some people are so chronically online they cannot separate fiction vs reality. this is not about anything specific however it is a lot of issues mixed together.
i know a lot of people hear the word “chronically online” and tune out but hear me out. a lot of teenagers and preteens nowadays and even some millennials have been so absorbed in this world of the internet where you constantly feel like you have to fight for things that you feel is right that you start to go tunnel vision and ignore genuine, actual issues.
i will see people actively throw whole ass tantrums over fictional. content. whether it is a show, a movie, a game, or fan content.
people will try to “cancel” or even threaten a voice actor who plays as a villain, and this has happened!!! so many times!!!!
if a show includes a homophobic/transphobic/racist character, that does not make the show morally bad. if those bad actions are condemned in the show, that is the creators saying “hey this thing is bad and is frowned upon”. that does not give you or anyone the right to go after the creators or actors of the show.
“but how could they be okay with playing that character?” because they can separate fiction. from reality. they know they themselves do not agree with those morals, they are simply playing a character.
if you focus so much time and energy into putting people down over something fictional you are going to ignore what actual issues are occurring in the world.
i have seen an artist on twitter have the police called on them because One Person didnt like something they drew and also hated them for drawing gore. drawing gore harms absolutely no one, i promise. and if you personally believe it does, guess what? you can instead choose to give a shit about actual people who non-consensually hurt real life people. wow, imagine that. contribute to real world politics and making changes, stop cancelling people on twitter bc they drew something you didnt like. stop hating on people who like a media you don’t like.
“if you like x you are a bad person” me liking a show about gay hell demons does not make me a bad person. me liking a show, movie, etc with villains who are terrible people does not make me a bad person. imagine that?
you do not know what people do outside of the internet. you don’t know what charities they may donate to, you don’t know what race, gender, or sexuality they are (unless they say it online). you don’t know what causes they fight for. you don’t. know. and doing One thing that you don’t like does not doom them for all eternity. i guarantee you no one outside the internet gives a shit about someone liking gay porn of problematic characters. or a show with morally questionable people. or a fanfiction author who writes guro smut.
please stop ignoring real world issues in favor of fictional shit. adopt the classic saying “if you don’t like, scroll.”
remember, censoring things you don’t like is exactly what nazis did! don’t be that way, yeah?
Yeah... my life is pretty Boring . But hey ! why not !? 😅
Thanks for this post! More people needs to know this. People on the internet are getting more delusional everyday and this need to stop. Plus parents needs to stop to . I do have my fair share of similar situation and now i just feel like im actually the worst person in the world even tough I'm not.
you know how some parents do that toxic thing where they don’t notice or reward kids for improving their behavior, but every screw-up gets remarked upon and used to inflict shame? so you’re stuck in that awful cycle where there are no rewards, only the inevitability of eventual punishment?
hey, whatever happened to franz ferdinand?
NOTHING makes me more mad than people shoving aside creepy behavior just because the person in question is neurodivergent and doesn't pick up on social skills well. there was this girl in high school who got way too touchy with me no matter how many times I told her to stop and the fucking school guidance counselor and school psychologist were like "well you can't blame her because she can't pick up on social cues well". i'm neurodivergent too but if someone begs me to stop doing something it's kind of fucking clear they don't like it???
just the way people approach neurodivergency is so infantilizing I hate it. if you ever reblog a post about how it's ableist to react angrily to someone invading your space i'll fucking kill you. half the things you guys call ableism are just straight up not, and this isn't even a tumblr thing, it's something supposed medical professionals believe.
Twili charisma is too powerful, created a polycule that defies social statuses and racism
I have drawn Lawrence for a project in art class . But this is just a draft copy.
jokes aside i think it’s amazing and heartwarming to see like 4chan incel bros perform the miracle of crawling out of that hole and becoming real human beings and chronicling their journey to realizing that they can be well adjusted happy normal dudes
We did it boys. We did it.
If you ever cross my path. I'm so sorry in advance. please just let me be me!! i'm only in my twenties and i'm already in crisis ! i'm being followed by the OPERATOR. 🇨🇦🚩🚩CANADIAN🚩🚩🇨🇦
