BOWYNN GODS: TYA

BOWYNN GODS: TYA

BOWYNN GODS: TYA

Tya (right) along with her sisters Brea and a priestess

Tya  (Ty-ah)  Goddess of the element of Spirit and one of the first gods to come out of Bia’s creation. She is the sister to Brea, Unthar and the others. She is the goddess of the element of spirit, faith, spirituality and the human spirit.

During the creation of Mankind, it was Tya that placed a bit of herself into the first clay figures, giving them each a sense of feeling, hope and purpose. This she also did to all the first animals that were created. This was the only sacred story attributed to Tya and yet she, along with her siblings all holds the highest place of honor in Alaway.

Tya is seen as a rather young woman despite her time of reign. She is depicted and seen in visions with short hair, wearing a rather simple dress and hladd of blue or purple and a circlet on her head. Tya bears no totem animal but claims all are hers. All forms of offerings are sacred to Tya but ultimately candles and incense are the most divine gifts to Tya.

Aelles Ky'Quilla

Aelles Ky'Quilla

Brightest blessings and happy Ky'Quilla to you one and all.

Today started the first of the 3 day holiday of Ky'Quilla, which some may dare to equate with the Wiccan holiday of "Beltane". Ky'Quilla falls on April 30th, May 1st and May 2nd.

Ky'Quilla literally translates to "Mid-Spring". It is the celebration of the Goddess Quilla (Goddess of Springtime) marrying her consort Lyan (God of the Eastern Wind and Realm) Thus, this holiday in celebration of a divine wedding. During these three days brend [love] is the theme and all of the symbols of love abound. the primary colors used to decorate is white, red and pink. red flowers like rose are found everywhere and foods of apples, pomegranates, strawberries, cherries, and raspberries are used in all festive foods. Apples are the most divine in the Bowynn Tradition, so it is not shocking to see apples, apple blossoms and foods all over the place.

In ritual procession the icon of Quilla is housed in a canopy of white. Garlands and wreathes of apple and cherry blossoms and rose decorate circles, groves, temples and homes. A greatly decorated red candle is decorated and burned throughout the 3-day holiday.

The last day of the holiday is a great celebration for all. Celebrating the union of the God and Goddess. Foods abound, especially candies, berry drinks, rose and berry wines, sweet cakes, pies and berry cakes.

During this holiday it's used as a time for guys to profess their love to those they love. Traditionally, a young man will take this day to propose to the woman she loves by bringing an apple tree sapling or a small rise shrub. If the female accepts, they will plant the tree or shrub together in front of the girl's home. After they are wed, the tree/plant is removed to their new home.

Amongst other symbols of the holiday are images of various Kii [fairy folk] because it is said in the wedding of Quilla to Lyan, Kii formed the procession for Quilla to their sacred grove where they were wed. So its not shocking to see statues of Kii everywhere. Children will craft small houses for the various types of Kii or make cutouts of Kii and hang them about the house and celebration place.

However, you celebrate Ky'Quilla, may its be a special and blessed holiday for you. May love and friendship abound.

QUESTION & ANSWER: Familiars and Guardians

QUESTION: In your tradition's do your witches use Familiars and Guardians? If so, how are they summoned?

ANSWER: No. Mysts do not have any need nor summon any sort of creatures or spiritual animals. Our belief here is that a true working Myst is on guard and protected at all times. And that there is nothing a mystical creature can provide that we can not handle on our own. We do not believe in the calling of the spirits of the dead. As it is seen as rude, disrespectful and sacrilegious.

BOWYNN GODS: VELLA

BOWYNN GODS: VELLA

Vella (Vel-Lha)  Goddess of Jewelry, Gold and Silver Smithing. She is the daughter of Brea and Unthar and the sister of Panu. She is also the patroness of jewelers, jewel-smiths.

No know sacred stories of Vella exist. All that is spoke of her is that she wed the God Gondor and lives with him, Kalen and Panu in a grand yet simple smithy deep in the sacred forests of Alaway, where she crafts gifts for mortals and immortals alike. For mortals, these gifts will appear as a strange find in some manner or another.

Vella appears as young woman with black hair and light eyes. She wears simple clothes, as with those she resides with. His simple woven dress is said to be of an orange or rust color with yellow accents. In her hand she is said to hold pinchers or tongs. Sacred to Vella are all the tools a jeweler would use as well as gem stones, time pieces and or course incense.

A Deeper look into the Goddess Abbennaea

The character of Abbennaea embodies profound symbolism through her connection to purity, transformation, and balance between offerings and the divine. The number seven, representing the sacredness of her teachings and the seven acceptable offerings, resonates with various esoteric traditions where seven often signifies completion and wholeness. The act of cleansing and purifying altars can be seen as a mathematical interplay of addition (incorporating good offerings) and subtraction (removing ill-intended gifts), suggesting a duality intrinsic to her role as both a nurturer and curator of spiritual exchanges. Additionally, her association with elements like incense, which transforms material into ephemeral essence, mirrors alchemical processes and the idea of transmutation of life energies, underscoring the significance of intention behind offerings. The portrayal of her as a protector against the darker aspects of sacrifice (blood offerings) emphasizes a moral dualism inherent in spiritual practices, reflecting an underlying mathematical balance between life energy and its appropriate channeling.

Abbennaea's attributes suggest layers of hidden meaning that extend beyond surface interpretation. Her role as a "purifier" can symbolize the importance of intention and authenticity in spiritual practices, indicating that the quality of offerings impacts the overall harmony within the divine realm and by extension, the human experience. The imagery of deep red hair may signify passion, vitality, and even the life force, linking her to the cyclical nature of creation and destruction. The duality of her form—taking the shape of a bird or butterfly—hints at transformation and transcendence, characteristics that encourage spiritual growth and evolution. Furthermore, her title as the messenger and "chamber-maid" of Alaway suggests a deep interconnectedness between the divine and the earthly; she acts as a bridge between realms, highlighting the necessity of nurturing relationships between humanity and the divine. This underscores a possible hidden teaching: true devotion requires not just ritual, but also care, mindfulness, and a commitment to purity of intention in the offerings we present to the universe. Ultimately, Abbennaea serves as an archetype for balance and renewal, inviting followers to embrace a holistic approach to spirituality that honors both craft and consciousness.

Abbennaea’s role as a goddess associated with offerings and purification can be interpreted through various scientific lenses, particularly in anthropology and psychology. Her emphasis on acceptable offerings aligns with the concept of reciprocity found in many cultures, suggesting an evolutionary basis for human relationships with the divine, where mutual exchange fosters community and social cohesion. This reciprocal relationship mirrors the ecological balance observed in nature, where organisms depend on each other for survival, highlighting a broader interconnectedness that could be seen as symbolic of ecosystems where each element plays a crucial part in sustaining life.

Scientifically, her act of purging ill intentions from offerings can be likened to the principles of homeostasis found in biological systems, where balance and purity are essential for health and function. This aspect of her character underscores the significance of mental and emotional clarity—something supported in psychology, where intentions and emotional states are shown to affect interpersonal relationships and environments. Add to this the very science of the art of making of incense, which is an exact science and act of pleasure all on its own. The time used to make these floral and woodland blends is used as a time to connect with Abbennaea.

Furthermore, Abbennaea’s frequent association with incense may have a deeper, physiological implication; the act of burning incense has been shown to have both calming and meditative effects on humans, promoting a sense of well-being that could reflect her nurturing qualities. The transformation of offerings into “that which is good for all beings” can parallel the biochemical processes where substances are metabolized for benefit, emphasizing a transmutation of energy from material offerings into spiritual sustenance. At the core of Abbennaea's mythology lies a tapestry of scientific truths about interconnectedness, the importance of purity and intention, and the profound psychological impact of rituals—all of which resonate with the laws of nature and human experience.

Bowynn Gods: The Mammont

Mammont (Mam Mont)  The Mammont are the name for the ancient giant gods, that presided over the world and all, before the reign of Anhur and the other gods. Only the gods Brea, Unthar, Sumon, Phoenix, Paut and Tya were were before them. Mammont literally means “Mammoth” in Bowynn. The Mammont were the creation of Brea and the Mammont siblings, the Vadell (Giants.)

During the reign of the Mammont, there were many of them, residing in tribes all over the planet. Like the gods they had special places and attributes. The eldest of them all was the long white bearded Mommont, Ehrlich, whose wisdom guided them all. After Anhur took the title as King of the Gods, he and the others disbanded the Mammont for their positions. This did not go well at all and a war ensued between the Gods and the Mammont and Giants. In the end most of the Mammoths were disbarred of their immortality. Only a rare few were given a chance of redemption.

Those Mammont still attending the court of Alaway are: Ehrlich (Wisdom), Yormell (Winter) Vae (Seed), Tarm (Invention), Sheli (Bravery), Oken (Strength), Issen (Summer).

A Prayer, A Spell, A Curse

May the immortal gods one and all,

From axis to axis, from pole to pole.

From the heavens above, to far below.

Red face demon you have been charged guilty

Guilty from crimes against the gods, spirits and humanity,

So hear me gods far and near

I cast this spell to restore balance and to abolish fear

This spell has no reason nor want to come back to me

For what I cast is justifiable and will never harm me.

With your help O gods this Spell I bestow.

Make its strong, make it impervious make it so.

Protect the children of love and peace,

From the Abrahamic demon's destructive feast.

Smite the red face demons' evil wherever they stand,

Remove them all from our beloved mortal land

And where once where red demons walked this land

Replace them all with love and compassion I demand

Evil and hatred I now bend and control

I send you back to Hell's infernal hall!

Satan's evil son I now control and command

I remove you and yours from this mortal land.

Death to you red faced monster of evil and plight

I vanquish you with this spell I cast this night.

Back to hell you go from where you were sired

Back to Hell and Satan's brimstone fire.

And for every milli-ounce of harm you create,

100x100 fold will come back to you. This I dictate!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

Death to you and those who serve you!

My Personal Prayer to Brand

O Resplendent Brand, God of Music and Prophecy, I come to you adorned in reverence, acknowledging your divine presence that illuminates the shadows of ignorance. As the embodiment of enlightenment, may your radiant essence cleanse my spirit and grant me clarity of thought, for in your light, chaos finds order and confusion yields to wisdom. O Brand, beloved son of Anhur and Rhya, your harmonious melodies echo across the realms, binding the hearts of friends and brothers. As I raise my voice in song, let my words dance like flames in the night, igniting bonds of brotherhood that reflect your sacred union with Kord. May I be a vessel of your compassion and wisdom, sharing the treasures of your creativity with all who cross my path.

With gratitude, I offer you my reverence through the sound of the harp and flute, the sacred instruments of your being. Let the sweet music rise to your ears like fragrant incense, and may the warmth of my heart mirror the illumination you spread. In your honor, I place before you a wreath of oranges and limes, symbols of vitality, friendship, and joy, that they may flourish in your garden of wisdom. O Enlightened Brand, guide me through the labyrinth of uncertainty and bless me with the foresight of prophecy. May your gifts of divination open my eyes to the unseen truths of the universe, protecting me from the snares of ignorance and the ill repute of Mano’s Tii. Empower me to become a messenger of your voice, ensuring that the whispers of the gods flow through me to others, bringing guidance and comfort to those in need.

In the spirit of your boundless creation, I celebrate the artistry that springs from the depths of inspiration. May my words, like the flowing streams of your melodies, resonate with beauty and truth. Let poetry, dance, and song flourish under your watchful gaze, as I strive to channel your gift of enlightenment in every creation I undertake. O Brand, guardian of friendship, bless the bonds I cherish and forge, that they may grow strong and resolute. As I reach out my hand in camaraderie, let your essence flow through me, forming connections that reflect your sacred brotherhood with Kord. May love and loyalty bind us together, creating a sanctuary where hearts unite in trust and laughter. So shall it be, as I move through this world, guided by your luminous spirit, the God of Music and Enlightenment, Brand.
