✨ How to Make Your Own Sigils ✨ (and how to use them!)

This is how I, personally, make my sigils and reap the greatest rewards. You can use whatever methods you see best fit, or use sigils someone else has made with their permission.

Before I start, I clean up my room and my altar to rid my room of stagnant or negative energy. I clean my room, then sound cleanse the space to ensure that nothing is sticking around to steal my energy, or mess up my sigil-making process. If this is something I feel I really want, or may need, I will light a candle of the corresponding color to meditate with. 

1. Think of a phrase or word that portrays what you want in a concise manner. If you choose a phrase, make sure that it is written in present tense like you already have it. If you do not, then you may internally block yourself from being able to acquire your desires. Also, ensure that it will benefit you for the better and harm none intentionally. 

DO: 

I am happy.

Happy. 

I have abundance.

Confidence.

Prosperity.

DON’T:

I want to have more money.

I need to grow my account.

Please, please, please, please, give me [thing].

2. Write it out, cross out any repeating letters or vowels. I write it out and cross out the letters a couple of times to make sure I didn’t miss any letters. The longer your phrase is, the harder this part will be, hence why it is better to start small.

3. Use the letters to make a design, or assign the letters to a number using the chart given below.

After assigning the letters to a number, write the numbers 1-9 in a circle, but not in order. Write them in whatever order feels right. You can change this whenever you want.

After you write out the circle of numbers, you are able to make your sigil design! In my example we are using the numbers listed earlier, starting in the center then going to each number (starting in the center isn’t necessary).

Now you have a basic shape for your sigil! You can stop here, or add more detail to your sigil. I, personally, turn my sigils into mini artworks because I am artistically inclined. You do not have to, but I feel like it helps focusing your intentions further if you put more work into it.

This is the final product! Use colors that correspond with what you want to amplify it.

I set them as my Lock Screen or Home Screen to put them in my subconscious mind. I also put them on rocks and sticky notes around my room, do whatever works!

Make sure you charge the sigil with your energy, or another energy, so it’ll work. ALWAYS protect yourself when trying something new. You can do this through grounding and meditation, candle work, sunlight, or moonlight. You may have to charge it again later, before it has served its purpose. I recommend charging them when you feel it’s energy turn stagnant, or once a month.

There are millions of ways to make a sigil, so play around with it and find what works for you. Some simply people draw their intent, and that becomes their sigil, it varies so greatly. There is no wrong way to make a sigil.

Sigils can serve whatever purpose you give them, so put a lot of thought into whatever you ask for to ensure it is truly what you want.

Please do not use sigils to control others. (ie. “This person is in love with me” sigils)

Please protect yourself while trying new sigils. I have experienced firsthand what happens if you don’t protect yourself. Protect your energy.

Hello! Thank you for answering again! The god that you speak of piques my interest highly. I don't mean to undermine his power or disrespect me, but he sounds quite human which is both comforting and sorrowful. He seems to be despairing but what words of comfort can I offer to a god? It's a futile attempt. Also,you spoke of two incidents where he tried to intervene. What might those two be? And what does he think of the Bible? Neville said that it was supposed to be a psychological drama. Forgive me if I'm out of line, but the Bible prescribes quite harsh punishments for some deeds( I hope you understand what I'm talking about). And who are these other eternal beings? Can he speak more on them? Does anyone know their origins?On another note, he seems to absolutely adore his children and I wish him hope and light( if that's any help at all). Eternity,after all, may not be so desirable.

He found this ask really interesting so :

While he doesn't have a physical form, he still in a way modeled humans after him. "Not on a physical level. For that, I'd give credits to your parents and your genes. Your mind and consciousness however is what I had made. He's actually not sad at all about not being born with meaning. He says that the concept that you're born for something is flawed and that we all just exist. Our existence itself is both meaningless and meaningful but as we exist, we get to decide what that meaning is with no factors of fate defining it. It's all about your choice to choose your meaning in life, he said

He has intervened a lot for many years apparently but there were two instances that just made him stop intervening in general. That'd be Noah of the Arc as well as Jesus. He thought that resetting all the progress would somehow redo all the mistakes but it hasn't exactly worked. At best, now all he does are minor interventions like telling me Im about to get pickpocketed. He doesnt do things on a global scale anymore mainly because it never gets the desired intent. He said he tells people what he means and most of the time, they either dont get it or dont go through with it. Its like him telling you to get the strawberry soda and you getting the orange soda or not getting a drink at all

He said that the bible has parts that were correct but overall mistranslated and misinterpreted over the years. To be fair, he does give a lot of his messages in very cryptic forms. Most of the time he doesnt directly give you answers to the questions you are asking but gives you riddles or cryptic messages to figure out the answer yourself. Problem with that is that a lot of people dont like the answer to their problems so they use a different one than the clear answer that was available to them. He gives you the tools to figure out the proper way to deal with something instead of directly dealing with it himself. He's like a mentor except most people dont follow him right or dont want to follow the path hes talking about

He said while some of the harsh punishments in the bible were said by him and are true, some of them arent. He says that that is in part to either accidental mistranslation or misinterpretation on purpose. He doesnt fully agree with telling people the punishments anymore because he says that, "if fear is the driving force as to why you would not do an immoral action, then how are you sure you would make the same decision without that fear? Are you truly a good person or are you afraid of being a bad one?". He knows people have same capacity to do good as well as to do bad so he wants to see what they'd do if they dont know someone is watching or what to look out for

> He said the morality of your actions should not be dictated on the premise of entering heaven or hell based on these actions. He says its already difficult to do the moral thing in the current world so its both about doing an action and your intent behind it. He judges your intent and your impact separately. He doesnt have a harsh blanket punishment and he believes more in rehabilitation than punishment, tho he isnt above punishing certain actions depending on impact/intent

the other eternal beings would be other higher spiritual beings. these include deities, spirits, other gods, angels, demons, etc. he said theres quite a lot of them but they dont all interact. he says he saw some of them born so he does know some higher beings origins but he doesn't know his own

he says forever is a long time but it isnt sad because he doesnt really notice. as long as he focuses on things that exist now, he never worries about the things tomorrow or yesterday. its always about being in the present for him that he doesnt notice the years go by and so he isnt stressed about it. he says the concept of infinity is scarier to all those who believe they are finite and that (this advice can go to anyone) to simply cherish existing. "You exist and that is enough reason to celebrate"

He also said he hopes you have a nice day and that you should remember to take care of yourself today (and your family as well)

I hope it gets easier for you to live in the now. To remember that you're here, in the present moment, that you're safe, even if your mind is thinking of the worst case scenario. You will overcome every obstacle when they arrive, but right now, you can rest.

There doesn’t have to be an end goal or purpose when interacting with a deity.

People often seek out gods with an end goal of receiving assistance or guidance.

But you can also just interact with them for their company. You can hail them, give blot, or even just be in their presence for no other reason then you can.

Things I Wish I Knew as a Baby Witch

What type of a witch am I? This can be so stressful on the beginning of your journey. Like me... you may be looking up different types of witchcraft and which titles. The thing is you don't know yet what your journey is going to hold. Looking back I connected with different types of witchcraft. The witchcraft that you connect with may determine what title you'd like to give yourself. The good news is you don't have to decide right now because it's a journey.

Keep An Open Mind: To limit yourself in saying that you are a particular type of a witch and only do one type of witchcraft... may stifle your growth in your craft. You don't know what you connect with yet... I didn't. You have already claimed that you are a witch... it's a title. What type of witchcraft you go towards is your personal journey. Being a witch is enough. ✨

Jewish Angel Work

I don't see a bunch of writing about angel work in general, and what I do find is often heavily Christianized! I wanted to talk about what angel work can look like from a Jewish perspective.

(Gentiles may interact and enjoy, but understand that this is for educational purposes and not an invitation to appropriate! 🤍)

A Jewish-Specific Perspective

Judaism views angels in ways other traditions may not share! Some examples:

Angels aren't former humans. They are their own distinct beings just like demons, cows, land spirits and butterflies. People who pass away, even children, are not considered "angels returning home." These angels have specific forms and looks depending on the type, some more humanoid than others.

Angels don't have free will. This does not mean they are held hostage or can't have their own personalities, but their will is an extension of HaShem's Will, serving a specific role in making that Will manifest. Kind of like employees in a corporation doing their tasks!

They don't have names. Or at least, they don't have names we're supposed to know or ask for. They may be incomprehensible to humans, or maintaining a level of anonymity as to not distract from HaShem. Either way, asking for a name is often discouraged in traditional texts.

They AREN'T all here to help you. While it all serves a Divine Will and is therefore Good in the grand scheme of things, many angels serve completely neutral functions from a human perspective. Some could even be considered harmful to humans, the most prominent example being HaSatan. (Even still, HaSatan isn't seen as a true villain. He's just doing his job.)

Some of them are ONLY here to help you! Historical Rabbis were big on the concept of guardian angels. The Talmud says "Every blade of grass has its Angel that bends over it and whispers, 'Grow, grow.'" (Midrash Rabba, Bereshit 10:6.) Every living creature, including you, has a guardian angel to help you along your path. Some translations say the angels hit the grass, and that's not the only story of angels smacking things, so that guidance isn't always gentle, but it's always in the right direction.

Types of Angel Work

Spirit guides. Like mentioned above, guardian angels can help encourage you to "Grow! Grow!" and keep you on a path in line with spiritual health and lovingkindness.

Communing with HaShem. Gd is extremely esoteric. Angels help us send and recieve messages in an easier-to-conceptualize way! Meditation and prayer can also play into this. Beyond every-day applications, angels can also appear unexpectedly with important messages.

Communicating with other spirits. As angels are often messengers, I also think it's helpful to call upon their aid when working with other spirits!

Working with angels of various functions. Modern day Rabbis often marry angelic theology with scientific phenomena, with angels overseeing the process. By that extent, we could ask those angels for help/guidance when relevant!

Protection. Psalm 91, often recited for protection, depicts HaShem commanding angels on your behalf to guard you in all ways. One bedtime prayer names the four archangels to surround us.

Shalom Aleichem is traditionally sung on Friday nights before Shabbat dinner. It invites angels of peace to basically come and hang out with us during shabbat, then to leave in peace once shabbat is over. Many arrangements also make a good lullaby.

Other Notes

Metatron (מֶטָטְרוֹן) is a specifically-Jewish angel who gets appropriated a lot in spiritual circles. He does not appear in the Tanakh, but is mentioned in the Talmud and largely fleshed out in kabbalistic literature! (Islamic literature does mention him by different name, ميططرون, Mitatrun/Mitatrush. Solidarity.)Lots of people recognize Lilith as closed, but the same attention hasn't been given to Metatron. He's a very complex and ambiguous figure worth a whole post of his own so I won't get into it here!

This post is by no means comprehensive! This is just a very "quick" overview of a very rich field of study.

Hi! I don't know if you'll have an answer to this but I have two questions I just can't figure out on my own and I wanted to see if you could help.

First question, what is the difference between your aura and your energy? I've seen some bloggers say "x's person energy is this color" and I also know auras have color, but I can't see those so I was wondering if they're two terms used for the same thing, or if there's a difference (and if so, what that difference would be).

And my second question, more like an issue is this: I feel like my guides don't want me to know something? Either that or they're avoiding me or I just suck at talking to them. I know they're here with mez they confirm their existence constantly, but for some reason, when I ask them this specific question I have, they just ignore me? I'll ask for confirmation about this thing like "if yes, send me this, if it's a no, send this instead" because I thought that way they'd give me an answer, right? But no, whenever I ask about this specific issue pertaining my personal life, it just seems like I'm speaking to the air because I don't get confirmation on either way. Is this normal? Do you know if there's a reason this is happening?

I understand if you don't have any advice (especially about that last one) but you seem fairly knowledgeable in the topic and like you're in good terms with your guides so I thought it was worth a try. Thanks for reading!

If I had it describe how I personally see it, it’s like the energy is the body and the aura the clothes. So I don’t know whether people confuse the 2 being the same thing, but a person mostly is seen as what their aura is like. It’s like.. you know how you behave one way with strangers and another with friends? People who are close to you know how you really are, they know your energy and what you are like, even if your aura/the way you behave is different. Your energy is the true you, something not all people are able to see. But I guess people mean ‘’general energy’’. Auras change. Which is why the energy of my blog, the energy I put in it, changed as well (for the people who complimented me for it, thank you! but i think you did notice it’s different than from a month ago :D). So shortly, we all have different layers of auras but the one we see most is the one you feel from another person. You feel what they might be like. But the Aura depends on the person’s thoughts, actions and beliefs, so they might have a completely different energy underneath. It’s like painting with color A and overpainting it with color B, color A is still there, but you don’t really see it because of color B. (Hope that wasn’t too confusing).

I had the same problem recently! It just means that they gave you everything you needed as guidance and wait for you to act on it. Not long ago I actually was pretty frustrated because like, I have this irl problem and kept asking my guides for like, 7-8 months on what I should do. But nothing, no matter how much I prayed or talked or meditated nothing helped. I then asked a friend of mine to give me some cards and they said that I have everything I need. I just need to find the courage to do things myself and not be so dependant on them. Slowly I eventually got out of that and get guidance after taking that action, leap of faith, but it’s not because you’re bad at talking to them. Your guides ALWAYS hear you. Their YOUR guides, after all. They are meant to support and guide you, their purpose is that! So they find ways to give you  guidance in a way you can notice. You just have to be open for that. Or, if it’s something specific you ask about, maybe you aren’t meant to know yet. Like, thoughts can influence our life very much, in a whole new direction. Knowing the answer might take you to a path you aren’t meant to go (yet). Maybe you don’t have to know or ask for confirmation - maybe you have the answers inside you. Your soul knows what it wants, and it’s tricky to know about it since our mind and heart get in the way, but trust your soul. Trust yourself. Trust that you are powerful and that you have everything you need right now. Everything right now is exactly as it’s supposed to be because it was set up like this by universe. Trust in that. And don’t be discouraged. Listening to yourself doesn’t mean you can’t ask your guides. You can, just sometimes, especially when we can’t stand up for ourselves, we get lessons like these to prove that we are powerful and that we can stand up for ourselves!

the gods show you the version of themselves that you need most, your experiences won't be identical to other worshippers/devotees out there because you are different from others and that's okay. that just adds to how beautiful the connection to the theoi really is.
