Would appreciate reblogs to reach a wider sample size!
The Death Toll of the Earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria may have reached 20,000 people, and that’s outside of all those who are injured and lost.
If you could donate PLEASE do!!!
Here’s a post full of charities you could donate to, but I’ll add my own trustworthy ones here:
Islamic Relief: teams are on the ground right now providing emergency food assistance, shelter, medical supplies to hospitals and clinics, as well as blankets and tents for those made homeless by the quake in Turkey and Syria
Molham: The team at Molham are currently on the ground helping displaced families in Turkey and Syria who have been affected by the earthquake
The White Helmets: The team are on the ground in Northwest Syria searching for survivors and removing the dead from the rubble.
MSF: remaining in close contact with the local authorities in northwestern Syria and with the authorities in Turkey to extend their support where it’s needed. They’re providing essential life kits to displaced people in the region
please PLEASE reblog. Syria and Turkiye need our help!!!
Just so we're all on the same page with the writer's strike.
If during the strike, it's announced about AI generated shows. We are not watching them. Not even out of curiosity. Let them fail every AI generated show they try make.
The human voice can not be replaced by AI. Don't let them try.
Do people know about Vocational Rehab? If you're USAmerican they have this in every state.
It's a program that helps disabled folks access education, training, and employment. For FREE.
You only have to be disabled to qualify (autism, ADHD, mental illness, physical illness, etc) and they cover very broad categories of disability. You do NOT have to be officially diagnosed yet when you walk in - they will even help pay for your diagnosis if you are struggling w disability.
I applied with my suspected autism and fibromyalgia, and they paid for 100% of my formal autism assessment.
Once your disability is established they will give you career counseling to learn about your interests and skills, and depending on the plan you create with your caseworker they will then help with school or finding employment. They paid for 100% of my college tuition and books, and even provided a laptop for me to use.
You do not have to pay anything for this program. If you make above a certain income, you will have to contribute to educational costs but will still receive assistance.
They will also help with the cost of things like mental health counseling while you work towards your goals, clothing for interviews, etc.
They cannot discriminate based on your race, gender, or sexual orientation.
They won't make you do excessive meetings.
They will allow you to do meetings with your caseworker remotely.
They will not drug test you.
They want you to succeed.
I'm sure that individual experiences vary but my caseworker was exceptionally easy to work with and very kind.
Vocational Rehab is a phenomenal resource every disabled person should be aware of. Here is the list of offices in every state:
every time you see a headline like this
I want you to remember these ones

Feeling pretty gender today. Happy TDOV from a 44 year old trans man.
As legislation gets more and more hostile towards us, I get increasingly bitter at how visibility without action results in us becoming targets and wedge issues. It’s exhausting.
I hate having to plead every day to cis folks to take this crisis seriously. TDOV especially feels like “beg to be seen as human beings” day.
Every trans person posting today is opening themselves to a spike in harassment that might follow them for the rest of their lives. Just in the hopes that our allies could do something beyond telling us we are valid. We know we are valid. We need action so we have the same opportunities to survive and thrive.
Cis folks, you can challenge transphobia in so many ways:
Give to trans orgs and trans people directly
Stop supporting and platforming transphobes such as the wizard lady
Become more involved in local politics, from contacting your reps to voting regularly
Make your workplace more trans friendly by explicitly protecting gender ID and presentation. Normalize preferred names. Get rid of gendered dress codes. Etc, etc.
Be brave and call out all the casual transphobia you encounter. Even if it’s coming from your own family. Especially here, really.
Listen to trans people. Follow us on social media, uplift our voices where you can. Resist the urge to tell us you’re “one of the good ones”. Learn about our challenges, especially how they intersect with race, disability, etc.
I’m being visible today for fellow trans folks who are being made to make themselves small, or even invisible. I want to let y'all know that you deserve to take up space in this world. That trans folks of all ages exist and have always existed. That being trans is not a tragedy or a threat, just because cis folks think so.
Hard to imagine that it’s been almost twelve years since the last entry in the Monkey Island franchise. I know a lot of people were rather down on Tales compared to other games, but I always rather enjoyed it, and kudos to Telltale for keeping the title around among other games of the time. Though it does sadden me to think that, with Telltale themselves now gone, that’ll likely be the last time we’ll ever see another MI game, since they seemed to be the only ones interested in keeping the genre of adventure games around 😟
doug eiffel is the only wolf 359 character who has unambiguously canonically fucked and the only major character who talks about sex and romance. he has a kid, making him the show's only true dilf, but more importantly, his kid was unplanned. eiffel fucks raw.
