Ai are terrible writers. They cannot long term plan, they cannot fact check, they cannot keep up with changes to modern culture, they cannot keep consistent details, and they cannot do nuance. Why? Because they do not know what they're writing.

They recite mish-mashes of connecting words and structures from the giant libraries of text they've been trained on, but it's only that: A recital. Speaking without understanding.

Think about how bad autocorrect can be. Now imagine it predicting pages instead of singular words.

The real risk here is the flood of trash works they'll add to the world clogging up the market, and humanities ever-growing carbon footprint.
