I did some of my own research, and Great Britain hadn't won a Gold medal in diving before Rio 2016, and that was won by Jack Laugher and Chris Mears in the 3m Springboard.

Since 1904, when Britain first competed in diving, we have won 8 medals (1 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze), and had a total of 24 divers compete. 4 of the 8 medals have been won since London 2012.

As somebody of the LGBT community (even though people might not consider Asexual people as being part of that community), I find it offensive that you blame being Gay on his recent bad day. It was unfortunate when he had the bad day, but being Gay had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

And he was not "seduced by an older man". He found Lance when he was thinking about giving up diving. They needed each other, because Tom had just lost his dad, and Lance had just lost his brother and his mum was ill.

Iron in the Butterfly Nebula : Can stars, like caterpillars, transform themselves into butterflies? No, but in the case of the Butterfly Nebula – it sure looks like it. Though its wingspan covers over 3 light-years and its estimated surface temperature exceeds 200,000 degrees, C, the dying central star of NGC 6302, the featured planetary nebula, has become exceptionally hot, shining brightly in visible and ultraviolet light but hidden from direct view by a dense torus of dust. This sharp close-up was recorded by the Hubble Space Telescope and is reprocessed here to show off the remarkable details of the complex planetary nebula, highlighting in particular light emitted by iron, shown in red. Virgil hesitated then gently slid his arm further around John’s shoulders, trying to coax his brother close. John didn’t really do affection very often, but tonight seemed like it might be one of those times when there was an exception to be made.

John, soft and pliable, lets himself be pulled into those arms far to easily. He’s too thin, too light and too willing. A jerky, shaky hand raises and fingers slowly begin to curl numbly into the  soft, moss-green fabric of Virgil’s sleep t-shirt. The fist begins to wind itself tighter and tighter and a tremor starts like a small earthquake between John’s shoulder blades; as if his world is shaking apart and taking him with it. He’s a man in need of rescue. The arms tighten and then, suddenly, the young astronaut is clinging fiercely to his brother, face buried at Virgil’s throat, limbs trembly and fingers painfully tight, over Virgil’s back as his sibling just holds him there like their Mother would have done.

And that’s what pulls at the thread of John’s consciousness and makes the dream begin to unravel; drawing strength and tension from his limbs and leaving him lax and quiet against his brother with a;

“I’m sorry…”

And just like that, a tension that has lingered since Jeff Tracy disappeared has gone. John had never cried and now he has… it’s like a floodgate has opened.
