Some miscellaneous AZ headcanons because I’m feeling wistful tonight

-he plays many instruments in his free time, the ancient versions have been lost to time but he’s whittled a flute for himself (all the conventional ones are too small) and dabbles in the lute and dulcimer

- he smells like wildflowers, not through any effort, it’s just a passive he has lmao

- he treats hotel Z like a friend, and is very fastidious and dedicated to its care (even though it looks like a hodgepodge of mismatched items, that’s intentional on his part because he likes that aesthetic). He often talks about the hotel like it’s listening

- his online footprint is close to nonexistent, with the only high-quality photos of him being from the parade at the end of XY. Urbain/Taunie run a social media account for Hotel Z but he is conveniently never in the photos posted there

- he’s still not used to being complimented, and pretends he’s not in the room when someone heaps praise on him (but he turns beet red, so it’s hard to miss him)

- he has dozens of journals stretching back centuries in his personal library, and often cross-references them when he makes claims about the past or remembers something (he’s still sharp as a tack, but it helps to be backed up by your ancient self)

- he speaks rather quietly most of the time, which can be a problem when you’re 4-5 feet above your conversation partner. That’s why he prefers to sit and chat over standing (not to mention his knee)

-very mild caffeine addiction. He can kick it at any time, he insists. He just likes how coffee tastes, trust him

- he’s very observant, but nowadays spends most of his observations on dry jokes (or gifts! He’s a surprise gifter)

-because of the nature of his immortality, he sometimes just. Forgets that it’s normal to eat food for a few days. His employees will get nervous and then something will click, and he’ll slink off to a cafe and bashfully buy a sandwich or something

- he’s not sure how to answer people when they ask about his hair care routine. The only real improvement has been washing in municipal water over a random lake somewhere

-you’d think his hugs would be kind of bony and pokey, but they’re actually so nice :)

Yk maybe I'm just not looking in the right places but I don't see much Looey fanart/fiction include his habit of laughing when he's nervous/uncomfortable.

I think it's an underappreciated part of his character, he's a certified giggler.

I think laughing is comforting to him. It's a familiar sound he can use to ground himself.
