there are so many parallels to be made between The Terror and The North Water... even beyond the obvious common points of "sad boys on a boat are stranded in the Arctic and there's some killing and mutiny involved". the way both shows use these backgrounds to explore themes like identity (faking one, lacking one, rebuilding one), masculinity especially related to class and religion, colonialism, the way both shows go beyond the saint/monster dichotomy and while being incredibly dark and showcasing human-made horrors, still manage to leave room for redemption and/in solidarity
