i'll never stop thinking how they casually dropped the "why do i feel like you will be the death of me?" line between obi-wan and anakin and moved on like it never happend
So I was going through a drawer of stuff from when I was little and I found this…
padme saying “i don’t know you anymore” the key to it all maybe..she’s fought with anakin before, she’s witnessed him do terrible things, but she’s never felt like she didn’t know him. their backstories parallel each other, they both had stolen childhoods, padme would’ve felt like anakin was one of the few people in the galaxy who could understand her—and in turn, she one of the few who could understand him. her “i don’t know you anymore” comes with an implied “and you must not have known me as as well as i thought, because this isn’t what i want.” she’s mourning the loss of her first (and really, only) real connection to another human in that scene. is it a little fucked for her prioritize that connection over the suffering of others? well yes . but also very romantic ...
Reverse Star Wars AU writing challenge: every time canon fridges a mother, fridge the father instead. Every time a woman dies for the sake of Manpain™️, kill off the dude instead.
(I know this gets particularly complicated with Obi-Wan, because his woman-who-died-in-my-arms count is in the double digits at this point, but I have faith fandom can find a way.)
The only rule is that the story cannot be about a man. It cannot be about man angst. It has to center the women.
the way that history must weigh upon the mind of the living in order for anyone to move forward….
Ao3 being down is actually so validating bc this proves it's not just my fanfiction addiction preventing me from doing Stuff, I can avoid Stuff just fine on my own
"Nice characters are boring" to YOU. I love characters who no matter what, will always have genuine love for humanity in their heart. Characters who dance and laugh and sing with sincerity. Characters who believe in others, and are willing to extend a helping hand to people when no one gave them the same luxury. Characters who have gone through so much but believe, no matter what, that humanity and life is something beautiful and worth protecting
I know I'm not the only one to notice this, but osha's tattoo is incredibly similar to the BTS logo ...Osha is a space ARMY? Sparmy? Probably Jungkook biased imo
"padme enabled anakin" ppl just don't get it. She wanted to be him almost as much as she wanted to be with him.
i think it’s prettty important that padme is the one who says “to be angry is to be human.” padme, the person who, throughout the entire saga, is allowed to express her anger the least. she stays composed when decrying the senate. she balances feeling betrayed by anakin with trying to talk him down. padme’s been a diplomat since 14. it would take years of unlearning for her to access anakin’s naked, messy rage. and for her to assert that volatility is part of being alive? padme knows she’s been denied her humanity. and she can only hope for moments of escape: she can never regain it completely.
