I’ll tell you a secret. I got interested in her because of her hair. First. there was her faux!hawk and I though- wow, finally a heroine without flowing, waving long hair, that must be getting all the time in her way when she fights, damn, finally a heroine with a sense of style. And then I realised that she’s drawn every time with different hair. Like a real woman. And I was in love, because it’s maybe very silly thing, but it made me connect with her on this level- I love changing my hair all the time and no heroine does that. I get it. They need to be recognizable, yadda yadda, chara design. The thing is, how can you be recognizable in a sea of same long-haired, combed in half, blond mops? 

And here comes Carol with ever-changing haircut. The only thing that would make me love her more is that she bitches about dark roots. Because I don’t believe that half of the girls don’t dye their hair. Seriously. (also, there’s this part where she’s not wearing a bikini, and is just generally awesome character on her own. but still, I’m shallow like this, so hair!)

There also part about buying comics in Poland and possible prints, so I’m putting it under a cut. So there’s no rant if you don’t care, but please, don’t remove the cut mark, ok?

‘novak manors, a sprawling mansion home to no one but the lone hannah novak. an introverted, mysterious, and thoroughly dull story to tell. gotham gazette never touched on the story of the novaks until kim vale, one of the new head journalists, gets an anonymous tip that the ever elusive batman might have a link back to the night mr and mrs novak died. 

but as soon as kim starts digging, begins begging for an interview with hannah through the high metal gates of the estate, something shifts. the daily visits stop being only about getting new information. the elusive miss novak of the manors is quiet, yes, and gruff but she’s sweet and has moments of humanity that kim wants to see more of.’ - requested by mrs-pants47

a quick carol sketch with some super quick coloring. not entirely happy with the way i draw eyes right now, i think that’s something i’m going to play around with a bit tomorrow. but i’m super in love with that inking brush preset. guh.
