Today I saw certain (I hope younger) fandom members doing a thing on twitter where they called out fandom-famous fics and saying how bad they are.
And, no. We don't do that. We aren't rude to each other like that. If we don't like a fic we move on and find one we do like. We do not go slagging it off on twitter to make ourselves look cool.
Authors, artists, video editors, gif makers: all of these people give huge amounts of their time to provide you with content for free. They don't owe anyone anything, and being cruel about what anyone makes is below us as a fandom.
i’ll never get over this

those who dream only by night: the gothic short stories rec list
have you ever felt like you want to read more fiction in the gothic tradition, but you haven’t the money or the time, or you’re the sort of person who only reads a novel if you’re sure you like the writer? i can help with that! here is a list of short stories, novellas, and one poem, all of which are important in the gothic tradition, the gothic revival, or contemporary gothic fiction, and they are all on the internet! for free! (i enjoy making rec lists, but i particularly enjoy making rec lists where i know that everyone who reads the list can get all of it for free.) so, take a night, make some hot chocolate, and frighten the life out of yourself. you’ll thank me!

I love how here on tumblr dot website we regularly cast the greatest curse we can muster on each other by pointing our long creepy fingers and intoning "10,000 notes" in a voice that carries the winds of the mountain with it.

- They rarely go to the cinema, preferring the quiet and secluded company of their apartments, so they can talk during the film. Plus,Yuri prefers to have blankets and snacks and his cat.
- Otabek may or may not turn down the heating so Yuri leans closer.
- Yuri usually picks the films; turns out he’s really in to bad action movies. But sometimes, Otabek picks. And when he does, it’s always a RomCom.
- What? He gets a kick out of seeing Yuri blush at the sappy, romantic parts.
- And hearing him laugh is always a bonus.
- Yuri is adamant that he loves horror films and has no issue watching them and that they absolutely do not scare him. Otabek knows that they do, but agrees t watch them in the hope that Yuri will cuddle in to him.
- He does. Everytime.
