I'm More Than- Halstead Sister

… I'm more than I'm more than I'm more than

Y/n Halstead laughed as she and her friends spoke of one of them nearly fainting at the sight of fake blood around a life like dummy which portrayed a scene.

"You know you won't be able to do that if you work on an actual scene right." Y/n stated to her friend who just rolled her eyes. "Listen, I had an off day alright, I can handle blood." Her friend stated, throwing her hands in front of her in exasperation. "Sure you can." Y/n agreed with a laugh as they reached the corner they split up at.

Y/n waved at her three friends as she watched them cross the road before turning down to the alleyway which lead to her apartment. She sighed and threw her hands in her pockets to protect them from the cold when she was suddenly grabbed from behind. She screamed and clawed at the arm which surrounded her throat, trying to escape. She gasped in pain as she was pushed against the concrete wall.

… Body, let me see your body Take off all your makeup and your clothes Trust me, why don't you just trust me? You're the only beauty, show me more

"Shut it and this will end quickly?" A rough voice spoke to her, grabbing her bag and throwing it away from her. "Please, leave me alone, take my money, my phone, anything, just please, dont hurt me" y/n begged as she tried to fight him. "Shut up, I dont want nothing off you, dont want to hear you." He stated as he pushed her head to the wall and tried to get rid of her jeans. "No please no, stop please." She cried, trying to kick only to be forced onto the ground.

She screamed as he continued his assault on her.

… You're not a dime a dozen Oh, your skin is golden Let me show the whole damn world You're one in a billion The only thing you're missin' Is some tape over that mouth.

Y/n cried as she stayed lying on the ground, refusing to move as the unknown guy got off of her. She placed her hands over her head as a source of protection, preventing her from seeing who it was.

"Dont fucking move till I'm gone." The guy told her, pulling her hair so her head was off the ground before leaving her.

Y/n cried as she lay on the ground, unable to move with the pain she felt. Slowly, she reached for her Jean's as sits up, winching at any small movement. After sorting herself out she just sat on ground, head down crying. She looked up when heard footsteps, half afraid it was her attacker coming back.

She looked away when she realized it was her neighbour who crouched down in front of her. Turning her attention back to the woman in front of her, she watched as she spoke, unable to hear anything over the ringing in her ears. She jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder, before looking down in shame as she refused to look at woman in front of her.

"Hello ambulance please, there's a young girl in distress here, looks like attacked. Thank you."

Y/n glanced in the direction of her woman when she heard the word ambulance. Afraid to startle her, the woman kept her distance as they waited before flagging down ambulance when the sirens were heard. The woman walked towards Sylvie and Mills as they get out and go towards her before nodding and grabbing their back board and medical supplies bag. As they tried to help y/n started to fight them, not seeing clearly on who it was.

"No, please no." Y/n cried, afraid of someone touching her. "She's in too much distress, we need to sedate her." Sylvie stated to Mills who nods and grabs the needle from the bag. "Please, I don't want them to know, please." Y/n mumbled as she started to drift unconscious.

… Body, I'm more than my body You can pack your things up, buh bye, just go Body, I'm more than my body Don't owe you a thing, no, not at all

"What we got?" Maggie called out as sylvie and Mills wheel y/n into med. "20 year old female, found in alleyway close to apartment, likely to be assaulted, had to be sedated as she was distraught when we got there, found by woman who says her name is y/n" Mills recited as Maggie, Ethan and Conor help bring the patient to trauma bay. "y/n?" Ethan asks as he recognizes who it is. "Bring will down, tell him its his sister." Conor stated to Maggie after moving y/n from the board. "Also call Natalie, if she has been assaulted we may need to do rape test." Ethan told the head nurse. "On it." Maggie nodded before pulling the curtain and heading to her desk, paging Will on her way.

… I'm not a toy to play with Not just a sight to see and My mind is worth its weight in gold I'm not a dime a dozen I know I'm worth this, more than You will ever know

Will rushed down into the ER after getting paged. She looks around to see that the ER wasn't that busy and his patients had no change in them. Glancing around, he sees Maggie at the nurses station and rushes towards her in confusion.

"I was paged" He asked her when he reached the area. Maggi looks at him before nodding her head towards the staff area. "Maggie what is going on?" Will asked impatiently when Maggie wouldn't answer him. "Will, I need you to remain calm alright." Maggie stated, putting her hands up in front of her in a calming motion. "Maggie what is it?" Will asked impatiently. "Will, your sister came in via ambulance today." "Y/n, what, where is she? Is she okay?" Will asked, pushing past Maggie to enter the ER to look for his sister. "Will wait, she's unconscious right now but Connor and Ethan are looking over her now alright. Look, she's in bay 4 but for now hang tight." Maggie tried to explain as Will ran a hand through his hair. "Can I see her? Maggie I need to see her." "Will you can't see her right now, not until she's cleared for visitors you know the drill. She's an adult and therefore doesn't need supervision." "Maggie..." "Will try it and I will have you off the floor for the rest of shift." Maggie warned, pointing a finger at him.

Will sighs and sits on couch, putting hands on his face, rubbing his eyes in frustration. Maggie rubbed his shoulder in encouragement before leaving to work on more papers.

Touch me, you just want to feel me You just want to share me You don't care at all Trust you, why don't I just trust you? You just want to use me Now I know Body, I'm more than my body You will never get me, buh bye, just go

Y/n groaned when light shone into her eyes, blinking rapidly as sge turns her head only to see a heart monitor. Her eyes widen as she realizes where she is and sits up rapidly. She groaned when she seen the drip in her arm before snapping her head to the door when footsteps were heard. Ethan came into her view and she watched cautisly.

"Hey, your awake." He smiled, staying near the door in case. She smiled weakly, wringing her hands together. "I'm going to call Natalie, she's going to be taking care of you, I'm glad to see you awake."

Y/n stares ahead of her as memories of what happened to her replays in her head. Tears come to her eyes as she realizes it had actually happened and wasn't just a bad dream. She jumps when she hears nock on glass, seeing Natalie come into the room.

"Sorry" Natalie spoke sympathetically, " how you feeling y/n?" Natalie smiled softly as she walked in. Y/n shrugs and looks down slightly. Natalie clears her throat and moves towards the bed. "I'm just going to check you over, is that okay?" Natalie asked, waiting for y/n to nod hesitantly before moving closer. The two stayed in silence as y/ns vitals were checked, y/n watching with glossy eyes. "Alright, your all good, I just have some questions I need to ask you, alright?" Y/n nodded, glancing up at the doctor. "You had to be sedated due to being in distress, can you tell me why that was?" Natalie asked. Y/n shrugged and remained silent. "Y/n I just need to know so I can help you. Did somebody hurt you?" Natalie asked again, trying to get an answer from the younger Halstead. Y/n looked up and over Natalie's shoulder to see Will looking over at where she was being treated. "Y/n please, I can't help you if you don't tell me, did somebody touch you?" Natalie asked again, desperate to help the girl she had known since she was 16. That's all it took for y/n to burst out crying. "Y/n, what happened?" Natalie asked, coming closer and pulling y/n into a hug. Y/n choked in tears as she clung to Natalie. "Y/n, I need to do a rape test on you? Do you consent to that?" Y/n froze as Natalie said the word she dreaded to hear or say, realizing that it was real. "It will help as evidence against the guy should you take it further. And I can be sure that no internal damage is there." Natalie explained, rubbing y/n's arm gently, pulling away when she jumped. "Yes." Y/n spoke in a whisper, not recognizing her own voice. "I'll be back shortly, do you want visitors?" Natalie smiled weakly before leaving as y/n shook her head no.

I'm more than I'm more than I'm more than My body

Will watched in the distance as Natalie spoke to his sister, before standing up when she started crying. He opened the door of staff room to go to her when Maggie sees and quickly pulls curtain and close door before stopping him.

"Maggie please..." "Will no, I promise as soon as you can you can go." Maggie persisted, placing a hand on his chest to push him back.

Will sighs and leans against desk, rubbing forehead before looking around, only to see Jay.

"Jay." Will called ,gaining attention of his brother. "Will, hey. What's up?" Jay asked, turning to face his brother after finishing talking to Sharon. "You don't know?" Will asked, confused. "Know what?" Jay asked his brother in confusion. "Jay, y/ns here in hospital. She was brought in earlier." "Wait what, is she okay? Where is she?" "Bay 4 but Maggie won't let me see her yet, she's not clear for visitors." Will sighed. "To hell with that I'm going to see our sister, which ones bay 4."

"Ehh, where do you two think your going?" Maggie asked, stepping in front of the two brothers in frustration, knowing what they were about to say. "Maggie, where's my sister?" Jay asked ,looking around to see if he could see her face. "Jay, I am going to tell you the exact same thing as I told Will, you can't see her yet, as soon as you can I will let you know. For now, don't you have a job to do." Maggie stated in slight annoyance. "My sister is more important then my job." "Well you can't see her so either do your job, or go wait with your brother. Try see her and I kick you out of the hospital, that goes for both of you." Maggie stated, pointing at them both. Jay turned and looked at his brother. "I'm actually here for a possible assault so I'm going to see how were getting on." He stated before turning to leave.

Will turned his attention to Natalie as she came out of the room where his sister was.

"Maggie, can I get a rape kit brought down here please, ASAP." Natalie asked, causing Will to look at her. "Nat, what's wrong with y/n?" Will asked, gaining his brothers attention once again. "Not now Will, I'll explain later." Natalie spoke, moving away from him and towards the folders. "Natalie you just ordered a rape kit and I'm supposed to just let it go as if you weren't just in with my sister, what the hell happened?" Will spoke in exasperation, trying to make a point. "Will seriously, drop it. Your sister is twenty years old, I do not need to tell you anything. And the rape kit isn't for her" Natalie stated, lying to him before moving away towards another patient. "Can you at least tell me if it's okay to see her." "Not now." Natalie shook her head before leaving the two Hallstead's to sigh in frustration.

I'm more than I'm more than I'm more than My body

Y/n lay on bed as Natalie did the test on her, April standing by for help and to reassure the youngest Halstead that she wasn't alone. The room was silent as the test was done, the doctor and nurse not believing that it happened and the patient fearing the nightmare would never end.

"Alright, all done. Bring these to forensics so they can test it, see what they find." Natalie spoke to April, placing the blanket back over y/ns legs before giving April the bag of evidence. April nodded and left, closing curtain and door behind her. "Are you hungry, thirsty? I can get something sent up to you if you would like?" Natalie asked the young girl as she stood up, taking off her gloves. "No, I'm okay." Y/n spoke softly, still afraid to speak. Natalie sighed and moved closer. "You know this wasn't your fault, you didn't ask for this." Natalie spoke. "Do my brothers know?" "No, but they have been impatiently waiting around since you came in, breaking Maggies heart they are." Natalie joked, trying to get y/n to ease slightly. "I know they won't hurt me, but, I'm scared, even those who I know and trust I feel like I can't." "I can't imagine what your going through, but just know that there are people here for you." Natalie spoke softly, causing y/n to look down slightly. "Erin and Kim want to ask you some questions if your up for it." Y/n nodded and looked up at Natalie who smiled at her kindly. "Yeah, I suppose I should."

Y/n looked down again as she heard the door open and Natalie talking before two pairs of footsteps were heard.

"Hi y/n, are you okay to talk?"

I'm more than I'm more than I'm more than My body

Will came out of a patients room before seeing Jay standing near exit. He moved closer and stands beside him, seeing him looking at y/ns area.

"Hey, any news?" Jay asked. "Nope, haven't heard a thing since last spoke to Natalie, how's your case?" "Burgess and Erin are talking to the victim now." "God, I can't imagine taking that case." "I'm glad we haven't had to deal with that close to home." Jay stated, glancing at Will before turning back to y/n's room as he loked on in confusion.

Seeing his brothers confusion Will turned in the direction Jay was watching to see Burgess and Erin leaving y/n's room, Natalie following close behind. Jay looks at Will and the two walk closer as the three women talk.

"Erin, what's going on?" Jay asked as he and his brother stop in front of the three. "Nat?" Will asked, turning to his college and girlfriend "I thought y/n wasn't up for visitors, why were they in there." Erin and Natalie looked at each other before facing the two Halsteads. "Will, Jay. There's no easy way to say this but, y/n has been assaulted by a man outside her home around lunch time." Erin explained to the two brothers carefully. "That's why you couldn't see her, because we weren't sure what way she would react." Natalie explained as Burgess moved away from the group as a message came through. "So she was raped, my sister was raped." Jay stated in shock as Will ran a hand through his hair in disbelief. "I know it's hard to hear but you have to be there for y/n now. She needs you more than ever." Natalie stated as Kim came back. "Forensics got results back from the rape kit, we're looking at the same guy we've been looking for from the other women." Kim stated as she came towards the group. "Okay, let's get back to intelligence, Jay, I'll let Voight now hat your hear with your sister." Erin stated. "Thanks." Jay stated ,still in shock of what he heard. "Can we see her now?" Will asked, wanting to be there for his sister. "I'll ask her if she's up to it." Natalie nodded before moving towards the door which had y/n behind it.

I'm more than I'm more than I'm more than My body

Y/n looked up with fear as she heard the door open before relaxing when she seen Natalie pop her head in.

"Hey y/n, Will and Jay are outside, are you up to seeing them?" She asked softly, not wanting to spook the girl before smiling when she nodded her head

"Okay, she said it's okay. Just be cautious, keep your distance, let her come to you." Natalie explained before opening the door fully and allowing the two boys in.

Will and jay look at there sister, hearts breaking at how broken she looked. Y/n watched as Will took a seat and moved it away from the bed to allow distance as y/n watched the two as they moved.

"Hey, how you feeling?" Will asked, only for Jay to elbow his stomach as y/n looked down. "Right, silly question, sorry." Will answered, waiting y/n to speak. "I'm sorry." Y/n whispered, causing both boys to look at her. "You have nothing to be sorry for, it's not your fault. This shouldn't of happened so don't blame yourself." Jay spoke, shaking his head in disagreement. "No, I know, I'm sorry I can't go near you. I know you wouldn't hurt me but I am scared." Y/n cried, afraid she was disappointing them. "It's okay, you don't have to apologize, we'll get through this, together." Will stated, causing y/n to nod and smile slightly at the two.

I'm more than I'm more than I'm more than

Six months later, Will and Jay stood with y/n outside the court room, preparing for the trial against y/n's rapist. Thanks to y/n's fighting they had gathered sufficient amounts of DNA to discover who the guy was. Now, all y/n had to do was stand in front of the jury and explain what happened, while looking at her attacker in the eye.

"We'll be sitting behind you if you need us." Jay stated, still keeping distance as y/n hadn't felt comfortable enough to allow men to touch her yet. "You've got it, just look at us if you need encouragement alright." Will stated, smiling at y/n who took a shaky breath as Erin came towards them to bring her to the court.

Y/n looked around as they entered the courtroom. The doctors and nurses of Chicago med (Natalie, April, Maggie, Sharon, Conor, Ethan and Dr. Charles) as well as those from intelligence (Antonio, Kevin, Adam, Kim, Mouse and Trudy) had come to show there support as well as the paramedics who brought her to med, Sylvie and Mills. She refused to look towards the guy who was being held as a rapist as she waited for the judge to come forward, before standing up as the case began. She looked down as the information of her case, as well as other women who had been attacked by the same man, was recited to the court, before looking up when the man was brought to the stand.

She watched as he looked out to the crowd with no emotion, listening to the charges as he pleaded not-guilty. Her mouth opened wide as he looked at her as he came down from the stand, grinning at her with a sick smirk before he was pulled to sit down. She turned back to face her brothers who smiled and nodded at her in encouragement. She turned back as the judge called for recess so the Jury could come to their verdict.

Y/n sat outside the court room as Will and Jay spoke to their colleges about the case. She looked up as she heard someone clear their throat.

"It's okay, there's too much evidence there for them not to give him a sentence." Erin spoke softly, gaining the attention of the rest. "Yeah, if it was me he'd be somewhere no one would find him." Jay muttered but Erin shot him a glare before they were called back in. "That was quick, Does that mean something bad?" Y/n asked Erin frantically. "It doesn't mean anything yet. There just ready to announce the outcome." "God I feel sick." Y/n stated as they headed back to the courtroom, standing as the judge came back in.

"Has the Jury come to a verdict?" The judge asked, looking at the Jury. "We have your honor." The speaker announced. "Carry on." "For the assault against Ms. Abigail Roche we define the defendant, guilty of this charge. For the assault against Ms. Sophia and Amelia Dunne, we define the defendant guilty of this charge. And for the assault against Ms. Y/n Halstead, we define the defendant guilty of this charge." The speaker read out, causing y/n to sigh in relief and Erin to rub her back. "The defendant has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Court dismissed." The judge stated, hitting his hammer before everyone stood up.

Y/n sighed in relief and smiled at Erin as they gathered there stuff before leaving the court room. The two walked out of the building to see Jay and Will standing near the car, waiting for them. Jay and WIll smiled at them as they came towards them.

"Hey, it's all over now." Jay smiled, placing a hand on Wills shoulder as he also smiled. Y/n smiled before running towards the two, pulling them into a hug. Erin smiled as she watched both brothers tear up as their sister hugged them for the first time since her assault.

"I'm proud of you." Will smiled, "Can I have another hug?" He asked, causing y/n to wrap her arms around his neck in a proper hug. "We are always here for you, don't ever forget it." Jay spoke as y/n hugged him again. "I love you." Y/n smiled. "I love you too." Will and Jay smiled, glad to have their sister with them.

Secrets can't always be kept to yourself (Masterlist)

Y/n is a 17 year old girl who, like Reid, graduated early and is now doing an internship with the FBI. Having worked with the young girl since she begun and become impressed with the way she works, the BAU crew took a liking to her and took her under their wing. But no matter how close you become to someone, you never know what they can be hiding, and maybe figuring out the signs can happen too late.

1960's love

Info: Y/n and Steve meet when they were teenagers before he became Captain America, now in the 21st Century the two say their long awaited vows after overcoming it all.

Relationship: Steve Rogers x reader

1960's Love

Y/n smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror, smoothing the white dress she had on. This was the moment she was waiting for, her and Steve's wedding day. She had dreamed of this from the moment they had met back in 1963. The two were at a gathering when they bumped into each other. Y/n had fallen for the blue eyes that she made eye contact with from the moment they left, and she couldn't believe the life she now lived.

Why can't we go back to '63? To sit in those old drive-in seats And listen to Elvis sing While we kiss in the backseat When we'd both make it home past dark From watching the moon hug the stars You'd hold my hand tight As we part for the night

Young y/n giggled as she allowed Steve to lead her back to his dads car that he had borrowed for the night. She waved goodbye to her mother who stood at the front door, watching her youngest enter the car of her new lover, apparently ‘the one’. There was a love hate relationship between Steve and her parents since they started courting, and y/n could only smile watching the awkward silences between her family and boyfriend. It didn’t take much for Steve to be awkward, hell he was awkward for weeks after they begun hanging out. It had taken Bucky to get him to ask her out in the first place.

“Where are we going tonight?” Y/n asked, smiling at Steve as he started up the car. “I thought we might go for a outdoor cinema tonight. Hang out in the car.” Steve stated, glancing at his girlfriend before watching the road. “How romantic.” Y/n joked, causing Steve to smile slightly. “What’s on.” “Elvis performance.” Steve spoke with a grin, knowing how much y/n loved Elvis’s songs. “You’ve won me there.” Y/n stated, grinning from ear. “I thought as much.” Steve mocked her causing her to giggle.

Steve parked near the back of the cars parked and turned off the ignition. Y/n smiled as they moved to the back of the car. Steve grabbed some drinks for them before the movie started, and y/n cuddled into his side, feeling his hand on her back. But neither were them were paying attention to the movie, for all they could hear was the breathing between them. Wanting to be closer, Steve brought his hand up to y/n’s cheek, and caressed it gently before moving her chin up to face him. Y/n smiled up at him before moving closer to bring her lips to his. Both smiled into the kiss as they forgot about the movie, melting into each others embrace.

It's when you pull me close Scrunch your nose Whisper in my ear Nice and slow You'd say you're my 1960s, baby Never leave my side We can fall asleep Under the stars or sneak out tonight

Steve drove y/n home after the film was over. Their night had been filled with love and laughter, yet both wouldn’t allow themselves to get carried away, instead opting to enjoy being together instead. Y/n was half asleep as they neared her house, and Steve could only admire her, with her head leaning against the car window, eyes half shut. Bringing the car to a stop, Steve opened his door and got out as y/n pulled her head up, looking around in confusion.

Y/n allowed Steve to open her door and take her hand, helping her out of the car. Kissing his cheek in thanks, y/n moved towards the pathway up to her house as Steve closed the car door. It was late by now, and all the lights in her house was off, but y/n knew that her father was no doubt up in the back kitchen, nursing his nightly brandy.

“Look.” Steve whispered in her ear, pointing up to the sky. Y/n looked up to see the night stars and half moon up above them. “It’s beautiful.” Y/n whispered in awe. “Come on.”

Steve tugged at y/n’s hand and moved towards the steps of y/n’s house. Sitting on them, Steve pulled y/n to sit beside him before wrapping an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to him. Y/n sighed in content and curled into her boyfriend, enjoying each others company.

“I want my life to be with you y/n. Everything I do will be for you.” Steve whispered, placing his head on her shoulder, kissing it gently. “I believe you are the one for me, never let me go.” Y/n stated, looking at him through her lashes.

Steve scrunched his nose a little and y/n giggled as he peppered kisses along her face.

Our parents may worry But we both know that we're fine They say teenage love don't last but I got hope for you and I

Y/n came home crying after her night out with Steve. They had spent the night with Bucky who had joined the army, and Steve had announced that he had applied to possibly join the army. Steve came to her door, and stepped in but didn’t dare enter the house as y/n’s parents came to see what was going on. Seeing his daughters state, y/n’s father glared at Steve and stalked towards him.

“Dad no.” Y/n stated, glancing at her father. “Y/n..” Steve started to say but y/n put her hand up. “I don’t want to talk to you right now Steve. Please leave.” Y/n stated.

Steve glanced at y/n’s mother who nodded at him to leave before moving to comfort her daughter. Looking at his girlfriends father who still stood with a hard look on his face, Steve sighed and hung his head as he left for the night. Y/n allowed her mother to guide her to the living room, sitting down on the couch before her mother left to the kitchen. Soon there was a warm cup of coco in her hand and her mother sat beside her, rubbing her back as her father sat opposite them, brandishing his brandy.

“I told you he was no good for you.” Y/n’s father started. “y/f/n” Your mother scolded him with a harsh look. “Well he is. Young timid guy like him is no good for her.” “He’s joining the army.” Y/n sniffed, causing her father to get an outburst of laughter. “Maybe it’s best that you guys ended it then, hmm.” Y/n’s mother stated, tucking some hair behind her ear. “End it?” Y/n asked, scrunching her eyes in confusion, “We haven’t ended anything mum.” “Young love doesn’t last love, it’s okay for it to end. There’ll be others.” “I still love him mum, and he loves me. I just , don’t know what I’ll do if he gets in. I worry about him mum.” “Tsk, love. What do you know about love at this age.” Her father commented.Y/n glanced at her father and could only cry more at the remark that she would normally laugh at. Y/n’s mother sighed and wrapped her arms around her daughter, not wanting to listen to her cries.

Why can't we go back to '63? To seat on those old diner seats And you'll make fun of me but I don't mind it When the roads are bare You speed to make me scared But then you'll stop 'Cause you know I'm a good girl at heart

Y/n and Steve sat together opposite Bucky as they chatted about how life had been back home. It had been 2 years since Steve had joined the army and y/n couldn’t of been more proud of him. While at first she had been hesitant about her boyfriend joining the army, she managed to oversee her worries, and despite nothing but fear being present when Steve told her that he was going to take part in a new super soldier serum experiment with Mister Stark, her fears became nothing but bubbles that evaporated in the air. Steve had grown great success from his time in the army. Besides, she wouldn’t lie that the serum lead to certain eye excitement.

“So what have you been up to y/n? Any fellas we need to watch out for?” Bucky winked at y/n as Steve shifted in his seat, his arm around her shoulders tightening. “Now Bucky you know I only have eyes on one man, even if I rarely see him.” Y/n joked back, placing a hand on Steves thigh. Steve looked down at y/n with a smile and kissed her cheek . “But to answer your question, nothing much. Still working away, nothing special.” Y/n shook her head, leaning it on her lovers shoulder. “Little bookwork here, never away from them.” Bucky joked causing Steve to laugh. “Well at least the worst thing she could get is a papercut.” Steve joked back and y/n fake laughed at the soldiers humour. “Very funny guys.” Y/n smiled, allowing a yawn to slip out. “Someone’s getting tired.” Steve stated, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “No I’m not.” y/ denied, not wanting the night to end. “Why don’t we call it a night. We’ve early call tomorrow anyway.” Steve stated, looking at Bucky to avoid seeing y/ns look at sadness.

Bucky smiled back at y/n softly before reaching over and squeezing her arm as the group of three stood up from their booth. Y/n and Steve greeted Bucky goodnight before leaving in different directions. Steve still drove his fathers car, not wanting to spend money on something he would rarely be driving. Y/n often kidded with  him calling hi a cheap skate, but Steve also knew that he would need his money for other things, particularly something for a certain someone.

Driving back to y/n’s , Steve looked over at his girl wit ha childish grin on his face. Knowing what was about to happen, y/n gripped her chair as Steve began to press his foot onto the gas pedal. The road way to y/n’s was straight and quiet, and Steve had gotten into the habit of racing down it, knowing how y/n would react. As usual, y/n pressed herself into her seat before gripping Steve’s arm, a signal that she had enough. A small part of y/n loved his antics since he would never push it too far, but the adrenaline was enough to make her body grow with fright. And as they reached y/n’s house, Steve would move towards his girls car door, and open if for her. In return, y/n would give him a brief kiss before pecking his check and running to her door, waving Steve off as he drove down the road.

It's when you pull me close Scrunch your nose Whisper in my ear Nice and slow

Steve had collected y/n from work and was now heading towards her home. Y/n could tell he was nervous, but refused to ask as she knew it was most likely to do with the mission he was starting this evening. Every mission regarding flying left him uneasy, as he knew the risks that came with it. So did y/n, but she refused to acknowledge them, for being a soldiers girlfriend had risks. If they were married than she could live on army grounds, but neither of them were in a rush, being only 22 to them meant they had years.

Goodbyes before a mission were always emotional. Y/n could never stop the tears that fell, and Steve was always left with a sinking feeling in his chest, knowing he was going to be away from his love for a while. The two had a strong relationship so he knew she would never stray, but leaving her was always something that left the two of them in a bubble of loneliness. So stepping out of the car, Steve patted his pocket before walking over to y/n’s side, opening the door for her.

“How are you gone this time?” Y/n asked as he helped her out, allowing him to wrap his arms around her waist. “A week, I’ll be back before you know it.” Steve stated, pecking her nose, causing her to smile a little. “But I have something for you.” “For me?” She asked, watching in confusion as he stepped back slightly with nerves visible.

Steve hands shook slightly as he dug into his pockets, grabbing the box he had been carrying for the past week while he tried to find the right moment to ask. Eyeing his movement, y/n’s eyes widened when she seen the small box.

“Steve…” Y/n started, knowing it was something expensive. “Y/n, please let me talk before I stop myself, again.” Steve spoke with a slight laugh. “Sorry.” Y/n giggled. “Y/n y/l/n, these past few years with you have been nothing short of amazing. I have enjoyed every moment with you. I won’t drag this on in fear of choking up so I will just say it. Y/n my life will not be complete without you, would you do me the honour, of becoming my wife.” Steve asked, opening the box in front of him. “You know your supposed to get down on one knee.” y/N JOKED to try stop the tears, and Steve looked down before starting to move. “No, no Steve, it’s okay.” Y/n laughed again, grabbing his arms to prevent him from moving. “Of course I’ll marry you.”

Steve couldn’t help the grin that came to him as y/n threw her arms around him, hugging him as the tears of happiness fell down her cheeks. Kissing her head, Steve pulled back and laughed, taking y/n’s hand before sliding the ring on her finger. Y/n looked at it in awe before looking at Steve. Bringing her hand behind his head, she pulled him into a kiss, and Steve melted into her, bringing her towards him.

“I love you Steve Rogers.” Y/n stated, bringing her hand through his hair. “I love you too, so much.” Steve smiled, kissing her cheek and burying his head in her shoulder.

'Cause you're my 1960s, baby Promise me, you'll never leave my side Stay with me forever 'Cause I can't live without you tonight

Y/n sat at the dinner table admiring her ring. Her mum was telling her the story of how Steve had asked her father for her hand in marriage, and it was a funny story to say the least. It nearly with Steve having bruises and her father having a sore hand had her mother not walked in. But her mother knew Steve made her daughter happy and that was all that mattered to her.

"I think a small wedding would be best. Have family we love and friends we care about. No need to over complicate things." Y/n said to her mum as she finished making the dinner. "I couldn't agree more." Her mother replied, straining the water from the veg. "Or maybe even just Y/n stopped talking as she heard a knock on the door. “Get that love will you?” y/n’s mother asked her daughter as she placed plates on the table.

Y/n sighed but got up, moving towards the door. She scrunched her eyes as she opened it, seeing a woman dressed in military style suit and a man in a suit beside her.

“Hello?” She asked, eyeing the two in front of her. “Hi, y/n l/n?” The woman spoke. “Yes?” “I’m Peggy Carter, this is Mr Stark. We work with Steve within the army. I’m afraid we have some bad news.” “No.” Y/n begged, her mind turning to the worst. “Unfortunately Steve Rogers aircraft took a hit, we lost contact with him about 3 hrs ago.” Mr Stark spoke, clearing his throat. “Steve has been lost on mission. He died during impact.” Peggy stated, watching as the woman in front of her froze in shock. “No, please no.” Y/n begged, her legs growing weak. “He asked me to tell you that he loved you, and he’s sorry that he couldn’t be your forever.” Peggy spoke, placing a hand on y/n’s shoulder.

Time stopped as y/n could only scream as she feel to the floor. Hearing her daughters cries, y/n’s mother came to the door to see what the commotion was about. Seeing her daughter on the ground she took one look at the man and woman at her door before putting the pieces together. She heard a car pull up as she bent down to comfort her daughter.

Mr l/n looked at his front door in confusion as he got out of his car. He could only see the back of the two guests as he walked up, but as they turned to look at him he seen his wife comforting their inconsolable daughter. He greeted the two with a nod before they turned back to the two women.

“Again, I am so sorry.” Peggy stated, before the two left. “He’s gone, he’s gone.” Y/n cried out, gripping her mothers arm as she weeped.

Her mother could only shush her as her father watched on.

You're my 1960s, baby Never leave my side Stay with me forever 'Til we die

Y/n smiled as she felt arms wrap around her waist, Steve coming into the mirrors picture as she hummed, leaning her  body back to rest against his chest. The two never spoke about how y/n had come to be in this generation, but that never mattered to Steve. Steve never knew fully what had had happened to y/n, and y/n didn’t see a reason to tell him. All he knew was that y/n’s family had witches in the past, and somehow it had remained dormant for many years before y/n was born. But none of that mattered to them, all they cared about was that they had found each other, and now they could spend forever, just as they had promised.

“Hey you.” Steve smiled, nuzzling into y/n’s neck. “Hey.” Y/n breathed, giggling as Steve pecked her collar. “I was wondering where you got to.” Steve said, looking at her through the mirror. “Just came for a quiet moment, remembering everything.” Y/n sighed, looking down as she started playing with Steve’s hands. “Y/n, love.” Steve sighed, he always hated the thought of the pain y/n could have had after Peggy came with the news of his loss. “Hey, it’s okay. I wouldn’t change a thing when I got you back in the end.” Y/n comforted him, placing a hand on his check as she looked at him through the mirror.

Y/n sighed in content as he melted under y/n’s touch. There was always something about y/n that made him feel at ease. Every mission forgotten once they were in each other’s arms. The worry of  each other’s lives left in the back of their minds. Y/n could only smile as she moved her head to kiss his cheek, and Steve shifted his head to catch her lips.

“They’re waiting on us for the first dance.” Steve spoke, deciding to part their heated kiss. “We’ve waited nearly 100 years for it, they can wait a little longer.” Y/n joked as Steve spinned her around to face him fully. “Yes well, I think Tony is lacking patience.” Steve joked, and y/n giggled, knowing how impatient their friend was. “Well than let’s not keep them waiting any longer, my husband.” Y/n stated, grinning at the new title. “My wife.” Steve joked back, offering his elbow as he moved away from her.

They say young love never lasts But we'll prove 'em wrong tonight 'Cause you're my 1960s, baby Tonight

Their first dance song was one that y/n had fallen in love with when she first heard it. It told their story perfectly, even if very few knew it. Their young love lasted beyond many years, far more than people expect. Y/n couldn’t get rid of the smile on her face as Steve led her across the dance floor. Her eyes caught an old woman who sat in a wheelchair in the corner. The woman who had once told y/n that her love was taken from her now sat watching them get married. It became a full circle, and y/n couldn’t be happier.

“Your my 1960’s baby, tonight.” Steve murmered under his breath as he twirled y/n one more time before dipping her. “I love you Rogers.” Y/n spoke, running a hand through his hair. “I love you too, Rogers.” Steve grinned as he brought her back up, pulling her in for a kiss.

Sweetheart I love you

Info:  Devastation follows the Shelby family everywhere, but Tommy always had his daughter. That was until Grace came into the picture.

Relationship: Tommy Shelby x daughter reader

Sweetheart I Love You

Tommy Shelby was a man of many things, but one thing he wasn’t was someone people would call kind. Coming home from the war changed people, but the one thing it didn’t change was the way the Shelby man was towards his daughter. Before the war Tommy had had an affair with a woman, and the encounter had led to a little girl to be born and left on the Shelby doorstep. At first Aunt Pol had been furious with her nephew, but one she saw the way Tommy was with the baby girl, she instantly melted. Heartbreak was evident in the father daughter duo when the time came for all men to be called to the war, and the last memory Tommy had of his daughter was the five year old screaming in her aunt Ada’s arms, arms outstretched for her father to come back to her. Her little head didn’t understand why her father was leaving her, but hearing the words ‘I’ll be back as soon as I can’ meant to her that her father wouldn’t be coming back.

When the Shelby boys returned, y/n was nearing the age of ten, and her memories were shallow of who Tommy was. While Tommy expected y/n to run into his arms, she had thrown him off when she grabbed hold of Pol’s hand, refusing to leave the older woman’s side. Pol chuckled at the young girl's antics, and pushed her towards her father, leaving the joke of ‘you’re his problem now’ to cause the girl to shyly giggle, finger hooking the inside of her cheek as she looked into her father’s blue eyes.

“Hey love, remember me?” Tommy gave her a slight smile. The slight smile caused y/n to grin back at him. “Daddy.” The girl squealed, jumping into her father’s arms. “Hey sweetheart.” Tommy breathed, cupping the back of her head before linking the other under her legs to lift her up. “She’s so light.” Tommy muttered with slight worry as he kissed the side of her head. “Perfectly healthy for a ten year old Tommy, you needn’t worry.” Polly reassured him with a slight smile, watching the reunion.

Letting the young girl down, Tommy extended out his hand to y/n’s and he smiled at the feeling of the little hand in his as they began their walk home, y/n excitedly telling him of her school and how she had been getting on.

---

The years that followed the war were spent with Tommy working hard to provide for his little girl. Y/n got everything she needed as she grew up, and Tommy made sure she got the best. Each afternoon y/n would come home from school and sit in her father’s office in the betting room with her father, her on one side doing homework while he’d be on the other going through the paperwork. She’d enter the office on a daily basis and pull Tommy away from his work with a kiss to the cheek before sitting on the extra chair left for her, having a small chat with the man before starting on her homework.  Y/n was his life, and he would often bring her to the pub with him and her uncles, until a certain bar maid came.

“You know you shouldn’t really bring her in here.” A blonde woman stated to your father as she gave him his whiskey. “Ain’t doing no harm, are ya love.” Tommy spoke, looking down at his daughter fondly. “Nope.” The 14 year old popped her lips together. “I meant for her, she shouldn’t be around drunks.” “What’s your name?” Y/n watched as her father’s eyes narrowed at the barmaid in front of them. “Grace.” The woman spoke confidently. “Well Grace, here’s a thing you should know. Y/n here is my daughter, and if she asks me to leave, we’ll leave. Until then, don’t judge the way I parent my daughter, alright.” Tommy spoke to the woman harshly, leaning on the bar to move closer to the woman. “Yes sir.” The woman gulped slightly at the dark look on the Shelbys face, and she watched as it softened when he felt his daughter's hand in his. “Come on dad, I want to talk to uncle Arthur about the horses.” y/n tugged on her father’s arm. “Go on love, I’ll be in shortly.” Tommy nodded his head for y/n to leave to the back room where the Shelby’s usually sat.

“She’s a lovely girl.” Grace nodded to the back of the girl's head as Tommy watched her till the door closed behind her. “Yea.” Tommy breathed before clearing his throat. “Give me another one of these and some pop for herself.” Tommy ordered as he downed the whiskey she had given him. “On the house.” Grace stated as she slid the drinks over. “Thank you kindly.” Tommy nodded at her before leaving to where his daughter was chatting with John and Arthur, her back slouched against the older uncle.

---------

Y/n could only watch as her father and Grace became unusually close. She wasn’t used to her father giving a woman attention, he had stopped that shortly after he returned from the war, after y/n walked in on him having an ‘encounter’ with a woman. She had run out of the room crying to Arthur, who was more than happy to play protector for his niece while she refused to talk to her father. It was days before Tommy won her over again, and was annoyed that all it took was buying her a new teddy and allowing her to come with them to the pub.

There was something about Grace that y/n didn’t like, but she wasn’t sure what. The feelings that Grace had for her father were evident, and y/n couldn’t help but feel that despite her fathers emotionless expressions, it was clear that there were some feelings for Grace. These feelings became more evident after she brought him to hers to get away from those who were looking for them.

It wasn’t long till Tommy had sat his daughter down to tell her the news of his engagement with the blonde woman. Being unsure of the woman y/n had her doubts, but Tommy had shot them down straight away.

“Not you too y/n.” Thomas groaned, throwing his head back lightly. “I’m sorry daddy, there’s just something about her I don’t trust, especially since the time she outed us.” Y/n stated, standing from her seat. “We’ve all outed each other at some point.” “I haven’t.” Y/n muttered, crossing her arms as her father gave her a harsh look. “Y/n please, I love her and..” “More than you love me?” Y/n asked, eyes widening at the words coming out of her father’s mouth. “How could I, you're my angel disguised as a devilish child.” Tommy smiled, placing a hand under her chin. “When do you marry?” “After the birth.” “Birth?” Y/n asked, confused on how Grace could be with child outside marriage. “Yes y/n, you're going to be a big sister.” Tommy stated, pouring himself a whiskey. “How does a woman come to be with child outside marriage?” Y/n squinted at her father who almost choked on his whiskey. “I think it’s time for you to get ready for bed.” The father stated to his daughter, trying to get away from the topic. “But I would like to know so I don’t wind up with child.” Y/n whined. “Trust me, you won’t be able to do that for a long time.” Tommy breathed, placing a hand on his daughter's back to guide her to her room.

------

The wedding was anything but small, with the guests coordinating mostly Grace’s side of the family. Y/n was left with the job of looking after her baby brother Charlie, much to the annoyance of Grace, who kept watching the girl with her son with a glare. Y/n couldn’t help but feel unwanted at the wedding so she stayed to the side, blending in with the crowd. The only interaction she had was with Arthur and Linda throughout the night. Tommy spent the day beside his new wife, and only came to her once to tell her to put Charlie to bed for the night. Y/n couldn’t help the panging feeling in her chest, seeing her father with his new family, the three of them at peace.

The following few days were spent with y/n heading to school. On her last day her father had promised he’d be there to see her graduate, but all she saw was Polly and Ada. The father daughter duo were meant to go out for y/n’s first drink at the pub, but when she returned home and went to Tommy’s office, they only had the chance to say hello before Grace turned up, claiming that Charlie was looking for his father with only a glare being sent her way before the couple left. Y/n winded up calling Arthur who gladly took her out to the garriston with John. Arthur was beginning to become more a father to her than her own, and that made y/n sad. She winded up staying with her uncles that night, with Linda tucking her in for the night with a kiss on the head.

When she returned home, she was greeted with a slap across the face and she gasped, holding her cheek as she looked up. Grace stood in front of her with a sharp look, Tommy close behind her.

“How dare you not come home last night. You had Tommy worried sick.” Grace shouted at her. “What the fuck.” Y/n cursed at her stepmother. “Y/n.” Tommy scolded his daughter, giving her a hard look that made y/n shrink back. Tommy never gave her anything but kind eyes. “I was at Arthurs for the night after going out for a few drinks. You know, the ones dad was meant to bring me on.” Y/n stated, glaring at Grace before turning her attention to her father. “Tommy was with Charlie last night, he was restless looking for his father.” Grace stated. “Yeah, and I graduated school and was looking forward to having my first drinks with my dad but instead he ditched me for his second family.” Y/n spoke out, throwing an arm out for dramatics. “How dare you. We are more family to him than you are. After all, you're just a bastard that was born outside of marriage.” "Grace." Tommy sighed, seeing her daughter's eyes tear up. "Well she is." "Technically your son was one too Grace, don't forget that." Y/n spoke through gritted teeth. "Doesn't change the fact that Tommy took you in out of pity."  "Grace." Tommy shouted, only to be cut short when y/n bolted up the stairs. "Y/n"

TOmmy called after his daughter as he followed her up the stairs. He stalled when he heard Charlie cry out for him as he passed the boy's door. Hearing the cry, y/n turned back to look at her father as he looked between his son and daughter. Her vision turned to Grace as she came up the steps.

"I swear if you choose them instead of me again, I am out of here." Y/n warned, and she watched as Tommy's eyes softened. "Y/n...." "Tommy, can you ask someone to get him a bottle of milk while I go to him?" Grace spoke, placing a hand on his back as she moved past him. "I had a feeling." Y/n muttered as Tommy moved back to the stairs.

Not sparing another thought y/n made her way into her room and quickly packed a bag before heading out. She took one look at Tommy as she left, and he went to call her only to hear his son cry.

----

The following weeks y/n stayed at her uncle Arthur's place, away from Tommy. She had wound up at his door without a jacket, and Arhur was shocked to see the young girl shivering on her own. After hearing the story he was livid, and had wound up at Tommy's door, shouting at him, ignoring as Grace pleaded with him to stop.

Tommy had become out of character after his daughter left their home. He spent most of his time in his office when he was home, and even that was rare. Majority of his days were done on business, where Arthur would give him the cold shoulder when they were out of sight. He stopped running to Charlie's side each night during the cries, and would often find himself falling asleep on his desk, not turning up to bed with Grace. Grace had grown fed up with her husband's attitude and decided to organize a party. Wanting the best for his wife, Tommy agreed, on the  condition that y/n would come.

It was Arthur who told y/n of the extravagant party Grace was organizing. She wasn't surprised of the news but she was shocked when Linda handed her an invite that was quite obviously her fathers writing. She remembered looking at her father and him nodding at her, convincing  her that going would make her higher than him, even if he wasn't attempting to interact with her.

Tommy looked forward to that day, when he would see his daughter again. His attempts to see her had always been in vain, as she wasn't at Arthurs when he was, and he wasn't sure where she went during the day. His thoughts were broken as the barman told him someone was on the phone for him.

"Tommy, you got to come." Arthur's voice came over quickly. "Arthur?" Tommy asked, not understanding what he was saying. "It's y/n Tommy. She's been hurted, badly." "Where.?"

----------

Y/n had been walking back from her new job as a secretary in the doctors office. It took some convincing to get the job, with the Shelby name hanging over her. They told her she could have it so long as no Shelby came near the place, they weren't wanted unless they needed health care. Her hours were generally 9-5, so she always got out when the sun began to set. The roads were always busy on her way home, which was how she never heard her attacker until they grabbed her from behind.

She didn't remember much, but she did remember the sound of a gun, and multiple screams around her. The next she was on the ground, holding her side as she gasped for pain. It was evident that something had happened based on the sering pain she felt, but she was afraid to look. Her vision was clouded as she seen a figure coming towards her, caressing her cheek gently.

"Y/n love, look at me. Stay awake okay." Arthurs voice travelled to her ears, and she tried to speak.

"Arthur." She spoke softly, Arthur wouldn't of heard it bar he was paying attention to her. "Sh, don't speak. Somebody get a fucking doctor." He screamed the last part, hoping someone would help them.

The last she felt was two sets of hands moving her before blackness surrounded her.

The next time she woke up, she recognized her surroundings to be A room in the doctors office. The smell of cleaning supplies were evident and the feeling of rough sheets was present on her skin. The throbbing of pain was felt on her side, and she moved to look down before a hand was felt stopping her. The rough hand grabbed her arm and she followed it to the person who sat beside her, recognizing them as her uncle.

“Hey.” She spoke weakly, her voice scratchy. “Hey love, how you feeling?” Arthur spoke softly, rubbing her arm in comfort. “Sore, really sore.” She groaned, trying to move and get comfy. “No need to strain, I’ll go get the doctor.” Arthur comforted his niece, moving to get up. “No, stay please.” Y/n begged, quick to grab Arthurs arm. “Your in pain, he can help you.” “I don’t want to be alone.” She spoke groggily. “Well you pick a bad place to work if you don’t like it here.” Arthur joked, causing y/n to smile weakly. “Where’s dad?” Y/n asked, licking her lips. “Called the Garriston and told him, he didn’t say nothing when I told him.” Arthur explained ,and y/n looked down. “Maybe get the doctor Arthur, I can’t sleep with the pain.” Y/n requested and Arthur smiled sadly at his niece. “I’ll be right back love.” He kissed her head before leaving.

Y/n kept her vision low, even when the doctor came by to check her over. She felt lonely, even with her uncle there. All she wanted was her dad, and he hadn’t turned up when she needed him most. His little girl was in hospital after an accident that was no doubt caused by him. It didn’t take a genius to figure out why the men had came to her, and attacked her out of everyone present. If it wasn’t for Arthur being there, she would probably be dead.

“Why were you here?” Y/n asked her uncle when the doctor left. “Finn heard some block talking about taking down the Shelby girl, doesn’t take much to know who.” Arthur explained, taking y/n’s hand in his. “Oh.” Y/n stated, before turning as the door was heard opening.

Tommy rushed through the streets towards her daughters work place after the call from his brother. The nurse and doctor gave him a glare when he barged through the front door, but he didn’t care to ask them where his daughter was as he opened all the doors. His breathing was ragged as he found the correct one, and he stopped to take a look at his daughter. Y/n was there, lying in bed, with Arthur by her side as their attention turned to the open door. Y/n could only look at Tommy as he took in her appearance.

“Y/n, my sweet girl.” Tommy breathed, rushing to the opposite side of the bed to take her face in his hands. “Daddy?” Y/n asked, moving away from his touch. “Are you hurt?” “No, she’s lying in bed for no reason.” Arthur spoke roughly, causing y/n to look down. “ A shot to the side. Fainted with the shock. Just the pain really.” Y/n explained, shrugging her shoulders. “Y/n love, look at me?” Tommy asked. “You can go back to your new family now that you know that I’m okay.” “Arthur, give us a minute yea.” Tommy stated to her brother, who looked at his niece before leaving after getting a nod.

“Y/n love, I am so sorry for what Grace said to you. She had no right to. And you should know that in no scenario is that true.” Tommy spoke softly, crouching down to be eye level with y/n. “You didn’t stop her.” Y/n stated. “She’s my wife…” “And I’m your daughter.” Y/n spoke sharply, glaring at her father. “I know you are y/n, and I love you so much but the thing is with marriage, you have to..” “Don’t.. Your marriage is not one to idolize. Allowing your wife to speak so poorly to your daughter is not something to be proud of.”  Y/n stated, shaking her head. “Please forgive me y/n, okay I know I made mistakes. But I’m your father…” “Arthur has been more of a father to me than you lately. He protected me when I needed him to, you didn’t.” Y/n spoke sharply, hitting a nerve for Tommy. “Y/n please, let me make this right.” Tommy begged, placing a hand under y/n’s chin,  wanting his daughter to give him a chance. “I want to, but how do I know that Grace will separate us again.” “I won’t let her okay. I…. I will talk to her alright, make her know that you are just as much family as she and Charlie are. Sweetheart I love you okay, I will do anything to have you back home with me.” “I really want to believe you.” Y/n spoke, looking her father in the eye. “Than do, let’s get you home and we can have our time back. Tonight, you and I by the fire, talking about our day, just like old times. “I think I’m going to stay with Arthur for tonight dad.” Y/n looked down at her hands, playing with her hands a little. “Y/n..” “I can call by tomorrow and we can do something.” Y/n suggested, and her father looked down. “Sure, whatever you want.” Tommy stated, nodding his head as smacked his lips together.

Y/n smiled as Tommy looked back up at her. Seeing the tears in his daughters eyes Tommy moved to bring her into a hug, cupping the back of her head as he kissed her forehead.

“I love you Sweetheart.” He mumbled in her ear. “I love you too dad.” Y/n breathed, relaxing into his touch.

Scared for my life 1/2

Info: With a rocky relationship with one brother and living with another, y/n Halstead always thought her life would be safe and secure. But thoughts never turn out to be true when you become involved in your brothers case.

Masterlist

Scared For My Life 1/2

17 year old Y/n Halstead, was the younger and only sister of Will and Jay and lived with Jay. She never lived with her father after her mom died as he turned to alcohol and her brothers thought it would of been best if she lived with one of them. With Jay being in the army Will took on the responsibility, but he was never really present in her life. Most nights he would leave her with a babysitter and leave for parties and come home late with girls. When Jay returned from the army and heard about Wills antics, he applied for guardianship of his sister and took her back to Chicago, not speaking to Will for months after. Will and y/n's relationship had been rocky since than, but she still came to visit him during his lunch breaks so he could be in her life, though most of the time she spent her time talking to Maggie or April about nursing, wanting to take that career path herself.

Y/n had always been aware of Jays career choice as a detective after leaving the Army, but she was never told the real dangers of being a detective till she was 12. She hated the way her brother was so willing to throw himself into danger, but to her being a detective in Chicago was a hell lot better than being a part of the army. She had always felt guilty after Jay took her in, believing that it was her fault he left the army even though he constantly told her it wasn't her fault. Jay had always been open to his sister about his PTSD, and made sure she knew what to do in case of an emergency, but she never had to worry after her brother had began dating Hailey.

Hailey, and intelligence, watched out for her as if she was their sister. Y/n always had someone there for her if she needed any help, and they all made sure she never came too close to a case, but no one ever expected her to become involved in a case.

----------------------------------------

Y/n yawned as she walked into the hospital, turning around to wave at Jay and Hailey who pulled off after she got into the building. She sighed and headed into the emergency area, looking around awkwardly as she did so. Will smiled at her as she walked in and y/n nodded in acknowledgement before smiling at April who passed by, squeezing the younger girls shoulder as they crossed paths. Will rubbed his younger sisters back as she reached him and they both made their way towards the staff room, the older of the sibling duo opening the door. Y/n walked in first, opting to lie on the couch. Will chuckled slightly before heading towards his locker to grab his lunch, handing a smaller lunch box to y/n before sitting down on the table. Y/n smiles in thanks as she accepted the lunch box, opening it to see her favourite fruit and bar along with a cheese and coleslaw sandwich.

"So, what have you been doing with yourself." Will asked, knowing y/n had finished school and was now on summer break. "Nothing much. Was looking at colleges for next year. Need observation period in a hospital setting. It's not compulsory but would benefit my application to put on experience." Y/n stated, taking a bite from her sandwich. "Well I'm sure Maggie or April will let you watch them for a few days. Of course we'd have to go by Ms. Goodwin." Will smiled ,liking the idea of y/n being around more. "Do you reckon?" /n asked, smiling at the idea. "Yeah. I'll talk to them and Ms. Goodwin see what I can do." "Thanks Will." Y/ns smile widened, throwing her arms around Will in a hug, something the red haired rarely got from her. "Your welcome. And if you like you could stay with me when your in same days as me." Will smiled, accepting the hug. "Yeah Maybe." Y/n stated, smile fading slightly as she sat back down.

The two sat in silence and Will sighed, knowing y/n was still unsure of staying in his apartment. They had tried many times but it always ended in Jay being called to pick her back up. He knew y/n remembered how he often left her with someone else so he could go out most nights. He remembered Jay arriving with the guardianship forms, and him begging Jay not to take her out of his life. It took awhile for the brothers to be on speaking terms again, and the only contact Will had with his sister was pictures Jay sent.

When Will came back to Chicago there was mixed reactions. Jay still held a grudge against Will fro his antics back in New York, and y/n refused to be alone with him for weeks. It took awhile for Will to earn y/n's trust again, and he was still working on it. Will missed the relationship he used to have with his sister, and he craved for the relationship y/n had with Jay. So Will thought maybe working in the same building all day would help build that relationship back up.

Jay sat at the desk finishing up some paperwork from a case, but his attention was drawn to Voight as the one in charge walked out of his office into the center of the room. Everyone looked up, thinking it was a case, but that thought was quickly left when they could see the look of worry in their bosses eyes. Jay frowned in confusion as Voight looks straight at him, and he turns to look at Hailey before Voight cleared his throat.

"Alright everyone, got word from the commissioner, Jackson's out." The room went quiet as Voight kept his vision on Jay to see his reaction. "I thought he was in for life." Adam stated, confused on the news. "Good behavior." Voight shrugged, not liking the situation.

Jay and Jackson had a past. Jay had been the one to arrest Jackson after chasing him for months after the latter being wanted for molesting women and kidnapping. After nearly arresting the guy the first time, Jay had become a pawn in Jacksons game. Jackson had found out about Jays sister and decided to follow her around, and that was how Jay caught him, near y/n's school when she was just 8. Jay remembered feeling sick when Jackson spoke about his sister, and it took both Adam and Kevin to hold him back from punching the guy during interrogation, all the while the culprit having a smirk on his face.

When Jackson got convicted for 12 years, Jay was there watching for the outcome. And when he was been taken away the prisoner looked at his catcher and swore to him that when he got out he would get him back with someone special, one who Jay knew would most likely be y/n.

"Good behavior, he traumatized his victims, he stalked my sister." Jay spoke quickly, and Hailey moved to comfort her husband. "Jay calm down." Hailey said, seeing her husbands anger clear as day. "No, no, he told me the day he went down he would get me back. He deserves to rot in that cell." Jay spoke angrily, pointing in front of him in anger. "I'm sure he wouldn't remember that encounter." Kim stated, trying to diffuse the situation at hand. "Call y/n and put your mind at ease." Hailey stated, seeing Jays tense figure. "Yeah sure." Jay sighed before leaving to the locker room.

"No one tell Jay." Voight said, leaning his hands on a table in front of him. "Tell Jay what?" Kevin asked. "Commissioner told me Jacksons out, but he also told me that Jay could be on his radar. There has been word in the prison but until confirmed don't say anything." Voight stated, watching his team nod in agreement. "This isn't good." Hailey muttered before Jay came back into the room.

----------------------------------------------------

Y/n was currently leaving the hospital. Will watched from the door as his sister walked down to the bus stop that was close by. Will liked to watch and make sure y/n got on the bus safely before returning to his shift. The bus y/n got on stopped just outside Jays apartment building and then she only had to walk across the road and up the stairs. Y/n looked down at her hone as she heard it ring.

"Hey Jay, what's up." y/n smiled, answering her brothers call. "Hey, just checking in on you, seeing where you are, what your doing?" Jay smiled, happy to hear y/n's voice. " Just leaving the hospital now, waiting on the bus." Y/n replied, looking at her watch as she stopped at the bus stop. "Is Will with you?" "I'm more than capable to wait on a bus myself. But I'd say he, yes he is, watching me from the hospital doors." Y/n turned to look back at the hospital to see Will leaning against the wall talking to Ethan, his eyes falling towards y/n occasionally. "Is anyone around?" Jay asked, concerned that Jackson may be around. "No not really, I'm the only one waiting on the bus, which is coming right now. I'm gonna go, talk later." Y/n spoke, seeing the bus and standing up. "Text me when home okay." Jay asked. "I always do." Y/n smiled teasingly before hanging up.

Y/n stepped onto the bus and smiled at the bus driver as she paid the fare before moving to the back of the bus. Few people were riding the bus so there were many seats left, so y/n opted to sit on the second last seat, in front of a man who nods at her in acknowledgement. Sighing, y/n placed her headphones on before leaning on the window, looking outside. With her headphones on she doesn't hear anything, and she doesn't see the man behind her getting up when it comes near her stop. It wasn't until she moved to stand up only to be pushed down as the man sat beside her that she realized him.

"Excuse me." "Y/n Halstead." The man stated. "I'm sorry, can I get passed you please." y/n asked, fear present in her voice. "Stay there and don't make a scene. I told your brother I 'd get back at him and your the way to do it." The man spoke as he wrapped his arms around her tightly.

The unknown man looked at y/n and her blood ran cold, afraid of what was going to happen next.

For Those Who Can't be Here

Info: Y/n spends her first Christmas without her father, but she tries to remember the good times while making new traditions without her.

Relationship: Halstead sister

Warnings: grief, loss parent

Pat Halstead wasn’t father of the year, but to y/n he was at least half decent. He made sure she got some form of a happy childhood, even if she did miss the loss of her mother. Will and Jay were never really around, so it was always the two of them against the world. It hurt her when she heard Jay yelling at their father upon his return, claiming that he was an unfit parent for the youngest Halstead. Sure Pat had his over fill of beer, but he never threw anything but love towards his only daughter.

Christmas was the father daughter duos favourite time together. They would always spend the first weekend of the month decorating the house, Pat even stayed sober for the day, which was a bonus to y/n. Jay was surprised with how much effort the Halstead father put into making the festive time enjoyable for y/n. Will and Jay had grown up when their mother died, but even when she was alive Pat wasn’t one to celebrate anything.

Now, with her father gone, y/n was finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit. The traditions they held from baking gingerbread men, to sitting on her fathers shoulders to put the star onto the tree even though she was way past the age of light. The nearly 18 year old found herself at a loss, wanting to celebrate but also not wanting to accept that she would be doing it without her father and best friend. Will and Jay tried to help, both not grieving their father as much as their sister at this time, but when they turned up with a Christmas tree at the door, the waterfall of tears began.

We put the lights up on the tree And all the presents underneath Light the fire, it's getting cold Another year of "Will it snow?" Mixing lager and champagne Somethin' I'll never do again Round the table banter flows Praying no one rocks the boat

Y/n stared at her brothers as they placed the real tree up into the living room, both brothers watching their sister with caution. Both of them knew that the youngest of the three siblings would always go tree hunting with their father on the first Saturday of December before bringing it home and stringing it with lights and baubles. But now without her father, y/n felt no desire to help cut the wire that was currently holding the tree compact, nor did she usually do her usual cheer when the branches sprung out.

“Hey y/n, you wanna help?” Jay asked, grabbing the scissors from the bits and bobs drawer under the TV. “Why would I do that?” Y/n mumbled, slouching in on herself as she tried to avoid her brothers gaze. “Come on y/n, you and dad used to always do this.” Will spoke, and Jay glared at him abruptly. “Yea, me and dad, I don’t see him anywhere, do you?” Y/n spoke harshly, tears building in her eyes as she narrowed her eyes at her brother. “Y/n, please, dad wouldn’t want you to be like this.” Jay pleaded, trying to help his little sister. “How would you know, you never liked him.” Y/n yelled, bawling her hands into fists at her side. “He never gave us a reason to like him after mom died.” Will muttered, and Jay threw his hand out at him. “Will, shut up.” Jay spoke harshly before moving to his sister. “Come on y/n, you love Christmas. Even if dad’s not here you can still make some memories, in honor of him.” Jay stated, placing a hand on y/n’s shoulders. “I don’t want to do this without him.” Y/n spoke tearfully, collapsing onto the couch gently. “He’s always with you. We can make new traditions if you’d rather.” Jay tried to be helpful, wanting to help his sister somewhat enjoy her favourite holiday.

Y/n looked at her brother with tears falling down her cheeks, and Jay sighed before pulling her into his arms, rocking her gently. Will looked down as he heard his sisters cries, not wanting to overwhelm her. She was always the type who wouldn’t take too much comfort, one person was enough, so him joining would distraught her. Hearing her snuffling, Will looked up to see y/n looking at where he was standing, the tree beside him.

“Can we make some baubles this year, maybe a few in honor of dad?” Y/n asked, trying to think positive. “I think that’s a great idea.” Jay smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I’ll go get some things for us to use.” Will stated, moving to kiss y/n’s head before leaving the house to head to the shops.

Still I know, this picture's not quite right There's someone on your mind First Christmas time without him by your side, I know The sound of Christmas bells They never say farewell So we laugh, we shed a tear For those who can't be here

Y/n lay on the couch, staring ahead of her as a simple memory came from a decoration she had grabbed from the box. Taking her brothers advice to make new traditions, y/n had tried to decorate the remaining of the house after school was finished. But the deer decoration that she had found produced memories that she couldn’t shake. A shake on her shoulder lead to her jumping out of her thoughts, and a watery smile to appear as she looked up at the brother who shook her.

“Hey, you ok?” Will asked, smiling lightly at his sister. “Yeah, just trying to finish these while I’m interested in it.” Y/n explained, throwing the deer beside her on the couch as she moved her feet for Will to sit beside her. “You know it’s okay to have your mind spiraling, you’ve lost both parents before your eighteen, that’s a lot for someone, regardless of their age.” “You and Jay seem fine.” Y/n mumbled, wiping her sleeve against her cheek. “Jay and I didn’t have the same relationship as you did with dad, but we miss him regardless, don’t think we don’t.” Will spoke softly, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “I don’t want to feel this way, I want to enjoy the holidays but I feel like if I do than I’m forgetting about dad.” Y/n spoke, leaning her head on Will’s shoulder. “You could never forget about dad, he’s someone who’s been in your whole life, that’s not forgettable.” Will smiled softly, squeezing his sister gently. Y/n looked up as she  heard the sound of bells outside the window. “Dad always cursed those bells.” Y/n smiled sadly, sniffling slightly. “Well they are pretty annoying.” Will nodded in agreement with the statement, “Come on, I’ll help you finish this than we can go out for dinner.” Will offered, picking up the abandoned deer and standing up. “Can we stay to watch the Christmas lights turn on in the town?” Y/n asked, having never done it before as her father used to think it was useless when they’d be seen for the month anyway. “Sure, we can do that.” Will smiled lightly, taking y/n’s hand to help her off the couch.

We're drinking sherry just because Confessing all our Christmas love Watch Home Alone for the thousandth time It's the only movie that we all like

Will and y/n had winded up standing at the police district to watch the lights, and Jay had even arrived back from a case to catch them and join. Y/n couldn’t help the smile that spread on her face, and unshed tears built in her eyes as she felt guilt for a brief moment. Guilt that she was enjoying herself even after the loss of her father.

Following the lights, Will brought y/n home and stayed with her for the night. It had become a ritual where the brothers would take turns staying at the house with y/n, as she refused to leave the home she had grew up in, and leave the memories upon the wall. Will set up the sitting room while y/n left to get changed into her pjs’s, wanting to be cozy for  the night.

Setting two mugs of hot chocolate onto the table, Will turned when he heard his sister walking down the creaky steps, smiling softly when he seen her in a red set with reindeers dotted around the fabric He squinted at her in confusion as she walked towards her, acting shy as she came to a stop in front of him.

“What’s up?” Will asked, seeing her rocking on the balls of her feet. “Can we wear matching pajamas tonight while we watch Home alone?” Y/n asked, moving her hands from behind her back to show him the matching pjs's. “We watch home alone so many times, do we really have to.” Will fake groaned, making fun of y/n. “Dad used to always watch it with me, but we never done matching pjs's as I always wanted.” Y/n frowned, looking down at the memories. “I would love to match with you.” Will grinned, taking the material from her hands and slapping them over his shoulder. “You get the film ready and I will be down in a minute I made hot chocolate as well.” Will smiled, ruffling his sisters hair affectionately before moving to his and Jay’s old room to change.

But I know, this picture's not quite right There's someone on my mind First Christmas time without him by our side, I know He loved these Christmas bells 'Cause they never say farewell So we laugh, we shed a tear For those who can't be here

Jay came to the house the night before Christmas, groaning as he stretched his shoulders back, hearing the cracks in his back. Y/n and Will were in the kitchen, prepping the dinner for tomorrow. Y/n refused to get a turkey despite it being a traditional food for Christmas, so the brothers had compromised with a small chicken, draping rashers over it like they would a turkey.

“Hey guys, I feel so overdressed.” Jay commented, seeing the matching pj’s his siblings wore. “I left a pair for you in your guys room.” Y/n spoke, moving away from Will to hug Jay. “Lovely.” Jay spoke, grimacing at the thought of matching pj’s. “Jay.” Will warned. “I’m joking.” Jay told him, wrapping his arms around y/n’s shoulders as she leaned into him. “I think we’re finished here.” Will announced, moving the chicken and ham into the oven so they were ready in the morning. “I’m gonna go to my room before the film starts.” Y/n stated, moving away from her brothers abruptly. “You ok?” Jay asked, frowning as he seen how quick y/n’s attitude changed. “Yeah, just wanna freshen up a bit.” Y/n spoke, moving towards the stairs. “Code for needing a moment alone.” Will mumbled at Jay weakly, and Jay nodded in agreement.

Y/n all but ran up the stairs to get to her room. Sitting on her bed, she allowed herself to take a look around her, smiling sadly as she seen the stocking that hung on her wardrobe. It was tradition that her and dad would fill a stocking for each other, and realisation came to her as she realized that he really wouldn’t be here. The first year they wouldn’t be sharing stockings, and the first year it would just be the three siblings.

Christmas used to be one of the most exciting days for y/n. Even as she grew older, her and Pat would always make the day different to the rest. It was another day of the week, but doing things a little different was what made the day special. Tears built in her eyes, and she allowed them to fall as she tried to remain quiet.

Jay stood outside her door, hearing his sisters infrequent breathing. Unshed tears lay in his eyes as he let her have her moment, thinking of the younger days when Christmas had his mom and dad around. Their mum would always make the day special for them, and their dad always lay around the couch, helping them build whatever it was they got that year. Having both parents gone were hard, but he knew it was harder for y/n. Pat was the only actual parent she had in her life, with her mother dying when she was two.

“Hey y/n, you ready to go down?” Jay asked, knocking on the door but not opening it. “I’ll be down in a minute.” Y/n called out, and Jay smiled sadly as he heard the sniffling she had.

Jay and Will were sitting on either side of the couch when y/n walked down the stairs, a space in the middle waiting for y/n. Smiling softly y/n reached to grab a pretzel from the tray the brothers had made for the movie night. Leaning at the back of the couch, y/n closed her eyes for a moment, trying to allow the festivities to roll over her.

For those who can't be here For those who can't be here (The bells ring out for them) For those who can't be here (The bells ring out for them) For those who can't be here The bells ring out for them For those who can't be here The bells ring out for them For those who can't be here

Christmas morning rolled by quickly, and unlike usual, y/n lay in bed staring at the ceiling. Jay and Will had already gotten up and y/n had heard them walking by her door numerous times, no doubt keeping an eye on her. Tears were falling down her cheeks freely, and she refused to wipe them away.

It was near noon when y/n finally plucked up the courage to get out of bed. While usually she’d get done up for the day, instead she decided to stay in her pj’s, and threw her hair into a top not so it wasn’t in her face. Jay was the one to greet her as she walked the last step, wrapping her into a hug and kissing her cheek.

“I know you don’t want to, but tears are okay today.” Jay talked into her hair, refusing to let her go. “I tried, I really tried.” Y/n mumbled into his chest, feeling him rub his hand along her back. “You don’t have to try anything. Treat it as any other day.”  Jay stated, pulling away from her as Will walked towards them. “The food is ready when you want it.” Will smiled, pulling her into a hug as she clung to him, embedding her face into his shoulder. “Did you make the stuffing?” Y/n asked, causing her brothers to laugh “Just how you like it.” Will stated with a nod.

“Thank you guys.” Y/n thanked the brothers with a smile at the end of the night as they sat on the couch, defeated from the dinner the brothers had made. “You don’t have to thank us.” Will shook his head. “We’re your brothers, it’s what we do.” Jay smiled, throwing an arm behind her lazily. “Happy Christmas dad.” Y/n smiled, looking at a picture of him on the mantelpiece. “I’m sure he’s enjoying the beer and sherry like always.” Jay stated, leaning his head on y/n’s as she lay it on his shoulder.

Christmas always finds me

Info: The younger kids may be the ones who steal Jensen’s attention, but their father can always tell when their sister is having a tough time

Warning: Depression, sadness, loneliness

Relationship: Jensen Ackles x daughter reader

December rolled by quicker than expected. The Ackles house had quickly been dawned with tinsel and decorations, and when school finished, the celebrations were in full swing. Daneel was busy with the youngsters, trying to keep them busy while they waited on their father to come back from filming for the year. Jensen was wrapping up filming this weekend, leaving a whole week before Christmas for the family to prepare and finish traditions.

But while the three youngest Ackles bounded up to the door to greet their father, the oldest stayed behind with their mother. Y/n was now a 17 year old, high school graduate, who was currently studying music and dynamics. She took after her father in the music industry, which meant she had infinite possibilities when it came to her career path. She had always been close with her father, and being only one when her father met Daneel, the woman had become y/n’s mom pretty quickly. Seeing her oldest standing to the side, Daneel wrapped an arm around her waist, leaning her head on y/n’s shoulder.

“Aren’t you going to go see your dad y/n?” Daneel asked. “In a minute. The sooner the kids see him the sooner they get to bed.” Y/n spoke lightly, pointing at the clock that’s arm was near 11pm. “I don’t think they’ll be sleeping much tonight. Not with them going to see Santa tomorrow.” Daneel noted, and y/n groaned inwardly “Do I have to go tomorrow?” “Y/n, you know we always do it as a family.” Daneel scolded her, and y/n sighed. “I don’t really feel like doing it this year.” Y/n spoke. “What you talking about, you love Christmas.” Daneel frowned before the kids came running to them, Jensen in tow.

“Y/n love.” Jensen sighed, pulling his oldest into a tight hug. “Hi Dad.” Y/n sighed, burying her head in his shoulder and they hugged each other tightly. “How are you? I feel we haven’t talked in ages.” Jensen sighed, frowning a little as he felt her squeeze him tightly. “Yea, been busy with music. We’re writing music at the minute which is cool.” Y/n shrugged, looking down as the father daughter duo pulled away. “Well I would love to hear it.” Jensen smiled, proud of his daughter. “Maybe.” Y/n shrugged again, looking down at her siblings as Daneel tried to wound them up to bed. “Hey kids, why don’t we head to bed, leave mum and dad alone.” Y/n spoke out, trying to help Daneel. “I thought you and your father could spend time together.” “That’s okay. I’m tired so I’m gonna hit the bed myself. But maybe tomorrow night, yea?” Y/n asked, looking from her father to her mother.

“Sounds good.” Jensen smiles, ruffling Zep’s hair as y/n pushed JJ to mae her way up, the twings following.

Through the years I've moved a lot Different doors with different locks But somehow Christmas always finds me It's been a while since I wished For roller blades and pixie sticks But somehow Christmas always finds me

Y/n groaned as she flipped over on the bed, trying to avoid the morning light that was threatening the shine through the curtains. Sheets littered her bed, and her guitar was leaning against her locker, her piano set up at the bottom of the bed. Sleep was hard to find these days, so most of her night consumed with her degree. With her new assignment, she was glad her father had set her room to be noise cancelling. She had always loved music, and when babies were around her practice sessions weren’t always perfectly timed, so Jensen had decided to sound proof her room, both for their sanity and hers.

A knock on the door caused her to look up, and she sighed when she seen Jensen pop his head in before the door was pushed open by JJ, who ran to jump onto her older sisters bed. Y/n gasped as the young girl jumped all over her sheets, and she glared at her as she grabbed all the papers, moving them to her locker.

“JJ be careful.” Y/n snapped, causing JJ to look at her. “Mommy told us to come get you up for Santa today.” JJ squealed, before stopping when she seen her sisters glare. “I’m not going.” Y/n stated, and JJ rolled her eyes. “But you have to. We always go.” The young girl stated, pointing her hands at her sister. “I have more important things than Santa JJ.” Y/n snapped again, causing JJ’s eyes to widen. “JJ, go tell mommy y/n and I will be down in a minute.” Jensen spoke, trying to avoid a screaming math between the sisters.

Y/n watched JJ leave with a sigh before moving to sort out the papers that JJ had crumpled from her jumping. Jensen sighed and rubbed his face as he sat down at the edge of the bed, playing a key on the piano before clearing his throat when y/n looked at him from the side of her eye.

“Look, you didn’t have to be so short with your sister.” Jensen started, giving y/n a pointed look when she turned to him. “She crumpled up my sheets.” Y/n stated, still flattening them out. “She was excited, so were you at her age.” “Not any more.” Y/n deadpanned, causing Jensen to sigh and look around. “This part of your song your working on?” Jensen asked, catching sight of some sheets on the keyboard. “Part of it.” Y/n sighed, looking to see what he was looking at. “Can you play it for me?” Jensen asked, loving a chance to listen his daughters talent. “It’s not finished yet, I haven’t even found the right words.” “We all start somewhere.” Jensen implied, placing a hand around y/n’s shoulder, “Please?” He asked again, placing his chin on her shoulder.

Y/n sighed and placed the sheets in her hand on the locker before scooting behind Jensen to get to her keyboard. Jensen watched her with a smile, moving to lean against her pillows as she prepared to play. He watched her fingers move effortlessly as the tune came to life. Closing his eyes, he smiled as he heard her begin to hum to the keys. As she came to a stop, she refused to look at her father, flinching a little as she felt his arms wrap around her from behind.

“That was great love.” Jensen smiled, pecking her cheek gently. “It’s only the start, still have away to go.” Y/n tried to justify. “It’s a great start. Do you need help with the lyrics.” Jensen asked, always wiling to help his kids. “No that’s okay. I know what I want to say, just not sure how.” Y/n shoot him down, and Jensen frowned, knowing she always liked when he helped her with her music. “Alright, well don’t be afraid to ask if you need me.” Jensen offered. “I know dad.” Y/n smiled slightly, trying to ease her fathers worry. “Come on, get ready to go before mum comes up after us.” Jensen spoke, moving off the bed. “Do I really have to go?” Y/n sighed. “Come on, you always enjoy it.” Jensen sighed, placing a hand on y/n’s shoulder. “I don’t feel like it today. Why don’t we go tomorrow?”  Y/ asked, trying to put it off. “You and I both know the kids won’t take too kindly to that. And they certainly won’t be happy if you don’t go. It’s tradition we all go.” Jensen stated, kissing y/n’s head. “I’ll see you down there.”

Y/n sighed as her father closed her bedroom door before moving to start getting ready. Throwing on a Christmas cardigan over a black dress, y/n sighed as she looked herself in the mirror before heading down to where her family were waiting by the Christmas tree. Daneel smiled as she seen her daughter, opting to take a photo of her descending the stairs before moving to get the kids into the car, while Jensen watched their oldest from behind, a frown etched on his face.

When silver bells and silent night And mistletoe's nowhere in sight With no chance of snow falling down Another year older Little harder to believe But somehow Christmas always finds me

Y/n stayed behind her parents and siblings as Jensen held onto the twins to prevent them running too far. JJ skipped in front of the group, singing along to the Christmas tunes that were heard over the speakers through the mall. Hearing the chatter of people around her, all cheerful as they waited to visit Santa, y/n couldn’t help but look down, trying to avoid conversation. Daneel looked back to her oldest daughter and seeing her keeping to herself, she eyes her husband before placing a hand on his arm, taking the twins hands.

“Hey y/n, you okay?” Jensen asked, rubbing his eldest back gently. “Yeah just tired. Didn’t sleep much last night. Guess it was the excitement of going here with the kids.” Y/n stated, trying to avoid confrontation. “Well if you want an early night that’s fine. Can leave films for another night.” Jensen suggested, trying to ease her daughter’s tiredness. “Yea, maybe.” Y/n agreed, shrugging a little before looking down at JJ who was jumping at her excitedly. “We’re next.” JJ stated, trying to take her sisters hand. “Sure are JJ.” Y/n smiled at the girl before moving with her to Santa.

Jensen sighed in slight disappointment as he eyed his oldest daughter help Zepplin and Arrow onto Santa’s lap. JJ positioned herself on the arm of Santas chair while y/n opted to stand to the side, leaning against the back of the chair with her arms crossed. Daneel gave y/n a look causing y/n to sigh before moving to crouch down beside Arrow, taking the young girls hand while wrapping her arm around her shoulders. Once the photo was taken y/n instantly moved away from the kids, allowing them to speak to Santa on their own. Daneel wrapped an arm around her eldest waist, smiling slightly as the girl leaned into her touch.

“What you say we go grab some Nando’s after here?” Daneel asked, looking at y/n with a smile. “Mom, you know I’m trying to cut out fast foods. Being in College you rely on them heavily when you get too lazy to cook.” Y/n joked, and her father eyed her warily. “I’m concerned for your heart love.” Jensen stated, causing y/n to roll her eyes. “I’m kidding dad, I got takeaway max once a week. With mum’s amazing cooking I got away lightly with pre made meals.” Y/n smiled at her parents, causing Daneel to blush slightly. “Well it’s the least I can do for my talented daughter.” Daneel stated, squeezing her slightly. “Yeah, well I think I’m going to drive home after this, work more on my assignments.” Y/n shrugged, wanting to get away from the festivities for a while. “That’s not like you.” Daneel frowned. “Well college changes people.” Y/n shrugged, causing Jensen to narrow his eyes at her. “Why don’t I accompany you home, you can handle the kids on your own right hun?” Jensen asked Daneel, looking down at his wife who eyes her. “I mean yea I guess I could.” Daneel agreed, causing y/n to look at her unconvinced. “Dad it’s fine. Help mum with the kids, the twins especially are gonna be very hyper after that lolly.” Y/n pointed at the big lollypops the elves gave the kids as their visit finished. “No I’ll be fine. You go with your dad, spend some time together.” Daneel suggested to y/n, causing Jensen to smile widely. “It’ll be fun.” Jensen nodded, looking at y/n as she looked down. “I suppose so.” Y/n stated, moving away from her parents as the kids returned.

In traffic jams and shopping malls I lose the magic of it all But somehow Christmas always finds me

Jensen leaned his arm against the passenger window, his head resting on his hand as y/n drove her car back to the house. Sitting in the passenger sit with his daughter driving always brought memories of when he thought her to drive. Daneel refused to do it as it was always lead to screaming matches between the two, so Jensen was given the task to teach her. Beams of lights shone as they passed cars, and Jensen smiled as he remembered what y/n used to describe the stream of cars.

“The lights kind of remind you of the Christmas lights right?” Jensen smiled, knowing y/n would agree. “I guess.” Y/n sighed, keeping her eyes on the road. “Why don’t we put on some Christmas music, going to get caught in some traffic.” Jensen suggested, moving to turn on the Bluetooth. “I think I’d rather the radio to be honest.” Y/n sighed, switching off the music as ‘merry Christmas everyone’ began to play. “You always love listening to Christmas music while we’re in the car. Some karaoke.” Jensen spoke, confused on why she shut it off so quickly. “Not this year dad, I’d rather concentrate on the road.” Y/n blinked, squinting her eyes slightly. “If your too tired to drive I can take over.” Jensen spoke, concerned she wouldn’t be able to concentrate on the road. “No, I’ll be okay. We’re nearly home anyway.” Y/n spoke as she turned off the main road, sighing as they meet traffic. “You were saying.” Jensen smirked slightly, chucking at his daughters frustrations. “Why is it so busy this time of year?” Y/n muttered, slowing down quickly. “You never were one for patience.” Jensen laughed, and y/n rolled her eyes quickly. “I just want to get home to finish my assignment.” Y/n groaned, tapping her fingers in frustration. “Why don’t I help you when we get back. Can make it go by quicker?” Jensen suggested, seeing the stress presenting his daughters body. “No that’s okay” Y/n replied quickly, causing Jensen to turn to her. “That was a quick answer.” Jensen stated. “Everything okay?” “Maybe we should listen to some Christmas songs to pass the time.” Y/n tried to avoid the conversation, and Jensen could tell. “Y/n, you know you can talk to me.” Jensen spoke softly, squeezing the top of y/n’s hand as it lay on the gear stick. “I was thinking, maybe tonight we could watch a movie in my room, sleepover vibes, just like when I was young.” Y/n suggested, trying to get away from feelings. “I think that’s a great idea.” Jensen smiled softly, knowing she would come to him when she needed to. “You sort out the snacks while I work on my assignment.”  Y/n suggested, and Jensen sighed. “Your really dead set on doing your assignment aren’t you.” Jensen stated. “It’s Christmas dad.” Y/n shrugged, slight disappointment in her tone. “Yeah, it’s Christmas.” Jensen agreed, just glad she wanted to spend time with him.

When silver bells and silent night And mistletoe's nowhere in sight With no chance of snow falling down Another year older Little harder to believe But somehow Christmas always finds me

Y/n rubbed her eyes as she attempted to finish writing the last verse of her song. She sniffed slightly as she hummed the tune, reading over the words before nodding in approval. She had opted to write what she was feelings, and with this Christmas season feeling upside down, she opted to write on how she felt with her family still celebrating Christmas. With kids around it meant that she had to at least pretend she was enjoying the festivities, but it was hard. This year brought nothing but stress and struggles for y/n, and with it flying by so fast it just felt like another day to her.

Jensen sang ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ quietly as he prepared the snack tray for his and y/n’s movie night. Daneel had finished getting the kids ready for the night, and was going to have a girls night in with Gen in the living room. It was rare that Jensen got to spend one on one time with his oldest. With three kids significantly younger than her, majority of his time was split between them. During filming, he’d often call her to check on her, with her first year away from home on campus he was determined to make sure she was okay.

Humming happily to himself, he made his way up the stairs, watching his feet on the steps before walking towards y/n’s bedroom door. Knocking slightly, he waited for her to call or open the door, but he frowned when he seen her.

“Hey, you okay?” He asked, seeing her watery eyes. “Yea, just finished my song so, all ready for tonight.” Y/n stated, wiping her eyes. “Was it a sad song or something?” Jensen asked, placing the tray on her bed to face her. “I guess.” Y/n shrugged, and Jensen frowned, “Just wrote how I felt.” “That’s a good way to let go of emotions.” Jensen nodded, “Wanna talk about it?” “Actually, I think I’d rather just watch the film.” Y/n stated, and Jensen smiled. “That’s okay. Once you know you can come to me about anything.” Jensen smiled at his daughter, placing a hand on her shoulder. “I know dad.” Y/n smiled, moving in for a hug, “Now, what treats did you bring?” “Well I tried to make it a little festive, so majority are either shaped Christmassy or green and red.” Jensen spoke, happy with himself. “Looks amazing.” Y/n smiled, moving to pick a Christmas hat from the tray. “Now, what are we watching?” Jensen asked, rubbing his hands together in anticipation.

It takes me back to younger days Of stockings on the fireplace And presents stacked And waiting by the tree And even if I'm all alone A million miles away from home It shows up in warm memory

The Christmas period went by fast, and soon it was Christmas eve. Daneel had been busy all day prepping for the Christmas dinner, and y/n had baked some cookies to be left out for Santa this evening with the kids. It was a rare time for y/n to be out of her room, she had spent most of it lounging around, avoiding the festive activities. Jensen was sorting out the front of the tree so the kids had somewhere to place the carrot, milk and cookies for Santa.

Y/n pursed her lip as she lay the tray of cookies to the side to rest. She wasn’t really feeling the festivities, but she decided to go help her father none the less. Seeing him standing at the front of the tree with his hands on his hips made her laugh lightly, and she sneaked a picture before moving to wrap an arm around.

“Hey there.” Jensen smiled, looking down at his eldest as she latched onto him. “Hi.” Y/n spoke, leaning into his embrace. “You finished the cookies?” “Yea, they’re cooling now. The task now is to prevent little hands getting at them.” Y/n stated, and Jensen nodded in agreement. “Gonna be tough.” Jensen spoke, pretending to shake her. The father daughter duo stood in silence, y/n looking down in thought. “You okay?” Jensen asked, seeing his daughters spaced off look. “Do you maybe, wanna hear my song?” Y/ blurted out quickly before she changed her mind. “I would love to.” Jensen smiled, glad she was letting him in. “It’s not an upbeat song, just to warn you.” Y/n stated as she walked slowly up the stairs. “I’m sure it’s amazing.” Jensen smiled reassuringly, following behind her.

Y/n walked in silence as they entered her room, and she sat by her keyboard, Jensen taking a seat on her bed. Breathing in deeply she glanced up to her father to see him smiling reassuringly. Seeing her shaking hands he winked at her to assure her it was okay. Tapping the keys to ensure it was on, She cleared her throat as she began to sing.

“Through the years….”

Jensen watched y/n with a sad smile as she sung, her confidence growing as she got into it. Realizing that she was actually singing how she felt this Christmas, his heart pulled as tears filled his eyes. This year had been a big change for the Ackles, with y/n no longer being home the house felt more empty. The family were used to Jensen being away for long periods of time, but when the eldest child left, a hole was felt. But for y/n, her first year of college was hard. The stress of continuous assignments being due, lead to her falling into a hole, a hole that was hard to get out of.

As she finished her song, y/n looked down with tears in er eyes, before jumping when she felt arms wrap around her. She closed her eyes as her father tightened his grip on her, and she sighed as he kissed her head from behind.

“Y/n love, you are one talented person.” Jensen sighed, rocking her gently. “I’m sorry I haven’t been excited this year.” Y/n spoke, moving to hold Jensen’s arms in her hands. “It’s okay, it is definitely ok not to feel festive.” Jensen sighed, moving to crouch in front of his daughter, “What your feeling is okay. There are others out there feeling the same for numerous reasons. You don’t have to feel anything if you don’t want to.” “I tried dad I really tried.” Y/n cried, moving to hug Jensen tightly. “Hey shush now, your okay. I’m here. You don’t have to try anything.” Jensen comforted her, rubbing her back gently. “I tried to hide it, I really did.” “You don’t have to hide anything. You can always come to me, I’m here for you alright.” Jensen spoke, moving to hold y/n’s face in his hands. “I love you dad.” Y/n sighed as Jensen brushed the tears away. “I love you too.” Jensen smiled, glad her daughter opened up.

Another year older Getting harder to believe But somehow Christmas always find me

Christmas morning was chaus in the Ackles household. JJ, Arrow and Zepplin were running wild though their parents rooms and their sisters, wanting to go downstairs and see what Santa had brought. Y/n groaned at being woken up, but allowed her brother to tug her out of bed. Deciding to sit away from the madness, she opted to sit on the stairs, leaning her head in her hand as she watched her siblings sort out the presents. She looked up when she felt a hand on her head and her father smiled down at her before moving to sit with her mother.

Christmas isn’t always a joyful time, and y/n was okay with that. She was okay with staying away from festivities this year, once she had her dad by her side.

Make it to Christmas (pt 3/3)

The funeral for y/n was short and sweet. They decided to do a traditional gypsy funeral, knowing how much y/n loved their past life. Only the family joined, with their heads bowed throughout the ceremony, no one spoke, too afraid of what would come out if they tried. The town knew of the Shelby’s loss, and felt sorry for them. Despite the chaus they caused, no family deserved to lose a young one.

The house was silent during the festive period. Y/n’s presents had been left under the tree, Pol not letting anyone touch them, even though no one tried. They were a small part of her, even if she wasn’t present. The young girls room hadn’t been touched since that night, the only thing moved was the bedding which y/n had stained that night, and Ada had cleaned up the droplets that had made their way down the floor. Finn had tried sleeping in there one night, but in a fit of rage Tommy had shouted at him, telling him he wasn’t to go into that room again. Arthur and John wouldn’t go to the family home, not wanting to step into a home that wouldn’t have the laughter they used to love.

Christmas eve dawned on them quicker than they would of liked, and Tommy couldn’t help but grit his teeth as he sat in the living room, remembering the years when y/n would be jumping around, excited to see what would be brought to her this year. She always asked for a doll of some sort, and a wooden gun to be like her brothers, and each year she got one, each time they grew in size. The fire blazed with the two children’s stockings still hanging above them. Even Finn couldn’t get into the Christmas spirit, with everything around the time reminding him of y/n. The two youngsters would usually be outside around now, running around with the other kids before they were called in to get ready for midnight mass. It was the one mass y/n enjoyed going to, loving to see the baby lying in his manger, surrounded by the animals, men and his mother.

That night was quiet, and each room was filled with tears. Tommy lay awake on his bed, smoking a cigarette as his thoughts spiralled. He refused to allow the tears in his eyes to fall, rolling the cigarette between his lips every now and then. Y/n’s last few moments rolled through his head, and he frowned, remembering what she had said. ‘Under the bed’. With confusion surrounding him, Tommy decided to go into his little sisters room.

It was eery as he stood in front of the door, knowing that even when he walked in he wouldn’t see y/n, curled up in a ball on the bed. Trying to prolong the unavoidable rush of emotions, Tommy slowly turned the handle before creeping the door open. The place still smelt like Ada’s perfume which the eleven year old  had sneakily took from Ada’s room, her older sister knew where it was but never acted on it. Looking around, the Shelby gangster could see pieces of paper thrown around, crayons and pencils scattered around the place. Not wanting to stay long, Tommy crouched down, looking under the girls bed to see an old biscuit tin underneath. Presuming that’s what the young girl was insinuating, Tommy grabbed it before heading out of the room, leaving the door open.

-------

Christmas morning was quiet in the Shelby home. Usually there would be a squeal in the early hours of the morning, before each person would be awoken by two children jumping on top of them, screaming it was Christmas. This year, Finn didn’t see the point in getting up, waking each person up. It didn’t feel right to do it on his own, so instead he waited until he heard the sound of footsteps before opening his door. Ada smiled sadly at the young boy who just stood in the doorway, before opening her arms, pulling him into a hug. Polly woke up to the sound of soft sobs, and couldn’t help the few tears that fell herself, feeling how bitter this day was going to be.

Few words were spoken as each family member sat at the kitchen, waiting for their toast to heat up. Usually Pol would make a fry up, but with her little helper not around, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. John and Arthur showed up shortly into the morning with their wives and Johns kids, but only a hello was spoken, until they made their way into the living room.

Finn hesitantly walked towards the tree seeing the small amount of presents that were around, one less pile was evident in the room. Ada’s breath caught in her throat as Finn handed out the presents, all evidently seeing one less name written on their presents. The adults tried to make Christmas somewhat normal for the kids sakes, but even they knew something was wrong. The rooms attention was drawn to Tommy as he cleared his throat.

“I know this Christmas is a tough one, just last week we said goodbye to our angel, but I know that she would want us to try celebrate it.” Tommy gruffly stated, standing up to the drinks cabinet. “Tommy, what are you doing?” Ada asked, confused on why each adult was given a glass of Sherry, the children moving out of the room. “To y/n.” Tommy spoke, holding up his glass. “Our darling sister.” Arthur spoke, holding his glass high. “Never forgotten.” Pol finished with a nod, before clinging the glasses together.

After downing the small amount of Sherry, Tommy grimaced at the taste before moving to the tree. Eyes watched him as he leaned down from behind, taking up an old biscuit box before placing it on the table in front of him. Recognizing y/n’s writing, Polly looked up at her nephew, squinting her eyes at him.

“What is this Tommy?” Polly asked, tears filling her eyes. “Before y/n died she told us under the bed. Now I didn’t think much of it until last night. And I found this.” Tommy tapped the box, “Ada, get Finn.” “What is it Tommy?” John asked, eyeing the box carefully.

Tommy waited until Ada came back in with Finn behind her. The youngest Shelby looked around before sitting on the ground by Arthurs feet, who tapped his head in comfort as the young boy stared at the box on the table. Breathing in deeply, Tommy opened the lid, before taking out some papers that were inside.

“Y/n always loved drawing, even when she got sick she used all her energy to dray. I never knew why until now. She made each of us a picture, with a little something on the back of  each.” Tommy explained, moving to hand out each of his siblings and Polly a sheet of paper. “Her last gift to us.” John stated, and he hung his head, not sure how to react. “Something to remember her by.” Tommy nodded, before taking a seat by the fire once again. “She was always such a thoughtful kid.” Ada spoke fondly. “Y/n you angel.” Polly smiled, looking down at the picture in her hand. “Some people make the world special, just by being in it.” Arthur read from the back. “Describes y/n to a T.” Arthurs wife spoke with a smile, placing a hand on her husbands back. “She was special.” Finn spoke tearfully, and Arthur rubbed his head gently. “Marry Christmas y/n.” Polly whispered, bringing the picture of an angel close to her. “Our angel in the sky.” Ada smiled sorrowfully, looking down at her own angel picture.
