why is arguing with conventionally attractive people so humiliating?? like I will be arguing online with someone about an issue im passionate about but when I check their profile and see that they're very conventionally attractive I feel a wave of nausea and shame. I don't fully get why because i dont get into arguments if im not confident that im right. My guess is that it has more to do with the fact that them being easy on the eyes means that they already naturally have a better chance at people being on their side before the arguments are even made. I dont know I've been doing well lately but I also feel very isolated. I dont think im ugly or anything but im not very good looking either, I have a shitty, hard to like personality, and im trans. The three of those things combined make me feel very separated from those around me. I am going very off topic and kind of just rambling like I do in conversation (which I've been told isn't conversation if youre rambling but anyway) but I dont know. I am usually very confident in my arguments and beliefs but I wish that didnt waver as much as it does when I encounter someone who is attractive or likable.

i feel like as a kid Ponyboy was one of those kids who was ALWAYS skeptical of Santa Claus, even if no-one ever told him and thus felt the need to tell other kids that Santa wasn't real so that more people would know the truth, but ended up just upsetting a ton of kids and causing arguments.

i hate when im reading a fic and in my brain I point out all the grammatical errors because im very aware of that stuff (certified grammar police) and then feel REALLYY bad because at the beginning its like "sorry english isn't my first language" and its probably written by a middle schooler and I just feel bad

reblogging because not enough people realize that sandy is a teenage girl, only around sixteen years old. similar to sylvia, cheating is bad, but shes objectively A child and we dont have a lot of context as to how or why this happened.

cheating sucks but she also isn't a terrible person for it, she is redeemable. we have very, very little explanation of how and why she cheated, and with whom. im not going to go too deep into this, but there is also the possibility, like with sylvia, that she may have been violated and considering how that topic is treated and the fact that it is the 60s in tulsa, it would make sense for her to have lied or for someone else to.

but if she did actually cheat, shes still just a kid and while I feel awful for sodapop, she isn't a terrible person.
