Yeah Yeah Rabbit Hybrid C!dream Because He's A Prey Animal And Knows It, Because If They Catch You They

Here's a few strange habits of mine that i think/have been told are c!dream reminiscent; feel free to include any in ur own head canons if you feel they fit ; v ;

Climbing trees!

Pesifically as high as i can get without the branches giving up on me, i used to do it just to prove i could catch myself when i was younger. Now i just like to sit in the tree tops, it makes me feel powerful for whatever reason. (was raised by cats so that might explain, same with perching on high surfaces in general)

Sleeping in odd places!

Like i physically can't fall asleep unless i am wedged between at lest two things. Always in small or hard to get to places, bonus points if i can camouflage myself. (Master of hide and go seek, i have won several times by straight up passing out in a physically implausible place)

Laying under bushes..

Strangest way i comfort myself is by finding a dark corner of the yard and just chilling in the moss. I call it corpse time, sounds mental but pretending like I'm rotting in the woods makes me feel useful somehow. (Got over my fear of bugs by doing this often when i was a kid)

Keeping a physical book on people...

(They know i do this and are okay w it btw)

Memory issues kick my ass but one way i circumvent this is by having a little notebook where i basically have a character page on all of my friends. I do this so i don't end up with a twisted perception of my favorite people, also to note down all the things they like because my love language is presenting offerings. (Started doing this after gaslighting myself one too many times, i note things down pretty clinically so i can assess people by their actions)

So, if in the finale c!Dream’s helmet, that he takes off for c!Tommy, represents his mask, does that mean that when c!Sapnap puts on c!Dream’s armor, Nightmare, he is putting on and stealing c!Dream’s mask? - Because I’m not gonna lie that really puts a new perspective on that betrayal… Furthermore, when c!Techno brings c!Dream armor in prison, did he make him a mask and bring it to him… and then take away the mask later? - If so, again that’s kinda screwed up. Though you could argue that perhaps he made c!Dream a mask for the jailbreak so he had one to face the server with and then because they were trying to not seem like allies he took it back, knowing that c!Dream would get another one. Which also begs the question, did c!Punz make c!Dream a mask for after prison or is he simply handing over one of c!Dream’s masks?… When c!Tommy in the minecart skirmish stole c!Dream’s armor, was he taunting him with his own mask? - Because oof that’s some serious violation and disrespect…

In other words, if you think that c!Dream’s helmet in the finale represents the mask (which I’d say is implied by c!Tommy) does that same logic apply across the board or is it just for that moment? And if it does apply to rest of the lore, wow does that have some implications…

Rewatching VODs again and it's sad to see how at the start of his imprisonment, Dream was trying so hard to downplay the prison's conditions and stay optimistic about them.

During Tommy's first visit, he says to Tommy, "It's not too bad, right? I can write and I can read and they bring me food." He talks about the new game he can play with his clock.

When Bad visits, Dream admits that Sam sometimes gives him less food when he burns his clock, but that he's not starving because he "[has] potatoes." He says that Sam is "treating [him] amazing" and that he's fine when Bad asks him if he's okay.

Tommy visits him again a month after the first visit, and by then Dream's attitude has changed entirely. Tommy says he's been suffering from success, and Dream replies, "Me too. Except for without the success part, just suffering." Then when Quackity visits him the first time and asks how he's been, Dream only says, "I've been."

Later after Techno gets locked up with Dream, he no longer attempts to downplay anything. Techno jokingly complains about Dream not being positive, and Dream can only think of saying, "Since you've been in here, I haven't been tortured. So I'll give you that much, that's been better." He tells Techno how there's absolutely nothing to do in the cell and how he's been eating nothing but "raw, disgusting potatoes" for the past months.  

Dream did his best to convince himself and others that everything would be fine, that he could deal with the prison's conditions. He tells Sam that he thought the prisoner (himself) "would be fine with potatoes, would be fine with not seeing the courtyard." That he didn't realize how bad it would be. But the longer his imprisonment lasted, the harder it became to deal with it. Dream tries one last time to ask Sam for better food and to see the courtyard and then is forced to give up, trapped behind glass and with no hope of ever getting out.

Just now seeing TVNAT au and i might be falling in love with it just a little bit.

I wanted to ask how this version of dream sees himself? As someone who struggles with dissociation a lot and happens to be guilty of projecting onto our favorite villain, I'm curious on how the lack of pain and having gotten used to "playtime" would affect how he views his body

I remember pretty clearly how such a disconnect with my body and the things it felt would make me think of it more like an object, i thought that might be something interesting to play around with. Does he think of himself like a doll, knowing how easily his limbs can come apart just to be put back together? Does he see himself as one whole or does he see his body as more of a toy?

TVNAT!Dream sees himself as a 'tool' and has always been a mean to an end. He doesn't treasure it in the sense that he doesn't care about the amount of harm inflicted on it, but he also adores his body in the sense that it remembers all the experiences it went through. Is it complicated? Yes, but in his mind that is how it works.

He cares and doesn't care for his body at the same time. He would destroy it without a thought but also cradle it with care. Losing his sense of pain only further fuel his dissociation.

However, it did make him extra tanky. In addition to the fact that he is essentially immortal due to the revival book, he is an unstoppable force should he decide to go after someone.
