He spoke often of the damages caused by radical regimes and fascism. He also called up churches in war zones and such to check if they needed help from the Vatican. He often left his palace and preformed work even most cardinals would consider “beneath someone of their standing”.

Overall he was legit a man of god who practiced the word more than any pope in our modern time. The Catholic Church is lesser for his death and while I have issue with the church he wasn’t a problem by a long shot.
