A friend of mine, aware of the Larry fandom but not in it (despite my best efforts to pull her in, muaaaaahahahahahaha) was discussing with me earlier today if Louis and Harry were being hurt not just by management’s stifling of them, but by some of the more die hard fans not backing off and whether the censoring they have to do in public would be harmful to their relationship regardless of if it’s platonic or romantic. One of the things I said to her was that all they had to do was say, much like Louis did when asked if he and Zayn were an item, that no, they’re not a couple. Just give a flat out denial, and that would be that. I contended the lack of a clear denial when asked a direct question about it was one of the reasons Larry shippers continue to believe. To illustrate my point, I showed her the MuchMusic interview from May 31, last year and a language analysis with a transcript of the video. There was some logic she had trouble with, so I asked her if she could take a look and see what she saw on her own. Given that her college studies centered around cultural behavior with LGBT emphasis and how it infiltrates everything from literature to religion, I figure she was more than qualified to offer her opinion. She agreed to give it a look and do her own analysis, focusing on both verbal and body language.

do yourself a favor and don’t think about teeny tiny little 16yo baby legume harold looking into his future and seeing current harry. standing there in his frankly alarmingly enormous pants and giant ass grape shoes and pop-collared polo shirts and being met with this literally stunning vision of himself at 21. tall and lean and tattooed, majestic mermaid hair falling past his shoulders, draped in the most beautifully crafted clothes anyone could ask for - florals, animal prints, satin, silk, velvet, exquisite embroidery. rings and bracelets and pearl necklaces. hats galore. berets, even! boots made of gold and glitter and pink and silver, all to match his heart. suede and skin-tight denim. long wool coats and tattered old band t-shirts (bands he’s seen and even met, now). big cozy jumpers and t-shirts his boyfriend steals because they smell like home. whatever you do…don’t….think about that.
