so I've been thinking about that post where someone calls zoro luffy's dog mid fight. I need to see that happen in canon. there's no way it hasn't been said before. I can already picture zoro's big grin as he says the gayest thing a man can say in shonen.

are you really an ao3 user if you've never read a >50k fanfic that is incredibly fucking good, much much better than any original work out there, with eloquent writing so deep and poetic that you have to pause after every few sentences, process it and scream into a muffled pillow?

bonus if you're supposed to be studying for something or other but decided to read just one more chapter, and finished the whole thing :')

I feel like we don't talk enough about this particular scene??? like how zoro's resting stoic(?) face turns into a little smile that gradually gets wider as he looks at his captain?? and i didn't really save the video version of this, but the way zoro softly says "luffy" like, what the fudge...

And zoro casually smirking at his captain while the rest of the strawhats were like "???" Idk but he really is the one who gets his captain the most?? and this has been proven from time to time throughout the animanga and i have also talked about this topic before... somewhere around here.

Like trust in zoro's ability to be the first to immediately connect/get what's on his captain's mind!! and even at times when he can't instantly know what's on luffy's mind, he trusts his captain enough to always (almost always?) react appropriately

I also love how zoro's smile comes naturally and easily when aimed/directed at luffy? Like he really is the only first mate ever, i'm completely normal about these two🫠

The amount of sweetness in the scent reminded Zoro of the time he encountered someone, an omega, who happened to be in heat. But this one was bizarredly way stronger that it almost left him crumbling down to his knees, as if it was one for Zoro to worship and cherish.
