“As Immovable As Fate, I Hate It So.” WE FOUND ANOTHER ONE BOYS

“As immovable as fate, I hate it so.” WE FOUND ANOTHER ONE BOYS

The worst thing in the entire world is when you’re sweeping a big pile of dirt into a dustpan and it leaves that little coke line of grit behind. No matter how you position your pan or your broom and no matter how many times you sweep over it your outcome cannot change. As immovable as fate. I hate it so

🌿 My Name is Rola, and This is My Story 🌿

I never thought I would be writing this. I never thought I would be begging for help just to keep my children warm, just to feed them one more meal. But here I am, reaching out to you, because I have no other choice.

My name is Rola. I am a mother of two beautiful children, and before October 7th, we had a life filled with love and laughter. We had a home. My children had their own room, filled with their toys and drawings. We would sit together on our balcony, drinking coffee in the early morning light. We had dreams, just like any other family.

But in an instant, it was all gone.

🌿 My Name Is Rola, And This Is My Story 🌿
🌿 My Name Is Rola, And This Is My Story 🌿

A missile struck. The earth shook beneath us. The air filled with dust and fire. My husband and son ran, stumbling over each other in terror. I stood frozen, the ringing in my ears drowning out my own screams. Our home was shattered—windows blown out, doors ripped from their hinges. And when I looked outside, our neighbor’s house, a place that once echoed with children's laughter, was nothing but rubble and ash.

That was just the beginning.

The bombs never stopped. Every night, I held my children close as the sky rained fire. The sound of explosions mixed with the cries of mothers searching for their babies in the darkness. I covered my children, whispering words of comfort, but how do you comfort a child who is terrified of dying in their sleep?

We had to leave. We walked away from everything—our home, our memories, the warmth of our life before. My children left behind their favorite toys, their books, their safe space. Now, we have nothing.

🌿 My Name Is Rola, And This Is My Story 🌿
🌿 My Name Is Rola, And This Is My Story 🌿

No home.

No food.

No clean water.

No way out.

I went to buy sugar the other day. It cost $20 for just a kilo. Food is disappearing, and the little that remains is impossible to afford. Every day, I fight to find just enough to keep my children alive.

I am exhausted. I am scared. I need your help.

I never imagined I would have to beg for my family’s survival. But today, I am.

Please, if you are reading this, help us. Help me save my children. Help us find shelter, food, a way to rebuild even a small piece of the life we lost. If we ever have the chance to leave, we need support. If we are forced to stay, we need a home again.

Every donation matters. Every share helps. Every voice that speaks for us keeps hope alive.

💚 Please donate if you can. Share our story. Help us survive. 💚

Ref Recs for Whump Writers

Violence: A Writer’s Guide:  This is not about writing technique. It is an introduction to the world of violence. To the parts that people don’t understand. The parts that books and movies get wrong. Not just the mechanics, but how people who live in a violent world think and feel about what they do and what they see done.

Hurting Your Characters: HURTING YOUR CHARACTERS discusses the immediate effect of trauma on the body, its physiologic response, including the types of nerve fibers and the sensations they convey, and how injuries feel to the character. This book also presents a simplified overview of the expected recovery times for the injuries discussed in young, otherwise healthy individuals.

Body Trauma: A writer’s guide to wounds and injuries. Body Trauma explains what happens to body organs and bones maimed by accident or intent and the small window of opportunity for emergency treatment. Research what happens in a hospital operating room and the personnel who initiate treatment. Use these facts to bring added realism to your stories and novels.

10 B.S. Medical Tropes that Need to Die TODAY…and What to Do Instead: Written by a paramedic and writer with a decade of experience, 10 BS Medical Tropes covers exactly that: clichéd and inaccurate tropes that not only ruin books, they have the potential to hurt real people in the real world.

Maim Your Characters: How Injuries Work in Fiction: Increase Realism. Raise the Stakes. Tell Better Stories. Maim Your Characters is the definitive guide to using wounds and injuries to their greatest effect in your story. Learn not only the six critical parts of an injury plot, but more importantly, how to make sure that the injury you’re inflicting matters.

Blood on the Page: This handy resource is a must-have guide for writers whose characters live on the edge of danger. If you like easy-to-follow tools, expert opinions from someone with firsthand knowledge, and you don’t mind a bit of fictional bodily harm, then you’ll love Samantha Keel’s invaluable handbook

⛔One moment please ‼️🙏

My name is Aseel Asaad from Gaza

I lost everything because of the horrific war in Gaza

Please take two minutes of your time to read my story

I stand before you as someone who tries to benefit from families of 10 people. We are living under miserable conditions in tents in Khan Yunis.

It is difficult for me to find words to describe the materials we have under war, bombing, and displacement

No food, no medicine, no clean water

We have lost our entire home and also our source of livelihood, and now we do not have anything

In addition, my father suffered a stroke because of the constant bombardment of the boat

Also, my mother suffers from chronic diseases that require medication, but there is none currently, and the patient is sick

I have no chance left except to help because it will currently save us from death

The past months were full of hell and horror. This war is long lasting, absolutely revealed to us and fleshed out for the special edition. We have reached a point where there is no hope anymore in Gaza and are we waiting for death? Even if a ceasefire is reached, the bloodshed in Gaza cannot be quickly repaired

To cross the border between Gaza and Egypt at Rafah, our names must be on the crossing list (paid permit). Our names include coordinators in Egypt, who are authorized as well as abstract names to heaven at the border, between $7,000 and $8,000 individually! He won't be able to get the names until he can prove we have the money ready.

I also graduated from the university in the English language department with a high grade, and I had many ambitions and dreams like anyone outside Gaza. I intended to do a lot, but the war destroyed everything. We want to survive and create a beautiful future, and we hate death.

I would appreciate the help at this difficult time.

ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help

It’s hard to describe what it feels like to lose everything. To wake up and realize your entire life has been erased.

But here we are—$1,580 raised so far.

It’s a small step in a long journey, but it proves that there are still people who care. That hope isn’t completely gone.

💙 Please, if you can, help us move forward. Every share, every donation, every kind word helps us hold on.

My Friend Safaa @sfaamq10 Has Allowed Me To Share Her Story, I Ask That You Please Take A Moment To Read

My friend Safaa @sfaamq10 has allowed me to share her story, I ask that you please take a moment to read it, share, and donate if you can. 💖

Safaa is studying to be a lawyer and is mother to baby Amir. Since the bombardment began, her husband Mohammed has lost his job at the university and thus their livelihood. Safaa’s father has suffered a stroke and her mother-in-law suffers from inadequately treated diabetes.

This family has lost everything; they have been forced by the occupation to live in a tent, not knowing where their next meal will come from, the water is not safe, and the approaching winter compounds these problems.

Safaa is raising money to get her family out of Gaza so they can continue living and pursue their dreams. Every donation counts, a small donation can help get pampers and milk for Amir or feed the family. As of writing, Safaa is 48% towards their goal. Please share and donate anything to allow this family to live in dignity, thank you 💖
