I Love That Andreil Didn’t Try To Hide Their (“not-”)relationship From Anyone, They Just Didn’t

neil canonically doesn’t like being on higher floors because it makes it hard to escape. neil also canonically spends his nights hanging out on a roof with the boy that everyone calls a monster. this speaks VOLUMES for how much he trusts andrew and how much he’s grown as a person

I always thought Andrew's big tips were actually for the drugs??? Like to pay them in an inconspicuous way??? The cracker dust at sweetie's and the drug for neil at eden's (also wasn't it aaron who paid in the first sweetie's scene???)

the very excessive tips at sweetie’s were definitely for the cracker dust! but in chapter 9 of the raven king, when all the foxes go to columbia together for halloween, there’s the quote: “Nicky's friendship with the staff and Andrew's generous tips got them instant access and ridiculous discounts on drinks”. so i guess it’s only really confirmed that he tips well at eden’s, but i’m assuming he’d do the same at sweetie’s (even without the cracker dust), especially since they continue to go there after andrew’s deal to quit using the cracker dust. plus, nicky worked there as a host before getting his job at eden’s (it says that in chapter 12 of trk) which would be even more incentive to leave good tips :)

(i think you’re right about aaron paying for sweetie’s and the drugs in tfc. maybe they take turns paying? regardless, he left lots of tips too so i bet they’re just all really generous tippers!)

i just think that if i go one more day without meeting the foxes i’ll cry

i really wish we’d had more hernandez content, because he was obviously important to neil. like neil didn’t flinch at all when hernandez reached to help him up after andrew slammed him w the racquet, he clearly cared for neil and wanted to see him succeed, he was probably the person neil most trusted (although still warily) in millport. like i bet he puts up all the newspaper clippings about neil that he can find, and i bet he follows neil’s life through the news (and is shocked when the truth about his past comes out). i hope that neil gives him a ticket to watch him at the olympics. anyway, i want more hernandez content 

jerejean fics are so much fun to read bc in aftg the characters more or less roll with the hits and just kind of accept what’s going on, and it doesn’t seem that out of the ordinary when you read it, but then you see how jeremy reacts to jean’s stories in the fanfics and it’s like... oh right... that’s actually probably how a normal person would react in this scenario

andrew never liked snow days, because staying home meant he couldn’t escape the house that day. they didn’t happen often, ofc, w him being in cali, but that didn’t make them any less dreaded

when he wakes up one day and sees snow out of his window at palmetto, andrew tenses. classes and practice are cancelled, because it’s south carolina and snow cancels everything. andrew stays in bed that day, back against the wall, body tense, eyes alert

neil doesn’t mind. he makes some hot chocolate for andrew and places it within his reach without getting too close. he grabs warm clothes for andrew to change into, and when the offer goes ignored, neil grabs blankets from the living room and tosses them to andrew, who stares at neil for a moment before bundling them around his slightly shivering body

neil offers andrew memories. watching movies with his mom in front of the fire. snowmen and steaming showers when the cold soaked into his bones. thick socks and long scarves. warm mittens and chai tea with a cinnamon stick, his favourite winter treat growing up

andrew listens. the tension in his body slowly eases throughout the day, but his back never leaves the wall and his eyes remain wary. he doesn’t tell neil why he hates the snow, and neil doesn’t ask for that truth. neil just stays in the room, watching games with headphones or doing homework or taking a nap

andrew doesn’t say anything. it doesn’t bother neil

the next day is the weekend, and most of the snow has melted. when neil enters the dorm kitchen in the morning, andrew is already there

and waiting for neil on the counter is a mug of hot chai tea with a cinnamon stick

it’s the way that the foxes didn’t stay anywhere overnight all year and instead drove home in the middle of the night every single time to avoid being stuck somewhere unfamiliar, but they willingly stayed at a hotel when neil was taken and would’ve been fine with booking a second night when he came back to them if that’s what he wanted. like andrew would’ve stabbed them if they even thought about leaving, but the best part is that he didn’t even have to. i’m sorry i’m just crying

neil actually cleaned out his cuts and burns after lola tortured him??? while he still thought he was going to die???? like i cannot emphasize enough how much that hurts. i literally had a blister that rubbed off on my foot and cried for days afterwards whenever i tried to clean it out with water, and here neil is even using s o a p?????? it paid off bc he lived and his wounds didn’t get infected but ow
