I'm researching the era when Alastor was alive right now to get a better idea of both his character, the life he lived before Hell, and to hash out a backstory for him.

And so, apparently, Alastor lived through the Prohibition (which was basically the United States government illegalizing the manufacture, transportation, and sale of alcohol because they thought it was the cause of a lot of domestic violence and child abandonment).

Alastor canonically died in 1933.

Do you know how long the Prohibition lasted?

From 1920-1933.

ALASTOR LITERALLY DIED THE SAME YEAR ALCOHOL BECAME LEGAL AGAIN. CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW BITTER HE MUST'VE BEEN?

The Prohibition officially ended on December 5, 1933, and now my headcanon is that Alastor died December 6, 1933. Literally the day after he could legally drink all the booze he wanted.

I am learning a LOT about New Orleans and the era Alastor lived through (including the gay community in the city at the time) which has been a lot of fun, and I just wanted to share that tidbit because it is so fucking funny to me.

You keep saying Alastor is "Aro" and having him do all sort of romantic shit, including but not limited to kiss Lucifer like six times. No, that's not Aro. Not wanting a label or a committed relationship is not the same as being Aro, and it's weird you keep doing that because clearly you ship them romantically. If you didn't comment on the aro "nature" of your comic, nobody would have even notice because that's how much NOT ARO is. You just want to have the cake and it eat.

I really disagree. I’m making a sincere effort to depict a specific shade of aromanticism in a shipping context. A lot of it is based on my own experience. How someone views something as romantic vs platonic is not based on some concrete formula, so I think it’s unfair of you to make the assertion that the actions I depicted can ONLY be viewed as romantic. I’m trying to represent a complex experience, so I’m sure there are going to be folks who interpret something I make as romantic when I don’t intend for it to be motivated by romantic attraction.

And if you don’t believe me, that’s your prerogative but pls leave me alone.

I’ve also received feedback from aro folks who have relayed to me that they feel represented by the comics I’m making or that it’s helped them investigate what their boundaries are, which is really cool to me.

I got a laptop with Windows 11 for an IT course so I can get certified, and doing the first time device set-up for it made me want to commit unspeakable violence

Windows 11 should not exist, no one should use it for any reason, it puts ads in the file explorer and has made it so file searches are also web searches and this cannot be turned off except through registry editing. Whoever is responsible for those decisions should be killed, full stop.

Switch to linux, it's free and it's good.
