The Velcinta post i reblogged earlier made me think of the unlikely-to-happen-in-the-show scenario where

What if there is no big sacrifice or grand breakup or dying in the other person’s / each other’s arms type of situation

What if Aldahni does drive them apart but as time passes, more mundanely than they think

What if they keep going on separate missions and spending less time with each other and even if they are on base at the same time all they do is argue

And they try to make things right but have to reckon with the fact that the spark isn’t there anymore

No one dies, no one is seriously injured but vel and cinta still lose each other

I know it’s not hard to point out reactionaries hypocrisy when it comes to like safe spaces or hug boxes or whatever but genuinely how much of an echo chamber do you have to exist in for you to think this is a reasonable thing to say

People on here are always like "fuck capitalism, why can't things be weird anymore" and then write up a whole dissertation about how the biggest IPs need to change to be weirder.

Like, you are so close. You are so close to getting the point. "Big" IPs *can only exist because they are normal*. They will *never* be weird. They will *never* do what you want. Go find some smaller IPs. Bring back discovery. Bring back never having heard of a book before you buy it. Bring back watching obscure anime online that none of your friends know about. Bring back trying new things, even if they're bad or cheaply made. That is how you get *weird*.

no no. you don't get it. the reason I injure my blorbos until they can't walk is because that's the only way they'll ever let someone else carry them. the reason I curse them to be sick and feverish is so that they'll finally open up about their emotions while delirious. the reason I force them to overexert themselves to the point of exhaustion is so that when they pass out they can finally rest.

I'm doing this for their own good.
