Magic is an inherently mysterious thing but there is a strange logic to its nature. Describing said nature is a difficult thing. How does one describe something that can never truly be known?
The answer for most of history? poorly. Practitioners of the arcane arts are not known for straightforward explanations. I will do my best to explain the basic mechanics:
The Law of Contagion: Once together, always together. The part of the thing is the whole of the thing. By performing magic on a strand of your hair, one can effect your entire body. The more intimate the connection, the more powerful the effect. A cigarette butt you smoked will have almost no effect, but a phial of your blood will be extremely effective. Magic using this law is known as Thaumaturgy.
The Law of Sympathy: Like attracts like. The image is the thing. A drawing or representation of something can gain its properties. A photo or drawing of you will have a similar thaumaturgical connection to you. Combining sympathy and contagion is the basis for poppet magic.
The Law of Correspondence: As Above, So Below. The gods are like us and we are like them. When viewed closely, atoms resemble solar systems. The big effects the small. The idea that there is a sort of harmony between similar patterns no matter their size. This is the basis behind astrological magic.
The Law of Resistance: Some things are more magically conductive than other things. Everything exists on a spectrum of âmagicalâ to âmundaneâ and the less magic something is, the harder it is to effect with magic. The same extends to people who, for whatever the reason, simply have a harder time being interacting with magic.Â
The Law of Balance: Magic seeks equilibrium, and therefore, every magical action has a cost. No magical act takes place without some sort of power behind it. Energy will not move unless something is moving it, be it a practitioner or the natural energy of the moon. A body in motion will stay in motion, a body at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force.
The Law of Reciprocity: If you donât know where its pointed, its pointed at you. If it doesnât have enough energy, it will get get energy from you. The process of getting hit with your own improperly constructed spell is known as Recoil. Safe practice often involves setting up wards to act as a barrier between you and any mistakes.
The Law of Reversal: That which is done by magic can be undone by magic. For every spell there is a counterspell, for every ritual a counterritual. Every ward can be hexed, every curse can be dispelled. This does not mean countermeasure will be easy or efficient.
Magic exists. But donât fool yourself into seeing it where it isnât.
When your dream is about something you saw, heard or thought about in the last few days, it means nothing.
If you watched a documentary about tigers and you dream of a tiger, that is not a divine message. It is just your mind processing information.
But if you dream of being in a medieval banquet, when you have not watched an Arthurian film in months and have not thought about buffets in days, then you might be wandering in a past life.
When you are sleepy or lost in thought, and you find yourself seeing, hearing or smelling things that are not there, they mean nothing.
If you are daydreaming about going to Disneyland and you suddenly hear the sound of a carousel, you simply have an active imagination.
But if you are very focused on finishing a paper, and the words on your screen suddenly warp into the shape of a rollercoaster, then you are having a waking vision.
When the images you see are merely derived from the colors or marks on your scrying instrument, then you are not scrying.
If your crystal ball has a scratch in the shape of a musical note, and you see a piano, your mind is simply thinking creatively.
But if your scrying mirror is entirely spotless, and yet from its center, you see a detailed portrait emerging, only then are you really scrying.
When what you see on your altar are slight movements that take only a moment, your god did not create them.
If you are looking at Venusâ portrait while praying to her, and you see her smile for a second, you are only imagining it.
But if you see her running her hand through her hair while you hear the soft sound of her fingers against it, then she is hearing your prayer and enjoying your presence.
unworthy â If a person or thing is unworthy of something good, they believe they do not deserve it.
many of us get in that position of finally wanting to do something better for ourselves and start to manifest what we truly want but that feeling of empowerment becomes overshadowed by the feeling of unworthiness.
feelings of unworthiness can linger from time to time and impact our lives, they trap and imprison us from fulfilling any sense of individuality.
why do we feel this way?
this certain feeling can stem from many things e.g past situations, i know i felt unworthy for a long time because my self-worth depended on others
many people feel unworthy because they compare themselves to others and their own personal achievements or they feel used to settling because it became uncomfortable for them to want the best for themselves.
with these situations we take them with us to later punish ourselves with. for example i might wear a crop top and get laughed at, with this experience i take it with me and decide to never wear a crop top again.
how to stop feeling this way?
IDENTIFYING WITH THE INNER MAN.
when we feel unworthy itâs because we identify and think from, feel from and assume from our limited selves.
when we identify with the inner man, the inner man that has no form. the inner man that has no shame, no guilt, no sense of unworthiness and gives itself everything it so desires we can easily express what we want without an unwanted feeling in its presence.
the inner man is completely free. you allow that inner man to explore. you allow yourself to experience what it feels like to not be chained down to past experiences & past feelings.
I am told, "God is in heaven and does whatever He pleases." God speaks and says, "If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it."
Do not be afraid but IDENTIFY yourself FULLY with the INNER MAN. The immortal you. The one that can do ANYTHING it wants. The one who owns the world and all that is in it. I am serious when I say this, I am not using hyperbole. If you identify yourself with the inner man, you will be free. â EdwardArt.
how to identify with the âinner man?â
when i say inner man, i donât mean to turn this into some quick technique in âhopesâ of identifying with the inner man, donât overcomplicate and rather just be.
ASK YOURSELF: how would i feel if i was finally free? idk how you would feel because i am not you. this is your own personal realised feeling.
what i like to do is visualise running into the ocean and jumping in. i feel the coldness of the water, i feel the cold winds brushing past me. to me this is freedom.
"Identify yourself with the one within and give yourself what you want with FEELING." â EdwardArt
and my personal note to you is, donât hold back because youâre so used to familiar patterns. you deserve to go above and beyond and dive deeper into things you want. yes, even when youre scared, even when you feel unworthy.
you are not a feeling, you are not a state, you are simply your imagination occupying states that you can simply leave & enter again.
you as the inner man are invincible. free. the inner man doesnât ask for permission, the inner doesnât fret about âis it mine?â âam i doing if right?â âam i worthy of thisâ it just DOES WHATEVER IT WANTS TO DO.
it reminds me of this quote
everything is easier once you stop forcing control but allow yourself to just BE. identifying with the inner man enables you to no longer worry because everything is being taken care of.
if this concept is new to you id recommend reading this post of edwardart and also taking your time. you donât need to immediately get this and understand it perfectly, test it. find out how to make this process more natural for you.
after all, this is your own journey and you will get there.
this is not wasted time. time spent healing and growing and letting yourself feel all the things is never wasted.
May we have the courage and sensibility to feel all the things that can't be seen.

Thank you to the both of you for taking time to answer my queries! I read all the posts that were attached to the link and I've been meditating more often. The spirit/god that you've met seems quite interesting. Can you tell more about his identity, origins and characteristics?(if it's allowed or if you're comfortable sharing) does he know about loa? also, what are some special precautions I should take to not aggravate deities or spirits because I'm not trying to get struck down, you see.
So he is the Christiant/Catholic God/deity but when asked, he said he would be fine/would prefer also being called Mica. A few traits of his is
He has a favorite voice but he still tries to check out different voices for himself (his favorite voice sounds like the narrator from Stanley's Parable but deeper). His voice is loud and he commonly voice cracks which is incredibly funny now that I write about it
He likes songs from any genre but he prefers songs that are vocal based (he once said he liked All too Well until someone sang it one too many times in heaven, now he just doesn't). Whenever those songs pop up, he doesn't sing along but he does hum and compliments the artists voice
When he doesn't like something, he usually says something along the lines of "As long as one of my children likes it, then I will accept it", but he also does a kind of discontented "hmm" or a straight-up no sometimes đ
He says very very random facts when I'm just doing something throughout the day. "If the United States follows Jus Soli then pepperoni pizza is American and not Italian" or "Humans were actually designed to exist on water but live on land" or "I had modeled Jesus from one of my favorite creations, the lizard!" and no, he just does not elaborate on any of these
He is a confused but supportive man! If he doesn't like what you're doing, he just sighs and makes a comment about free will and how he can't do anything about this
He doesn't have a physical form, he even makes jokes about this. He would often say, "If I had eyes, I would close them and never open them again" or "At times like this, I'm glad I never gave myself a nose". He said he can give himself a physical form but since he's not required to, he simply won't. He said, physically he has no gender but he prefers He for now. He said any pronoun is acceptable for him but he just prefers getting called He
I asked him about his origins before but he simply doesn't know the answer. "One day, I just realized I existed. I think for a long time, I just existed without ever realizing that I did. I will never remember where I began but I know that I will not end at the very least and so I am content with knowing that I am not completely all-knowing", was his answer
He does know about Loa! He's not bothered by affirmations like "I am God" because he knows its in reference to power, not religion. He's aware of the existence of other gods and deities in other dimensions/worlds/realities and he accepts that too
I was watching this kdrama called Business Proposal and like, when a certain scene happened, his voice came on and he sounded SO whiny, "he isn't good for you! Leave him :((" and I fell over laughing, "Don't laugh at me, I'm right :((("
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS YOU CAN TAKE;
> Ask , establish , and follow some boundaries between you and your deity of choice
> As much as possible, be respectful. Some gods and deities understand the slang but they also know when ur purposefully being mean so be respectful as much as possible
> And don't try to anger them on purpose. Christian God is fine with like, playful fighting but don't get him angry. (Or any spirit that is powerful, angry)
!! Thank you for sharing so much :)
A couple of years ago I dreamt of a wandering a hallway that reminded me of what people may walk through in an old prestigious academic institution. In my wandering, I would curiously open doors-not to find anything but to explore. At one point I opened a door and found a humanoid looking entity glowing, flashing, and shifting from one part of a large open room to another with intense speed.
I asked if it was an angel in anyway, and without hesitation of thought or movement it projected, âWe are all an aspect of God!â I was then guided out of the room by someone/something behind me, only to realize I was in a completely different room that gave me library vibes. I say this only because I was not focused on the room itself but who was in it.
A very tall golden man with illuminating eyes of a vibrant blue color walked directly into my focus and almost seemed to lower himself or help me adjust my line of sight because he was just THAT BIG. He came off as strong and capable- making me feel secure & safe within his presence. His smile wide and brilliant. He was so friendly!
Now here comes the clever part!
âWho are you?â, I asked.
âMy name is Miguel.â His eyes gazed at me softly, but maintained their power and steadiness.
I instantly responded with recognition due to my two years of required foreign language in high-school, â Oh, thatâs Michael in English! So Archangel Michael??â He nodded with gentle encouragement as he ushered for another man who looked exactly like him - a twin I thought- who had the same fiery eyes in radiant purple to stand next to him and introduce himself.
âAnd what about him? What is your name?â
âMy name is Raguel.â He smiled just the same. The gears in my head stopped turning.
âIâm sorry donât know that name in Spanish??â I definitely never heard of an angel named Raguel either. I woke up. I figured what I dreamt of was not a real spiritual encounter but just my brains projection of one in a dream.
I proceeded to look up the name to attempt to find the English equivalent, only to get search results pertaining to:
When I thought about it, I realized that Michael may have used Spanish to help me retain Raguelâs name, because when Iâm in a dream (thatâs not lucid) information is instantly deemed as made up & unreal if it is not something that I perceive to be real during my waking life. So I will instantly discard it. So the fact that he used Spanish made me curious about the the possible âSpanishâ name I never heard of.
If you are wondering how my mental health is i just accidentally swallowed a tooth and that should be enough information for today
