The Internet Archive is under attack by corporations seeking to wrest more and more of our fair use rights, our public spaces and our communities from the public good. The Archive was recently forced into a settlement for scanning and digitizing legally purchased books. They are now facing a $325 million lawsuit for accepting donations of old 78 RPM historical music records that were digitized by volunteers. The goal is not only to stop the distribution of these works, but to create new legal precedents that make it illegal to preserve or archive for any reason. This will have a significant impact on our culture, our communities, and our future
Here is how you can help them
1. Use The Internet Archive Site
2. Save websites via "Save Page Now" browser tool
3. Become a patron to get a free "library card"
4. Curate & Upload to the Archive
5. Tell People That the Internet Archive Exists
6. Browse The Many, Many Collections
7. Take care of yourself and the people you care about
(Link will take you to a blog article that goes into these suggestions in detail)
You can’t ship that the characters have too large a gpa gap which means it’s a power imbalance
With so many elections coming up worldwide it's probably a good time to remind everyone that tumblr once got infested with agents trying to convince everyone not to vote, or not to vote left because the candidates weren't morally pure enough.
Also a reminder that they were better at tumblr than most of us, comrade interloper was great at memeing. Like, the talent!
Anyway don't fall for it. There is no morally pure option.
on a serious note regarding the wga strike and (as of 1:50 AM PST 7/13) upcoming sag-aftra strike, dsa-la has a fundraiser called The Snacklist which provides snacks and water on the picket lines here in LA. right now the funds they have will not last through the end of the summer, especially given the current and upcoming heatwaves necessitating more supplies. if you have a couple of dollars to spare it's a great way to directly support the writers (and potentially the actors) during this difficult time!
Here’s a friendly reminder!

Apparently there was no point to my longer, more ambiguous post about this because it's already such a big kerfuffle, it's set off a boycott of Youmacon?! So I guess if you haven't already, you're probably going to hear all about this anyway if you follow cartoons and anime: animator Kyle Carrozza is being accused of getting another artist fired from the animation industry over their "adult content," which the artist cites as a reason for suicidal thoughts two years later. Carrozza is being called a literal murderer for "outing" someone who, allegedly, only posted that content as a necessary coping mechanism for their personal trauma, and allegedly only to a private blog. But...that's all just plain untrue. This artist worked at Cartoon Network while posting weird, explicit drawings and tweets about Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon characters on a twitter account that they also openly connected to their main, where they publicly boasted about their industry work, and therefore only "outed" themselves. You cannot, CANNOT be tweeting like they were tweeting and blame anyone else when a children's animation studio cuts ties with you! I shared a couple off-putting tweets of theirs before but what they actually posted got quite a bit more graphic. None of their art is under the cut, but these tweets are extremely bad and it is completely unsurprising that they would hurt someone's employment with a family entertainment brand. Even if it wasn't stuff about "shota" and "incest," even fully tasteful art of adults having sex, everybody who works in kid's animation knows you can't attach that and your career to the same internet identity. That is simply an accepted part of the deal.
I reiterate, it does not matter if this is somehow vital to their trauma therapy or whatever, when you're trying to have a job with brands like CN, Nick or Disney you just. CAN'T. BLOG LIKE THIS. You also can't demand that your friends and coworkers be comfortable with it, either; if it pushes people away you really have to just accept it, not send your fans on a crusade to accuse them of literal murder for pete's sake In case anyone tries to call the screenshots fake:

Bro I'm trying to survive capitalism with maladaptive daydreaming. Leave me alone.
Are narcissists capable of love? I'm tired of seein people saying they can't love .. thay they only care about what you can offer them. ( money, sex inc ) but I honestly think they can be very caring and sweet to the ones they want to. What's your honest opinion ?
yeah absolutely. most narcs even those on the aspectrum are capable of love. wherever you heard that info from is just more stigma and villifying misinfo.
you should check out the book kris made, im sure theres some chapters that might help clear this up.
It has been hard for me to talk about how what is going on with Israel and Palestine is affecting me personally, but I grew up in Gaza and most of my family still lives there. My father did not survive the bombings last week and I have not been able to contact my younger sister in days. I am try to being understanding that most people do not have personal connections to what is happening and therefore are justifying their silence, but is heartbreaking to see this misinformation being spread. What’s happening there is a genocide, not a war. It is not antisemitic to support Palestine, it’s not even antiemetic to criticise Israel. There is no grey area or neutrality regarding this, and it is so easy to find resources that will educate you on the subject. It is my people and my home being destroyed so I will never be silent about this, but I please urge everyone to get informed and start speaking up and finding ways they can help.
decolonizepalestine has tons of information on Palestine’s history/propaganda that has been spread throughout the years
