The Whole Entire Break Ive Been Busy Af And Haven’t Been Able To Do Things I Really Wanted To Do But

*peeks* h-hey there…. Its been a while hasn’t it? Sorry i haven’t been posting at all even though its fucking summer vacation. I suddenly dipped into a major art slump (its not that I dont know what to draw its more of I hate everything I draw) and I wanted to wait until I could make something of semi- good quality again.

So here’s this Frisk that I doodled in a sketchbook and then tried to digitalize. It shouldn’t have taken this long but of course I went overboard.

Like the fucking comparison of time and though taken for both of these, the gegg was like 2 minutes and Error I took several days

OK FIRST OFF: EDRIC

I’ve always thought that Edric was sort of pushed off to the side a little and Emira took most of the uh spotlight ig? Like sure they both showed up at the same time but I think she tends to have more lines or like she picks on him directly making him seem sorta ‘weaker’ ?? I love the foreshadowing with some things though like the beast keeping hobby.

In the episode Adventures in the Elements, Edric said he wanted to keep that bat thing as a pet and in the end I guess they did let him keep it as a pet! Its the same one he has with him throughout the episode. I’m not sure if they ever alluded to the potions thing tho but I’m glad they had a bit of a closure with his “mistake” in the end. Eda telling him that the serum he made actually is super cool and she’d be able to sell it helps console him.

Then we return to the normal dynamic when Eda throws the shirt at him and Emira butts in front and interrupts his sentence. It’s sorta like showing his whole… uh thing with Emira or whatever isn’t going to change nor will it solve his “not being taken seriously” thing but helping Eda has still helped with his confidence too.

Gaster just has a very simple face. You kinda have to work to get it detailed enough that it’s hard to do in a 10 sec sketch

yeah, exactly XD i did redraw the base oval a couple times just so it wasn’t completely lopsided or more of a spiral than a closed shape, but it didn’t take me long to get a good one and after that is was just eyes, mouth, cracks, boom he’s done. flowey’s on almost the same level of simplicity, i felt like a little kid again drawing him XD

yep, that -_- is pretty much their trademark, it’s great XD

tbh the generally simple and straightforward character design of undertale is one of its strongest features; you can boil these characters down to the barest caricatures and they’re still recognizable. that’s some really good character design, and i love it. ^^

Just realized but why did Belos order Hunter to slay a selkidomus in Separate Tides? He only asked for it to be slayed, not for any of its parts or whatever to be collected. He used selkidomus scales to build grimwalkers and it would make sense if he wanted any part of the beast to be scavenged but Hunter didn’t even check the body to see if it was killed.
