Victor: (Faints after seeing the giant corpse man he has created)
The Creature: Father is...evil? Father is unyielding? Father is incapable of love? I am running away. I am packing my little rucksack and going out to explore the world as a lone vagabond. I can no longer thrive in this household.
no one here to talk about how raph’s sense of self-preservation vs self-sacrifice is directly tied to how it affects the safety of his family and i resent that
leo gets dropped off a building, raph all but throws himself after him to catch him, no real plan, just desperation. shadow of evil, he sees they’re way outnumbered, he literally picks his entire family up and runs.
battle nexus new york he posts himself over donnie as a personal shield against shredder
shreddy or not, not only is he the second mvp of the initial brawling (gram gram is of course biggest mvp) putting it all on the line THROWING HIMSELF at shredder, saving bacon left and right with like zero regard for his own safety. he then has to buckle down and make the choice to get his brothers to safety TWICE while leaving people behind in the span of a couple of minutes, and he looks so absolutely torn up about it
in the movie, he’s the one who sees them getting their butts handed to them in the first kraang showdown and calls for the retreat/escape pods! and then he puts himself on the line saving leo’s life, getting hurt in the process, then getting leo out safely and being captured in the process.
and i think it’s so interesting that like. when he knows his family made it home safe in one piece, when he’s alone in enemy hands and sister kraang is straight up like “let’s kill him already he won’t tell you anything,” raph is just like. “yeah, she’s right.” no trying to stall for time or argue back.
like his sense of self-preservation and i think overall worth really is SO so directly tied to his family’s safety. which makes it hurt even harder to see his mind and autonomy get violated and used to hurt them imo
I'm seeing Gävle goat popping up more on my TL. Feelings are mixed. For your consideration: - People have been trying to burn this thing down since 1966, when it was first erected. It was first burnt down on NYE 1966. - Burning the goat is illegal and carries a fine and/or prison sentence. - That punishment is somehow part of the appeal. - 38 out of 57 Goats have been vandalized. - Both sides keep trying. Neither side has let up. That's the joke now. Also: Gävle has a website, with a countdown for when the goat gets put up! There'll be a webcam and everything! -> https://www.visitgavle.se/en/gavle-goat
Also Also: The official twitter account literally leans into the joke. It's bio reads:
"Jag är världens mest kända halmbock, gillar jul och har svårt för tändstickor. I’m THE straw goat of the world, I fancy Christmas and I don't play with matches."
I'm team burnination. I'm also team "if they legalize it, the fun of it actually ends". Is arson bad? Yeah. Is it bad to want the goat to burn? Nah. I think this is a very human thing to want.
Family outings are fun, especially with little kids
One of the funniest things about early Batgirl Cass is that everyone around her is just like wow she's so silent and competent and deadly I can't imagine what it's like to be so cool and then you look at Cass's POV and as well as being suicidal and depressed she's so overstimulated and running on constant anxiety. Like sure she's quiet and spooky but that's because she doesn't know what to say but she knows if everyone in this room doesn't walk out alive she's going to kill herself so you WILL listen to her or she'll take your entire gang of 50 men down in 10 seconds. Batman's like "Look at that discipline she took them down and moved right on to the next gang the grind never stops isn't that right Cassie?" And meanwhile Cass's brain is blaring constant alarms because there are 50 people in the city in potentially fatal danger right this second and she has to save every single one even if it means no food or sleep until she's done. Barbara keeps suggesting self help audiobooks but Cass doesn't have time for that there are people that could be in trouble and if even a single one of them dies it is Cass's fault for not being good enough and she's a horrible person who will burn in hell. This is a totally rational way to live why is everyone but Bruce so confused by it?
I was reading the yakusoku no neverland manga, and I just imagine this scene while Emma and Ray tried to learn everything from Yuugo as they headed to Goldy Pond.

Listened to a friend talk about Flash comics today; why do the flashfam and their Rogues literally operate like the fucking mafia. Why do their Rogues have established rules and consequences and live in constant fear of the day their heroes snap. Why is this the most efficient and moral Rogues Gallery I've seen yet. I'm so intrigued what is wrong with all of them why are they like that. Why are people getting PAID??
