The draft should not exist. Drafting people into the military is a violation of human rights. You should not be able to force someone to risk their life. If you can't find enough people who care about a conflict to keep it going then it simply shouldn't keep going. You can't even force someone to donate a kidney using government power, why the fuck can you force them to donate their whole body and life to a cause they don't agree with or don't care about?

I can't know for certain because you know, we don't live in that timeline. But I have a sneaking suspicion that if some of the stuff happening with young men right now were happening with young women instead it would be treated as evidence of female inferiority. If boys were outperforming girls in school, you'd have op eds in major newspapers questioning whether girls need or deserve a formal education. Folks would be trying to revive the debate over colleges admitting women. If young women were losing tons of money to sports betting, you'd have serious proposals for giving men control over their finances "for their own good". The notion that any group of people is inherently inferior and should be excluded from society is wrong, not matter who it's applied to. That idea is considered off the table when we talk about men, but not so much about women.

wow, i don't think i've loved an mcu movie this much in a while but doctor strange in the multiverse of madness really did it for me. i couldn't give less of a fuck about the script since that is the main contention for a lot of people it seems. sam raimi is a talent we do not deserve but he gave it his all in this movie. from the stunning coloring, the wild camerawork, the dynamic composition of shots, and i haven't seen cgi used that beautifully since maybe amazing spider-man 2??? oh man, i forgot that editing could be that interesting in an mcu movie. THIS is what a comic book film (or "picture" as godking raimi would put it) should look like. like it's living. moving. BREATHING. each shot feels like a trippy comic book panel out of something like a jack kirby illustration. i could watch this movie with the dialogue taken out and still be just as invested in everything because sam raimi can tell a story with a camera because he treats the camera like a character. i'm honestly not going to be able to go to sleep because imagine a sam raimi mcu film where he has no leash holding his full potential because i wanna see THAT film.

people being mad about wanda in MoM clearly havent been relevant marvel/mcu fans past 5 years.... the darkhold LITERALLY took her hostage, the darkhold's power is SO powerful we've SEEN IT BEFORE with fitz and aida and all that... its so influential and changes peoples entire motivations and personality and demeanor, standards, morals, vision. things they have learned and known in the past, it all is blurry and even erased once you choose to use the darkhold. its grasp changes you entirely and you cannot stop it or control it at all. even dr strange couldnt be unaffected by the end, given the third open eye and our glimpse to the darkholder stephen.

just tell me you arent really a fan of the mcu past your "faves" before you blame their actions in a movie, that hold up to said plot devices
