One Piece Ship Week in July!

One Piece Ship Week In July!

The One Piece Ship Week is back!

I know it’s really late to announce it, but honestly being an adult is… exhausting. And boring. And exhausting again.

Anyway the week will take place from July 1st to July 7th and here are the prompts:

Day 1: Dreams

Day 2: Seasickness

Day 3: First/Last Fight

Day 4: Promise

Day 5: Lost

Day 6: Lazy Day

Day 7: Free Day <3

The rules are still pretty basic:

- Any type of art (fanfiction, fanart, edit, headcanons, etc) is welcomed. You may translate or repost something that hasn’t been made by you only if you have the explicit permission of the creator and credit them.

- Use the tag #opshipweek or #opshipweek2024 in the first five tags of your post so I can reblog your entry (late entries are accepted but early entries are not).

- Romantic and platonic relationships are both accepted

- NSFW content must be tagged as such and trigger warnings must be written in the tags of your post

- Finally, as it is an even where all ships are welcomed, please don’t hate on other ships or characters

- AO3 collection: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/OnePieceShipWeek

Please reblog so we can have another fun week!

Read the whole thing! It's very helpful

warning for discord users

If you're on the app, immediately go to your dms and then "add friends". After the latest update they allow your contacts to find you and have that option turned on by default, so make sure it's unchecked!

This is very obviously not great for a multitude of reasons, but especially for people in vulnerable positions who do not want people in their contacts to see who they are on discord and/or know they have discord in the first place. I've also tried finding out if this is a thing on desktop but haven't been able to find any mention of it, so either it's not a "feature" (yet) or they've hidden it. Either way, stay safe, and turn off finding friends via contacts!

Talked about this on my main a bit, but if you haven't heard the wonderful hermit Jevin has been struggling with viewership and may have to get a second job to cover his bills. Jevin is such an incredible guy and he sticks to bits so hard. He puts an amazing amount of time and effort into his content and it's heartbreaking to see him possibly have to cut down his time on hermitcraft to be able to support himself.

So, if you're looking to start up Hermitcraft OR if you want to start a new Hermit OR if you want to help out a fella in need, watch Jevin! Watch his s10! Join me!

I'm coining the tag #Jevin Marathon 2025 for anybody that wants to join me. I'll be picking up his POV and watching back all of his s10 over the next few weeks. I'm making it a marathon for myself. If you follow along, let me know! Watch his content!

Post fanart, fics, hype posts, ANYTHING and slap on this tag so I know theres people out there that want to help! Get people interested in his content!

It can be something as simple as putting his videos on in the back while you work. Get his viewership up so YouTube promotes his content to more people.

Send me stuff! Tag me in stuff! Send Jevin requests!

Talked About This On My Main A Bit, But If You Haven't Heard The Wonderful Hermit Jevin Has Been Struggling

Here's Jevin in a jar. I'll let him out when irl Jevin can pay his bills with the job he already has.

A Guide for Coming into Disability

Note: While this is meant to serve as a guide for people who are becoming physically disabled and people newly recognizing their existing experiences of disability (including chronic illness), I feel that this guide is helpful for anyone, disabled or abled. No guide is one size fits all, but I hope this can help supplement other resources that exist.

Recognizing Disability

The first aspect of coming into disability is conceptualizing what disability means for you. Some initial questions to consider are:

What is disability?

What does it mean to be disabled?

How do you identify disability in yourself or others?

Only you can define what these mean for yourself, but many definitions and models of disability exist.

Loss & Grief

As you begin to transition into a disabled body, the first sign of that change is often the experience of loss. Loss of ability, access to the world, hobbies, community, loved ones, and your sense of self are just some of the types of loss you might be experiencing. Additionally, when being a part of any marginalized community, you are now not only beginning to experience the trauma of discrimination that you’re personally facing but you are also exposed to a communal trauma of systemic marginalization.

Due to the ableist society we live in, every single person is internalizing ableism. Everything we see on the news, in movies, in classrooms, etc. is absorbed subconsciously to create a personalized narrative of the disabled experience. Weather or not that ableism is externalized doesn’t matter, because if you’re not actively dismantling internalized ableism and practing anti-ableism, then that ableism will hit you much harder when you transition into disability. The work to navigate this is constant, evolving and will change with time.

All of this is very heavy. Always unpacking, always processing, always grieving. But it does get easier to navigate, especially with the proper supports. To cope with this, I highly recommend seeking out appropriate support groups (many are online, Facebook, Discord, The Mighty are some great places to look) and considering grief counseling. Through this, remember to be gentle with yourself, cut off people if you need to, set boundaries, and do what you need to to support yourself and keep yourself safe.

Spoon Theory in Practice

A large portion of my disabled experience is simply just learning. Learning about my body, treatments, my limitations, and what I can still do. This dynamic learning often requires more language to explain complex concepts. This brings us to the spoon theory. If you don’t yet know about spoon theory, here’s the original essay by Christine Miserandino.

Spoon theory works to help explain the energy limitations of chronic illness and has been widely adopted by the greater disabled community. Essentially, it is a metaphor that uses spoons as a metric to showcase energy levels in a tangible form. Over time your spoons will change, different activities might require more or less spoons, and recharging your spoons may also evolve. This is why it’s important to use the concept of spoon theory to help you set boundaries with yourself and others.

For yourself, being able to identify your spoon levels and use them appropriately to ration energy can help you avoid falling into pitfalls like the “Boom-Bust Cycle” and better pace yourself. I put this into practice by creating lists rating activities by spoon levels. I have a master list of meals I can eat, categorized by how many spoons it usually takes to make the meal. This way, I can plan out in advance on low spoon days, like when I have PT, and know I won’t have the energy to cook a meal that takes three spoons to make, I can meal plan for the week and buy what I need for a one spoon meal that day. This can also be applied to things like chores and hobbies. I sort my to-do list by priority, and then by how many spoons it will take to do the activity. Knowing your spoon levels can assist in setting boundaries with others as well. I always have a standing appointment on Tuesdays, so I never make plans that day. I always ask for help with certain chores because even if I physically can get them done, I won’t have spoons for the rest of the day or even the week.

Accepting Disability

In order to cope with the loss of certain activities, finding accessible alternatives can go a long way. You might be able to find an adaptive way to still participate in a hobby, like adaptive basketball. There are also so many options for hobbies in the world, and you might be surprised by what works for you now! This is a good time to start to focus on what you can do, with adaptations, vs what you used to be able to/now can’t do.

Mobility aids are a beautiful tool. My advice is if you think that an aid might help you, you should at least try it! If it ends up not helping, or you don’t need it, you can always donate it. I also like to say (and my physical therapist likes to remind me) Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

And, of course, ask for help before your body demands it.

Disabled Liberation & Disabled Joy

If you have the spoons and time, you should prioritize learning about our history as a community (Crip Camp on Netflix is a great place to start) Additionally, you can learn about disability theory, models of disability, ugly laws, cripple punk movement, and our rights.

Disabled Joy is a concept that considers our joy to be a revolutionary act in and of itself. I use ‘joy’ here, rather than happiness, because while similar, happiness is based in the root word ‘hap’ meaning chance (as in mishap and happenstance), meaning that the experience itself is based in luck and external factors, and focus instead on the sensation associated with it– regardless of your situation, which is joy. Disabled joy looks like my partner sprinting while pushing me down the sidewalk with the wind in my face. It looks like a perfect day in Sims 4. It comes with safe foods and the healing power of accessible plauygrounds. You find it where it comes, and I hope you can find it in yourself.

Finding Community

The best part of the disabled experience, for me, is our thriving community. When it comes to community building, I always suggest online options first because they’re available 24/7 for most people, and you can reach community from your home. I’ve already mentioned online support groups, but also, online content creators are a great way to find community. If your social media following list is primarily able-bodied creators, especially ones who focus on activities that aren’t accessible to you, it can be really damaging to your mental health. This can help you to find friends who get what you're going through.

Self-advocacy and systemic advocacy resources from our peers and organizations can give you the tools and feel empowered to create change. Seeking resources by and for our community can be lifesaving. You’re reading one right now.

Welcome to the community.

At my school, it's a graduation requirement to complete computer science I, but it doesn't even teach computer literacy. It teaches the basics of a couple scripting languages. That's it.

I have learned how to be computer literate because of my electives, not because of my actual computer class.

Technological literacy only exists in a very slim age demographic of people born from roughly 1980 to roughly 2007

I Love Transformers And Drew This Because I Thought Philza As A Seeker Would Fit Him. Loves Flying, He's

I love transformers and drew this because I thought Philza as a seeker would fit him. Loves flying, he's definitely a fighter jet. Then I had to draw Technoblade because his name already sounded like a tf name. He's a space shuttle and they go space exploring together. Have a few hcs for this au? under the cut ^^

I'm just being a nerd here alskdjgsgd Pre-war Philza: Philza is ancient. He's old and had been remodeled a few times. Better engines, sleeker and aerodynamic frame, etc. Got the whole "Angel of Death" thing going on coz he's so good at the craft job. A weapon for hire. It's what he's made for but always found it restrictive to devote his whole life to and sometimes he gets bodyguard jobs for important political figures and those are the worst! He's tired and wants to explore the vast universe. He would have wanted to get into engineering or xenobiology if he could. Most of his equipment are custom made by him. It's a part of his passion. He self taught himself a lot of trades and steals medical books so he knows how to treat himself and patch wounds. He's someone that wants to keep ahead so it makes sense to learn more but he runs into the threat of anyone finding out that the reason he's so good for several years is because he's been secretly doing things outside of what a fighter jet should be.

It drives him up the wall. He wants to be free to do what he wants and be what he wants. So when the decepticons first started making themselves known and the promise of rising up against the corrupt system sounded pretty nice... he doesn't sign up for the cause. He can see the signs of a war a mile a way and he would much rather get out while he can before the political tensions breaks into chaos.

Pre-war Techno: Technoblade would have done delivery work like transporting energon from one of the moons and back. He's space worthy and has pretty thick plating to do the job. He's also bored out of his mind. The most fun he gets is when he gets to travel further from Cybertron to load and unload trades and goods in neighboring planets. A good change in scenery but he always wanted more. So he hears of this illegal gladiatorial pit somewhere and thinks "Yeah, I could do that". There aren't any other choices. Since it's all underground, they wouldn't question a shuttle for wanting to get in. Fighting is cool. He's getting pretty good at it since he's big and that makes for a good show. He trains and finds swords his favorite to use. A crowd favorite the likes like Megatron but Techno would rather not fight the dude? He looks like he's trying to start a movement. That's not the kind of beef he wants to associate himself with. But now he's trapped because the pits aren't really safe in the long run and fighting had turned into outliving everyone else and that's kinda a lot? He just wanted to be more than just the delivery guy but now people know his name and he can't escape coz he's a criminal in the arena. The decepticons wanna recruit him and he really doesn't want to be tied down to anything anymore even if he agrees with their cause.

And then the two meet Philza's looking for a free space shuttle and Techno is looking to get out of Cybertron. They meet and are immediately like "Yeah, of course, we need to get out of here!" Riots are happening around them and they get as much stuff as they can and run. It was easy for them to slip away because everyone's focusing on the war rn. A lot of other neutrals are fleeing too and they blend right in but break away to make it out on their own.

They chill out in space and go planet hopping for supplies for years. If any trouble were to come their way, they destroy it. Typical Techno and Philza shenanigans. They are the strongest duo out there and keep adopting alien pets to go with them. Eventually they get a ship so Techno doesn't have to be a shuttle all the time and they set up a base far away from the war as they can. Headcanons: -They would have joined the decepticons because initially, the cause had some good points. Cybertron needed major change but Megatron's revolution would have been far too violent.

-Philza saw how dangerous the world would get really early on and wanted to get out. Fighting for a war even if he's made for it? Again? Like his whole life? "No sir. I've been through that. It never ends well."

-Technoblade is a name he gave himself in the pits. It's when he was still trying to find his own identity and found his love for pvp and swords.

-Technoblade saw a video of a pig once and said "yeah that's me"

-Philza makes Techno weapons all the time and then teaches him how to make his own.

-They're pretty efficient together but neither of them are mechanics or know how to make their own energon. So it had been a big struggle at first but they're both fast learners.

-They get mistaken for decepticons all the time. It's the stereotype and they fit the bill. Big brutish dude and a seeker. Both armed to the teeth.

-They become amicas after years of having each other's backs. Amica Endura is kinda like a best friends thing
