annaleigh ashford was on her hands and knees desperately begging for josh groban’s sweeney to listen to her, you can hear the sound of her slamming her hands on the stage as she says “could that thing have cared for you like me?” it was such an intense thing to watch

josh groban is practically spitting as he says “eminently practical and yet appropriate as always,” again the energy and his emotions are incredibly intense

i’m not super familiar with other sweeney todd productions, but in this one it seems that mrs lovett knows what’s coming. ashford keeps glancing toward the oven as groban spins her around, but it seems she wants to keep deluding herself into believing him, she wants to see the version of sweeney she creates in “by the sea.” she sounds frantic in her signing, like she’s trying to convince herself what she’s saying is true as well. or, she knows what’s coming and just doesn’t care, she’s resigned to death. either way, it’s an amazing performance by ashford

Request- Headcanons for being Aladdin son and being best friends with jay. Can the met with jay trying to steal from the reader by bumping into him but the reader stole all the things he stole and gave them back to the owner

•Everyone knows your father Aladdin. You are like him, very crafty for stealing and escaping from guards. But you mostly steal and give it to the poor.

•Being Aladdin’s son does have some perks.

•You are in town and you are just walking around and looking. Jay bumped into you

”Watch it,” you said.

Jay smirked ”Sorry” and he walked away.

Jay walks away from the crowd. He thought that he took your stuff, but he now noticed you stole from him.

•Jay went back but he sees you giving back the items to the owners.

•Jay followed you because he has some questions for you.

•”How did you do it so fast?” Jay asked.

”I’m just fast. Plus I know the tricks bumping into someone” You said.

”Wait, aren't you Aladdin’s son?” Jay asked.

”I have a name and it's Y/N,” You said.

”My name is Jay. My dad is Jafar” Jay said.

”My dad has told me about him,” You said.

”I’m not like my dad,” Jay said.

”I never said that and I know. Do you want to hang out, we can mess with the guards” You said.

Jay smiled and he nods.

”Good idea,” Jay said.

•You and Jay would steal food and give it to a poor family.

•Always outsmarting the guards.

•Jay kept the friendship a secret from his dad. He knows his dad won't approve of it.

•Jafar did find out about you being Aladdin’s son and being Jay’s friend. He wanted Jay to betray you so he can get revenge on Aladdin. But Jay stood up to his dad.

•Jay met Genie through you. And he can see that Jay is a good kid and nothing like Jafar.

•You and Jay having a contest of who can steal the best items.

•Always learning new techniques from each other.

•You and Jay got caught by the guards, your parents are angry at you. But not angry that you are friends with Jay.

•Your dad always giving you the speech of your actions.
