when jean told neil that “fun is for children” at the winter banquet, he probably actually believed what he was saying. i doubt this traumatized man has genuinely had fun since he was a kid back in france - and even then it was probably rare bc let’s be real, if your parents sell you to the yakuza to pay off debts, it’s unlikely they provided a childhood full of sunshine

it’s so wild that nicky and aaron could understand everything neil and andrew were saying to each other during the baltimore reunion scene, all the easy conversation and percentages and references to past comments, and they STILL had the absolute audacity to appear surprised when allison pointed out andreil’s not-a-thing relationship like-

i really wish we’d had more hernandez content, because he was obviously important to neil. like neil didn’t flinch at all when hernandez reached to help him up after andrew slammed him w the racquet, he clearly cared for neil and wanted to see him succeed, he was probably the person neil most trusted (although still warily) in millport. like i bet he puts up all the newspaper clippings about neil that he can find, and i bet he follows neil’s life through the news (and is shocked when the truth about his past comes out). i hope that neil gives him a ticket to watch him at the olympics. anyway, i want more hernandez content 

it’s funny to think that kevin was completely oblivious while watching exy in the bedroom when neil and andrew were making out right outside the door. BUT it’s even funnier to imagine that since he likely already knew andreil was a thing/not-a-thing and he heard the nicky leave, he was just,, sitting in there and trying so hard to focus on the game while turning his headphones to max volume and internally screaming at himself not to leave the room 

neil going around the baltimore hotel and checking the drawers to make sure nothing was left behind is too pure. they may have adopted him, but he still looks out for his own. and he also definitely thinks they’re not responsible enough to remember to check 

andrew frequently wakes up in the middle of the night and tenses at the feeling of skin against his own, but he instantly relaxes when he feels the ridges and bumps of neil’s scars and callouses, completely at odds with the slick, groping hands of his foster siblings. the remnants of neil’s trauma help andrew cope with his own

when neil ditched kevin to go sit with andrew on the bus and matt held kevin back, it’s 100% because matt was rooting for the tiny terrors to get together (and yes they were already “not-a-this” at this point but matt didn’t know that)

hc that andrew smashed all of bee’s glass figurines at one of their first sessions by throwing his hot chocolate mug at them, just to see how she’d react. when she remained calm and pleasant and wasn’t phased, he finally started to warm up to her ever so slightly and he has been building her collection back up ever since 

so you're telling me that nicky, a bad gay driver, was driven around by andrew, a bad gay driver, and he still... didn't realize that andrew was gay af?? nicky c'mon

“My Things”, Part 2 of this project complete! If the last one was an action heavy climax from Neil’s perspective, this is the cool down from Riko’s perspective. And what could cool down something better than Andrew and Neil’s icy stare?

My gosh, trying to capture Andrew’s ‘bored’ stare-down is like capturing lightning in a bottle. Neil’s shit eating grin, I can’t decide, is either trailing from his baiting Riko, or his exhilaration at Andrew’s definitive intervention. (probably both)
