neil likes sweet things, just not artificial sweetness. it’s canon that he likes fruit, which is packed with natural sugars!! i think that this also translates to people for him - if someone has a mask up or seems too nice (re: renee, bee, etc), he tends to be wary of them. he really just craves authenticity 

you said i could send more asks (and i just thought of this so) what do you think of the extra content? ive seen a lot of mixed views but everyone mostly disregards it so i was just wondering what parts you liked and what parts you didnt

as a general rule, i accept the things that are set pre-canon and most canon-timeline stuff (why andrew’s afraid of heights, that kevin noticed andreil first, renee’s past, etc). the stuff that i don’t love (mostly post-canon), i tend to view as headcanons rather than stuff that would happen in the canon universe. like the no renison, no jerejean, twinyards growing apart - i don’t vibe with those, but i respect that other people might

some of the post-canon stuff that i do like is the cats, robin, how andreil navigates intimacy (besides the no hugging), and andrew sleeping w his back to the wall, among others. i also don’t actually mind the no marriage thing for them, and i’m passive about the no “i love you”s

idk! i’m pretty indifferent about most of it. i was just excited to have more content from the author! i pick and choose what i want to consider canon, and i just disregard the rest :) 

neil “i’m fine” josten telling wymack after coming back from evermore that no, no, he’s not alright just... pierces my heart every time i think about it. you can really see how much neil’s grown by how he finally begins to trust someone other than himself or his mom. he puts himself in such a vulnerable position when he reaches out, especially by asking for help from an older man (given his past). and the way that wymack drops everything during winter break to immediately rush to the airport, i just-

ooo this is fun! my three random facts: i’m on the ace spec, i went to canadian nationals for biathlon, and i have an unhealthy obsession with tangled

okay uhhhh describe what neil looks like in your head (hair, if he has freckles, is he pale? etc.)

omg thank you for reading my tags and sending this ask hahah ily anon <3 okay so for me, neil has like wavy wiry hair and it’s a dark red/auburn, he has faint freckles but he wears hoods and so many layers that he doesn’t have a ton bc he’s protected from the sun, his eyes are just slightly too calculating and make him v intimidating (esp without the contacts), and he’s definitely pale - i get people wanting him to be tan but like,, have you ever seen a redhead tan?? nope! me neither! bc they burn and/or freckle (so i guess i picture him w extra freckles in the summer then too)

hc that neil and andrew develop the habit of softly singing their own versions of “these are a few of my favourite things” to themselves or each other on bad days

nicky buys andrew rainbow socks at pride one year as a joke and also as a futile attempt to bond. he forgets about them, but andrew often wears them under his black boots (especially when they go to eden’s) and no one knows about it. years later, at psu, nicky walks in on neil and andrew asleep on the couch. and there, peeking out from under blankets and neil’s legs, are the rainbow socks on andrew’s feet. nicky doesn’t take a picture because it feels too personal, but his heart soars at the sight and he cherishes this small victory

when jean told neil that “fun is for children” at the winter banquet, he probably actually believed what he was saying. i doubt this traumatized man has genuinely had fun since he was a kid back in france - and even then it was probably rare bc let’s be real, if your parents sell you to the yakuza to pay off debts, it’s unlikely they provided a childhood full of sunshine
