reason under the cut!
*In case anyone’s confused, Sundew is confirmed to be canonically Sapphic and WLW, but NOT specifically that she’s lesbian, due to the fact that none of the (queer) characters’ specific sexualities are confirmed within the series (excluding Umber), whether it be within the books and/or by the author herself. Therefore, Sundew being Lesbian is a headcanon instead of something that’s (confirmed) within canon, due to Sundew’s specific sexuality not being confirmed within any canon source of the series.
Anyways, into the headcanon we go!
Sundew is canonically has a girlfriend within the series, whose name is Willow. Their relationship is seen throughout Sundew’s own book, The Poison Jungle, which is book 13 of series.
Also, when Sundew is reunited with Willow after not seeing her for a few days, Sundew uses her leafspeak (her magical plant-growing powers) to instantly grow violets around them.
Violets are the flower shown within the Sapphic flag, though are more known to be (specifically) associated with lesbians throughout queer history. Due to the flowers being associated with the poet Sappho who lived on an Island called Lesbos, who wrote romantic poetry about women and mentioned flowers - including violets - and the color violet within her poetry as well.
Also, the trivia part of Sundew’s wiki page of the Wings of Fire wiki mentioned this about Sundew and Violets:
“When Sundew is reunited with Willow, the former uses her leafspeak to make violets grow in between them. Violets and their coloration have been used as a special code by lesbian and bisexual women throughout history.”
So yeah - maybe that’s quite a bit of a stretch, but I believe that helps supports my headcanon that Sundew is lesbian as well.
The Jade Winglet, all together!
figured i would share my anomalocaris fan tribe from like 2022 here . might revamp them bc the idea is there yk
I see a lot of ‘cis’ women say they wish they were androgynous in the way men were or they wish they were pretty in the way men were. This is your sign to go try to do that. You may find you enjoy being an androgynous woman. You may find you no longer identify as a woman. You may find you don’t like androgyny. You will not know until you try. Cut your hair if you’ve always wanted to but have been afraid to. Shop in the men’s section if you’ve been too nervous to. Wear clothing with an androgynous silhouette. Experiment with binding, take baby steps with compression bras if you want. Wear unisex scents. Live life. Try things you want to try. A lot of cis women do not understand the joys of mens pants and mens deodorant. I think everyone should try both of those things.
je suis une aile de ciel 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Heya Guys, I made a Uquiz, let's see what you'll get
I hate seeing people hate on Tui. Like, I know she’s not the perfect author and she’s made some mistakes, but people will say really mean things about her and even call her an awful author. It’s clear she loves Wings of Fire. As an aspiring writer, it’s almost intimidating and discouraging seeing how the fandom treats Tui.
Agreed.
I remember once talking to my partner about the Dragonslayer book (which I have not read myself). I told him I hope there is a scene in there where Sunny does something normal and non-threatening and somehow ends up misinterpreted as a horrifying nightmare creature by a bunch of clueless scavengers with overactive imaginations.
I've sat here for about an hour now, trying to decide whether I should tag this as "violent" or not. On the one hand, it really isn't; it's just strawberry juice after all. On the other hand maybe the evocative imagery in the first panel is transcending the actual reality of the situation. I've decided to leave it as is for the time being. If this imagery upsets you though, please let me know so I can figure out a way to deal with that in the future. Maybe I can make up a new tag or something.

These two are at war with each other so naturally they hate each other but both are drawn to each other since they both know the stresses of being a queen. This is what drew them together plus the begrudging respect on how both of them are able to one up each other in war. When one side gains the upper hand the other comes up with a strategy to turn the tides back in their favor. This builds respect but also anger and resentment since they are losing dragons.
Since they are at war with each other how will they grapple with the fact they have feelings for their enemy? They would have to keep their feelings a secret between them or else a massive Royal scandal will occur. They will kill any dragon including advisors if they even think they are starting to grow suspicious. So they send letters mad at the loss of advisors or dragons fallen in war and how their army will reach their kingdom and tear it down but beneath the anger is a sense of longing and how they will be the one to deal the final blow to other and how the winner will hold the loser and look them in the eyes as the life fades form their eyes.
How will they end up? Will one finally manage to kill the other leaving nothing behind a feeling of triumph overshadowed by loss and longing? Will they both kill each other in battle with both of them finally being able to embrace each other as their lives come to an end? Will it be an enemies to lovers story to do what Arctic and Foeslayer couldn't? Or will it end like it did in canon the Nighwings leaving and both Queens feeling and immense longing and rage at the fact they weren't able to finish the job? Idk and honestly that is up to you to explore.
The sheer amount of potential this ship has is massive in the ways how the characters will react to their feelings, how they express them or if they try to hide it how their facade falters, and how their story will end. The possibilities and scenarios these ships have is immense and it's why you should ship Diamond x Vigilance.
I know it's a kids series but I am up at night thinking that Smolder has a secret life where he works as a steakhouse chef where he puts on shows while he cooks meat that he sells
.
sgarf :)
I still think it's kind of funny how Winter came across the most pathetic, traumatized, sopping wet NightWing in Pyrrhia and STILL immediately assumed that she was evil.
He looked at THIS
And was like, "I can't trust her. She's probably already plotting 17 different ways to kill me!"
