If you type, write, draw, game, or generally use your hands a lot (especially if youâre prone to RSI or Carpal Tunnel!) try these stretches as both a preventative measure, and on the spot relief. Take care of yourself and your body, friends!
Start with hands up, fingers stretched out. Â Stretch your thumb as far as you can over your palm. Hold and repeat 4 times.
Touch each finger to your thumb. Hold each for 30 seconds. Repeat on each hand 4 times.
Start with a fist. Open half way, hold for 2 seconds. Stretch fingers out, hold for 2 seconds. Repeat 4 times.
Start with one arm out, palm up. Pull your fingers back with your other hand. Hold for 10 seconds. Do the same with your other hand. Repeat 4 times
Start with arms up, palms out. Bend wrists down until you feel the stretch, but keep your fingers loose. Hold 10 seconds. Bend wrist upwards, until you feel it in your wrist and arm. Hold 10 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

When you begin a story that is heavy with technical detail that must be checked for accuracy, the most efficient way of going about it is approaching the first draft with a general sense of the topic. Then, as you write more and more, keep note of details you donât have or facts you need to find. When you reach the second and third drafts, turn that general idea into specific detail. Youâll know what you need to know at that point, and you wonât waste valuable time doing unnecessary research instead of revising.
Hoard. Your. Sources. Not only so you can cite them to any editors or beta-readers whose knowledge may conflict with what youâve researched, but so you can refer back to them if you decide to elaborate on the part of the story that required that information in the first place. Always keep a list of links in a document with the specific information youâve gleaned from it, listed in a way where you can easily navigate and revisit sources and information.

Edit: People, Iâm an English and creative writing double major in college; I understand that thereâs nothing wrong with simply using âsaid.â This was just for fun, and it comes in handy when I need to add pizzazz.Â
Hereâs the thing: I love the horror AESTHETIC, but I hate the horror MOOD. I find âfearâ and âhorrorâ to be unpleasant emotions, ones that I donât want to experience in my enjoyment-media.
It makes finding stuff a bit challenging, let me tell you. So like, if you know anything that fits that bill, can you share it with me? (Iâm already aware of @normal-horoscopes, and Iâm familiar with Welcome To Night Vale.
I like stories with things that are weird, and unnatural, and dangerous in the same sense that a river or a fire is dangerous; it cares nothing for you and can destroy you, but it also has no malice and, once you know its nature, you can work with it more-or-less safely, so long as you never think yourself âsafeâ.
I like dark castles ruled by ominous and mysterious beings, and I especially love the various petty drama that happens between the monsters who work in said castles.
I like things that explore the realities and challenges of different forms of unlife, of being something changed and inhuman; but I donât like things that delve too deep into âIâm having an existential crisis and all of my former friends now hate meâ, thatâs a completely DIFFERENT form of horror, one which I find deeply unappealing.
