To me, the craziest thing about this panel isn't the extremely charged handshake, nor the intense eye contact, but rather the perspective.

Furudate is really good at toying with perspective to convey the story's motifs and themes. Here, thanks to the perspective, it looks like the net is above Hinata and Kageyama, when in fact it isn't that tall. In fact, I know it's right between them. But with the way this panel was drawn, it looks like they're facing each other with an unobstructed view.

The imagery here is clear: it doesn't matter that they're on opposite sides of the net now, there's nothing keeping them apart anymore. They stand on even ground, on equal footing, face to face.

That said, these are (in no particular order) the top 5 Lams fics I’ve read:

Ocular by iniquiticity (Historical Lams). If you’ve been reading Lams fic, you’ll probably have come across this masterpiece. The imagery is just, god, so beautiful ✨

I give my body, that I be burned by Cupola (Historical Lams). The dialogue, the 18th century language, the smut—as von Steuben would say, goddamn! 🔥

A Soldiers’ Chorus by Blue_Clover ( @fightinglaffy ) (Historical Lams) A ghost AU that first shattered my heart into pieces and then skillfully stuck it back together again 💔

His Voice by Sunnyrea (Historical Lams; notice a theme yet? xD) The absolute sweetest little fic, where Hamilton reads to Laurens. I adore it ❣️

And still, I am grateful by spots_of_violet (Historical Lams). This one is still a wip, but it’s a gorgeous Laurens lives AU, and I continually reread what’s been posted so far! 👀

And, a bonus (I know it’s 5 but I’m breaking that law lmao) fic I’m most looking forward to reading! University work has spoiled my fic reading time lately, but:

Suite Madame Blue by peblezQ ( @peblezq ) a Laurens Lives AU, is staring tantalizingly at me from my bookmarks. Considering how much I love their other Lams fics (and some are modern AUs, if you’re interested) I’m excited to read it!

Lol, yeah it says “I love you” but in a completely platonic way. “By actions rather than words” obviously talking about a bro hug. 

Wow, look at that friendship. Wish I had a bestfriend like that. 

He was just generally trying to get his friend to remember his nose length. And those five words are probably “I love you, but platonically”. The only reason why the words have been crossed out is because the power of friendship was too strong.

Look at it, do you see it, isn’t it obvious by now. The power of their friendship is so beautiful.

Yes, he says “My Dr. Laurens” but that is because he wanted him to know of their friendship. 

Omg get your mind out of the gutter, the key word here is like.

Damn guess we’ll never know what those words said. Too bad.

Rationing Insulin.

I have been rationing my insulin at the expense of my health because I simply do not have the funds to replace pens. As a result my blood sugar has been spiking and staying stagnant at dangerously high levels.

I do not know or want to know what possessed me to ration my medication knowing I could possibly die from it. I haven’t been in my right state of mind in a while.

Currently I am on the medication Toujeo and I am uninsured so I have to pay out of pocket. So I am utilizing GoodRx to get me the cheapest option. I would be so immensly grateful to anyone who could spare towards my medication. I am running dangerously low and I don’t want to die from DKA.
