable around him to fully be themselves.
And he loves their reactions, it means they are happy and having a good time. He can be pretty loud too, so he joins in. He yells and whoops along with them when they are happy.
He doesn't care what other people may think. He just loves being loud with his S/O and having a good time with them.
Hot Rod:
Since he only knew them to be quiet, he was a little surprised by their sudden loudness. It's not a problem, it is just something he has to take a second to adjust to. It takes him a few weeks to adjust to it, sometimes it still catches him off guard. But he doesn't say anything and doesn't have any issues. He lets his S/O react however they want to.
He's happy that his S/O finally feels fully comfortable with him. It makes him happy they trust him enough to act like themselves. And he is not the type to try and change them. He thinks they are perfect the way they are.
Optimus:
When they first started yelling he was a little concerned, as he usually interpreted screaming and yelling with bad things. It takes him a while to get used to it, always worried that when they scream it was because they got hurt or scared. But he's happy to know it means they are fully comfortable with him.
Eventually, he gets used to the fact that they are now louder. He won't ever ask them to stop or change. He wants them to be themselves, so he works on his own perspective and changes his opinions so that he can be unbothered by the yelling.
Starscream:
He was very surprised by their sudden change. He can understand that it's because they feel more comfortable around him. Though he does feel a little taken aback by it.
He never really gets used to it, as he likes the quiet, and yelling can sometimes off-put him. However, he is happy they are happy. Sometimes if he's not feeling his best, he may ask them to be a little quieter and not scream. He doesn't want anyone to think he's hurting them. And sometimes he needs a day of quiet. But most of the time he lets them do their thing and be loud.

I haven't really been talking about The Mandalorian today but we basically got a confirmation that Din wasn't dragged under, he just sunk, and honestly I haven't stopped laughing any time I think about it
