I’m honestly tired of seeing the unnecessary hate some of the Vegbul fans from the western side throws at the Gochi ship. I was also asked on my thoughts about this situation and so I figured I’d make a post about it.

P.s. Excuse my english, not my mother tongue.

NOTE: all the points are taken from the manga,original Japanese sub and Shonen Jump magazines, plus some info from Jump heavy site, which got deleted around 2008-09 due to Japan’s strict content/piracy laws. I don’t recognise the older Funimation dub work and TFS (the makers already stated its parody but surprisingly, there are idiots who swore it as canon!) as canon. Other language dub like Brazilian, etc. and Funimation’s DBZ Kai dub work are much closely related to the Japanese sub and manga.

The bullshit this OTP gets from some of those immature Vegbul fans is fucking ridiculous! These asshats try to belittle the other OTP just to show how great theirs is by throwing nonsensical and utter shit.

And I’m seriously annoyed with these haters creeping on my blog and posting their rants on my posts.

Saw this on Chichi and Gochi tag, and I was like WTF?! Do we even watched the same show or is the English/Funimation dub and whatever fansub they watched was that terrible or whoever makes/believes this kind of shit are plain dumb!?

First of all, this is pure bullshit and really, whoever made this are either they’re delusional or cat piss got in their eyes and got blind.

She prevents her husband from training??

Seriously, she had always, from the beginning allowed her husband to train as long as he works too sometimes (Both of them are farmers and its official. Established long before DBS and 2008 special). The only thing she tried preventing was not letting her 4 yr old only child to enter the martial arts world. And after seeing firsthand the dangers and damage her fiancé took from Piccolo jr in the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai and King Piccolo and other villains while saving the world, she really got scared for her husband’s life.

But still, she doesn’t stop him from his earth saving duties whenever his friends and gods ask him to do it.

Though she still keeps worrying… about her husband and children, no matter how insanely strong they are because they’re her precious family and she loves them!

Now watch this exchange again and THIS part.

Just before this, Chichi is telling about how Goku should be getting back at his farming or just be home taking some much needed rest after fighting with a fierce Destruction cat god and their grandchild and all that, and then she walks over to the counter to grab his lunch.

Goku stammers something about training and you see Chichi’s arms come together (look at the still) and she says THIS LINE. Her voice is soft, but extremely little. She speaks this really softly.

She’s worried about him fighting because she doesn’t wanna see him hurt again!

Also you will notice something else if you stop being an immature hater. As Chichi says this, Goku’s arms go from his sides to what you see here. I don’t think he was scared of her since she was so far away from him, so it’s not a flinch. It’s almost like he was going to go comfort her cause he saw how quickly she was caught in a sad thought.

These two are so in synch despite their little differences it’s crazy.

Throughout the series Chichi worries, from the 23rd tournament to the entire series! And even in the Battle of Gods movie again her mannerisms are again repeated – from her cute,sweet demeanour to her worrywart ways over her family (her precious husband included) and her strict motherly instincts to ferociously guarding her Goku-sa! Even Goku’s worries and feelings are shown for his wife and children, including his grandchild. As recent as DBS episode 43 and more.

May I also add that this scene is also in the highlighted important and romance part of the battle of gods promo along with vegeta getting angry at bulma-beerus slap scene.

And in episode 14 of Dragonball Super. But that scene was really not stressed out as a certain ‘goku x veg and bul x veg’ fan was in charge in the storyboard and got carried away with tsundere Vegeta x Goku moment… -______-; Again in the movie, Chichi runs to Goku… in Dbs, Vegeta runs to Goku.

(Toriyama strongly said he wrote the script, fucking writing the entire thing himself when he didn’t like the previous story. The previous story didn’t even have Goku cuz it was written by Vegeta fanboy! Before you guys shit on Toriyama, atleast remember he didn’t cut out Vegeta like Watanabe did! And was put together as team mates and equal in the 2nd movie. Son Goku is the main part of Dragonball series, you can’t just replace him with anybody else. Its like asking Ichigo be removed and making Renji to lead in Bleach or Naruto to be lead by the tsundere Sasuke…)

If you really study their interactions, tone and body language, their love is evident.

She never makes a fighting gi??

Well,surprise look at these.

She does not only makes her husband’s gi but also other stuff too, like sweaters. But if you haters gonna neglect these episodes as “fillers” than Bulma making an armour episode is also a “filler” episode. And for the record, Chichi may not be able to make an armour because she doesn’t have a factory like Bulma has. Also the kind of battle Goku and the rest of the Z warriors gets in… an armour like that is totally useless.

She often yells at her husband both in public and private??

Oh really~ but Bulma doesn’t!?? Let’s see, Bulma not only yells but also openly insults him too. And does it in front of others too.

Some egs from the series, didn’t include gifs from entire android, cell and buu arc cuz the post is getting too long. Also, in Kami to Kami (Battle of Gods) movie and in DBS too, especially Ep 17, remember saiyan wives club? xD

No need to take just one example and turn a blind eye to the rest of the shit your otp has and to over throw the other couples and go around spreading fake shit about them.

Plus, Toriyama stated he doesn’t like weak females (this is the reason he didn’t like kid Chichi as she was first characterised as a very shy and timid girl and when he brought back her into story, he changed her into a beautiful, head strong tomboy and as an education minded mama.) and so he created women that he felt were not only “beautiful and sexy”, but also “strong”. Including all the main females - Bulma, Chichi, Videl (LOL, somebody in Toei’s DBS storyboards are messing her characterisation big time) and 18.

Also, his preference for strong and beautiful women are projected in our favourite saiyans wife preference as recently as in DBS!

You can go ship your crack ship without going around ranting bullshit on the canon couple. I ship some crack ships too like but I don’t go around spewing hate and fake interviews!

Goku just doesn’t understand love the same way Vegeta does. Vegeta had parents, and got to be raised a lot different then Goku. Goku was never taught how it works so he’s clueless too it but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t try. And the man said “might not” which is not saying anything canon.

Even if he doesn’t have a sense of family that does not mean he doesn’t love his wife or his children. Goku was raised without a lot of things that most children get, so even if that “Doesn’t have a sense of family” statement was said, it would only mean he didn’t get to have a sense of family because he can’t remember having a mom or dad, he didn’t get that love and attention. That’s what they mean by him not having a sense of family. JFC. People sure like to make up their own shit and take things out of context. Saying he doesn’t love the family he could easily LEAVE and ditch if he didn’t love them or cared for them.

Honestly, a lot of online people are terrible. “Doesn’t have a sense of family” if you actually think for five seconds it’s obvious that means he doesn’t have the best idea of how to be a family since he never learned how, he was basically fighting all his childhood. So it’s saying Goku has a hard time knowing what expressing his love means. He knows how to do it and does love his family, and is learning from them what a family is and how it IS different from fighting and food and how it’s supposed to be treated. Goku thinks just saying Hey I like you! Is enough because that’s all he ever learned, but little by little he’s learning the true meaning of family and what it means to have a wife and kids. He learned NOTHING about that sort of stuff in his childhood.

But slowly and surely, he learned and he most definitely loved them.

Takes really painful death just to save his only child twice but gets called shitty names! its kind of sad to see so many here talking crap about him just like that… :(

I mean he isn’t the perfect father of the year, by the way he was brought up… he never had parents in his life (unlike vegeta, bulma), his adoptive grandparent died really early in his life… and he was practically raising himself alone in a forest!

And lets face it, his friends (bulma, krillin, yamcha…)at first part of the manga were all just using him to either use his strength to get something or save their asses.

And if he asked something even about normal things because he’s a curious child… he would be yelled at or called names instead of teaching him nicely!!! (they were all aware of his childhood… kinda sad, upbringing even then they were a**holes to him.)

Master Roshi’s way of education was horrendous (reading from porn stuff only!). The only education that helped him in anyway was from Kami and Mr popo.

Yet, even though he never had a family in his life early onwards but he still makes up and tries to be a good father as best as he can. He coddled his first child so much that Piccolo and even Gohan himself, had complained against it!!!

And his children actually love and looked up at him. But there are (weird) people here and in fanfiction.net, that are hellbent on proving how much Gohan and Goten hates him canonically to the point of coldblooded murdering him??!!

Now, Goku and Chichi are two people who are both strong (mentally and physically) understanding and kind and pure hearted, plus they’re both young and attractive. (Yes, little Goku was naive and didn’t know anything about sex BUT PLEASE LOOK at the series, especially in th 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai arc and the manga and you’ll notice all the changes about Teen Goku. Yes, he’s matured and is fully aware about many things including sex.) They had an arranged marriage and over time, they’re in love and both developed a really strong bond and raised a beautiful family, even with all the unnecessary stress and shit from evil assholes interrupting their peaceful lives from time to time. But he ALWAYS comes back to them and is repeatedly showed that he has special place for his family in his heart. And too many examples are also there throughout the entire series, including DBS too, where his wife and children LOVES him and has great pride in him. LOL. Best load of BS I’ve ever heard from these haters. If you’ve seen the scenes with him/chichi or read the manga then you know full well he loves her AND his kids.

Some people are so stupid. SMH.

Always twist the meaning of interview words and spread it like wildfire! And even going as far as shitting on people who are fans of Gochi :/

And the so-called “force marriage”?? Like can you get any dumber when you accuse Chichi as some evil bitch who manipulated Goku into her evil plan and raped him?!!

LOL, read the manga from the START and FYI, the Dragonball series starts from when little Goku is introduced not from in the middle of when Radiz shows up. (Saw some so-called dbz fans stating Dbz is the original and DB is NOT canon like Dbgt, LOL just because Funimation aired Dbz first in America! *cough*idiots*cough*) Also, Toriyama drew Goku and Chichi riding the kintoun/nimbus as adults, so there goes your evil theory down the drain.

Many in the western world find arranged marriages to be funny and sometimes repulsive and regard Asians as traditional stuck ups. But I believe there are two sides of a coin. Both arranged marriages and love marriages have their pros and cons. Its not like love marriages work 100% and LOL too many of them are plagued with infidelity and shit! Seen statistics where the divorce rate is nearly 50% in western countries like America.

Whether it is love or arranged, trust, understanding and commitment is what drives towards a successful marriage.

I believe that the term ‘love marriage’ is a misnomer – is it that arranged marriages are devoid of love? Of course not! In fact, all marriages are an ‘arrangement’ between two people, with a promise to ‘love’, the bond grows stronger as they already understand each other.

Yes, at first he had no idea what is parenting and family life’s gonna be like. Yet he continued and learned throughout the time and from the way his family loves and adores him, he established that he is indeed a good husband and father… overcoming all the obstacles.

This got way longer than I thought but there are still some points left… but I’ll stop here today.

Learn to appreciate your OTP and respect other OTPS because whatever couples are made by Toriyama, not just in Dragonball but also his other series, are all endearing and adorable even with the tiny hints of romance. As he himself said he’s shy of romance but that does not mean he hates it.

MARK HENRY & CHYNA: Difference in Degree or in Kind? By Laura

Poetry is perhaps the most romantic route to a woman’s heart–especially if it’s reciter is also the author. However, throw in a sexual harassment lawsuit adn I don’t care how sweet the words may be, a woman will be turned off. Yes, my friends, the hackneyed expression stands firm–actions speak louder than words. Keep that in mind when reading the following commentary…

Marky Henry and Chyna–are they like two plates of the same barbell? It depends on who you ask, I suppose. Despite the personal and legal problems that have transpired between the two of late, it can be argued that the pair are very similar to each other. With very few exceptions, their lives have run on parallel courses. Both bright and ambitious, as youngsters they began bodybuilding–Chyna started in her teens and Mark Henry began as a child when he was given a weight set by his mother. Through bodybuilding, bot found their niches–and in sculpting their bodies, they sculpted their futures as athletes in the World Wrestling Federation.

In addition to sharing a passion for a careers in sports-entertainment, Mark Henry and Chyna had it rough growing up. As was revealed in an in-depth interview in the October 1998 World Wrestling Federation Magazine, Chynaa came from a dysfunctional family–one torn apart by the ravages of addiction and abandonment. Mark Henry faced poverty and racial prejudice in his early years–prejudice that he knew could be assuaged by superstardom.

Perhaps the most obvious affinity between the two is that they are the pinnacles of strength. It can be argued that he, the World’s Strongest Man, and she, the Ninth Wonder of the World, are the standard by which human physical strength should be measured. One thing is certain–both Mark Henry and Chyna are unique… they are anomalies of their kind. Both had to struggle in a competitive field where their minority status–Mark Henry being African-American and Chyna as a woman–do not make it any easier. 

If we go beneath the surface, however, another picture develops, while the above constructions attempt to convey the truth, they can also be highly misleading.

In my opinion, the greatest difference between Mark Henry and Chyna lies in the matter of strength. I am not speaking here of who can bench press the most weight. Rather, I am speaking of self-confidence–not an inflated ego or the need to mask a case of low self-esteem–but of an inner strength.

When it comes to their futures in the World Wrestling Federation, both Chyna and Mark Henry have different visions. Chyna told me: “I look more selflessly to where the guys [DX] are going–I want what’s best for them.” 

Meanwhile, posed with the same question, Mark Henry replied that it was his intention to prove the Federation and its superstars that he belongs and that he will surpass all of them. And no one is going to stop him–notThe Rock, Austin nor Vince McMahon. 

When I asked Mark about his experience in the Nation and what his relationship was like with The Rock, he responded: “I felt like we [the Nation] were all there for his [The Rock’s] using. I admired and looked up to him, but I don’t see myself in his shadow…”

Like he had seen himself in his brother’s shadow? Perhaps there is a parallel here… In other words, when it comes to his vision of his future Mark Henry has only himself in mind–as well as a need for validity. In her plans for the future, Chyna has not only herself, but also the welfare of DX in mind. (is this the result of her need to create the happy family she never had…?)

Growing up both had premonitions of a future in the spotlight. However, for Chynait was innate knowledge–she knew that she had a talent to share with the world. For Mark Henry, on the other hand, he craved the spotlight and the attention it engenders. What Chyna knew was her natural talent was what Mark Henry felt he had to prove to the rest of the world.

I asked both Mark and Chyna what it means to them to be the World’s Strongest Man and the Ninth Wonder of the World, respectively, Mark responded that for him it meant, “No one can beat me,” and for Chyna, “it means that there's no other Chyna.” That I believe best conveys the difference between the two. For Mark Henry it is about competition–a constant struggle to prove he is worthy of being number one, as is indicated by his inept but sincere attempts to win the heart of a woman who simply shrugs him off. For Chyna it is about contentedness–being the unique woman that she is and sharing her talents with the world.

While similarities certainly exist between these two unparalleled individuals, upon closer examination differences are clear. It’s said that opposites attract–so, in the case of Mark Henry and Chyna does the old maxim stand up?

1999 The Year of Chyna

Chyna has achieved what no woman was ever expected to in the World Wrestling Federation and it’s not necessarily just because of her athletic skills. Not underestimating a physique reminiscent of a leather-clad sculpture–perhaps it is because the Ninth Wonder of the World refused to listen when others said, “No.”

Chyna knew she could compete against the men, but the purists needed to be enlightened. Beginning with the Royal Rumble, 1999 has been a series of ground-breaking triumphs countered only by miniscule setbacks.

While the role of women in society continues to evolve, albeit rather slowly, the former bodyguard has seized the means of production and created her own revolution. How did this once stoic, solitary revolutionary become the tombstone by which all women in the next century will be measured and compared? It all began with a painful childhood. 

In an interview in the October 1998 issue of the World Wrestling Federation Magazine Chyna described her early family life as “dysfunctional.” After leaving home at the age of 15 the future athlete excelled in high school, regularly making the Dean’s list, and later graduated from the University of Tampa (Florida) with a double major in Spanish and Literature in just two and a half years. Prospective employers like the United Nations and the U.S. Secret Service would have to wait, however.

During her college years, Chyna had discovered a talent for weight training. Combined with a lifelong desire to perform the groundwork was set, almost as though destiny had a hand in molding the sculpture that is the Ninth Wonder of the World. 

Questioned many times about the prospect of competing against other women in the ring, Chyna has consistently stated that it would not be challenging enough. Trained by Killer Kowalski in a class of all-male wrestlers, even the World Wrestling Federation Hall of Famer knew that the skills of his prized pupil were far from common. Even before entering the Federation in 1997, Chyna was aware that to make an impact she would have to compete against the men. 

First as bodyguard for Triple H and then the unifying glue of DX, Chyna preyed upon the weaknesses of men. Her notorious low blow proved that any man of any size could be felled like a tranquilized elephant with one upward thrust of her powerful arm. If retribution was due for the sins she had committed, Chyna knew that generally men would not want to strike out at her because of the childhood rule: Don’t hit girls. To this day, many of her victims blindly look at gender and wind up temporarily paralyzed because they are not “allowed” to hit a woman. 

At the 1999 Royal Rumble, Chyna made history as the first woman ever to compete for the privilege. Having thwarted the other D-Generates, Vince McMahon stood triumphantly while Chyna made her way to the ring as the final DX member in the Rumble qualifier. No one expected her and that element of surprise has been a persistent weapon against Chyna’s opponents. 

In time, however, that element of surprise began to dissipate. Chyna needed to show that she was more than just a Mexican uppercut. She did that in her attempt to win King of the Ring. With Triple H at ringside providing guidance, Chyna proved to the world–and more important, to herself–that she could do it. 

As the old saying goes, “Good talent can make anyone look good in the ring.” The Ninth Wonder was in there with the best of the best, and despite not coming away with the victory in the perennial June tournament, Chyna put herself on the roster as a competitor. She was credible, believable. It appeared to be more like rediscovering the talent she had been born with than something she had learned. Chyna had evolved once again and the sculpture was almost complete. 

“SummerSlam was supposed to be my time!” Triple H bellowed at Chyna after the Ninth Wonder of the World became the number one contender. Chyna would not wilt under the intense heat of the spotlight. No one doubled her spot now because she had earned all our respect. 

In that same ‘98 interview, the Ninth Wonder said, “There is a lot of mystery to Chyna and she hasn’t been unleashed yet. We can do so much with my character…”

The stories that can be told about the Ninth Wonder of the World are as limitless as the imagination. Her “character,” as in integrity, is unparalleled. Chyna and Triple H are the quintessential professionals. That being said, will Chyna remain a part of Triple H’s career? There have been rumors that their partnership may be nearing an end. 

When Triple H became the Federation Champion the night following SummerSlam, it wasn’t without assistance. Chyna has been a steadfast, reliable accomplice for Triple H for nearly three years. Critics of Triple H argue that the network of assistants has hindered his credibility. Would Chyna remove herself from that role in Triple H’s life in response to the critics? 

Whatever future career decisions Chyna makes will not be in response to outside detractors. Throughout her life, Chyna has fought when most would have packed up and moved on. With minimal parental guidance as a young woman, Chyna completed high school and graduated from college with honors.

After stumbling onto weight training and a desire to compete in the fitness field, Chyna heard the naysayers and went on to make history on a televised event. Although the wrestling business wanted no part of her, the Ninth Wonder refused to be ignored and simply kicked the door in. Now, Chyna is approaching legendary status in the renaissance of sports-entertainment and the World Wrestling Federation–a history maker, a trendsetter, a one of a kind. 

This has been the year of Chyna. Her improvement and development will continue into the next century as well. One thing is certain–Chyna will constantly stay one step ahead and keep everybody guessing what is next for the Ninth Wonder of the World.
