everything about the clones’ existence makes me so unwell. it’s like. you are a copy of a man who is a killer but he is also a father and he is whip-smart and tough but he’s a simple man and he asks for one thing when he agrees to be cloned and it’s a son. and you grow up to look just like this man but you are not his son you are his paycheck
The four penguins from Madagascar are, somehow, isekaied in the middle of the clone wars
i could add a few more stages to grief if they let me
what’s a polite way of saying that discourse (an utterly meaningless word) around saw gererra annoys you greatly because no one is ever gonna get the nuance they want out of his character because his primary appearances are in children’s shows meaning that he’s always going to be portrayed in a negative light bc shows made for children have simple morals that can’t really account for the nuance of the necessity of far-left action and/or terrorism and also his character was made by a company that has military contracts meaning that he will also always be portrayed negatively because the concept of a radical partisan is frighting to the status quo regardless of how politically adept Andor might seem but no one ever includes that nuance when discussing his character so everyone argues in circles until the sun burns out and we all hate each other
"Anakin was manipulated by palpatine" "palpatine groomed Anakin to become his apprentice" do u ever think about how palpatine came from a planet with a history of young queens who were democratically elected, got his own massive political power with help from his sith master and not by his own merit, then took advantage of padme to achieve greater power bc he knew she'd do anything to save Naboo from the crisis he initiated?
Like obvs there's a lot of things that make palps a Bad Guy, but I just feel like crimes against Naboo, Naboo's culture and history, and padme in particular are too often overlooked. Padme was not naive, she just didn't expect the man who represented the interests of her whole planet (and 35 other planets also btw) to have organized an invasion of their shared home world. Justice for my girl
Star wars fans try not to fall for anti-radical pro-police propaganda challenge level impossible
What is with this fandom being willing to find (and make) every reason under the sun to absolve Fox of literally shooting Fives dead but still insisting on blaming Saw for Tech's death?!?
i don’t know how some of you can go “well naboo ALWAYS elected teen girls to rule them, it’s tradition!” then just leave it at that. like i think there’s a lot to interrogate here lmao
I 100% thought vernestra was supposed to be an entirely different alien species bc she does NOT look Mirialan 😮💨
I still can’t believe they went from this in Attack of the Clones (2002) to this in The Acolyte (2024) even though they’re both portraying Mirialan Jedi Masters.
Vernestra looks like they just slapped some green make-up and some eyeliner dots on the actress and called it a day. It’s awful, especially since she has so many close-ups. Twenty-two years ago they made Luminara look like an actual humanoid alien, with beautiful details in both costume and make-up. Even though she's basically a background character, she looks so much more natural as a Jedi.

i'll do you one better than princess ahsoka: princess ahsoka with bodyguard barriss

big fan of padmé traits that people like to dismiss as inconsistencies or writing flaws or reasons to dislike her. love how she’s idealistic to a fault. love her moral inconsistencies. love her staunch refusal to not see the best in those she loves. i find it much more fun to engage with these aspects of her than decry them as making no sense
