i NEED that
Cat therapy for the red hood
reading some cale quotes for fic purposes and i can't believe how much you can forget when you blitz through 1000+ chapters in less than two months.
like, cale curses so much. so much. i guess i didn't really internalize it since it was spread out over the whole novel, but he has such a dirty mouth and literally every time he mentions his enemies, he's cursing up a storm.
"i don't care if he's lived a thousand years or not, that shithead is a fucking bastard from now on." cale henituse, on the greatest threat of the whole part one of the novel. he's so eloquent.
i forgot how snarky his internal voice is. actually, maybe not forgot. just, kind of got used to it? until i stopped registering the absolutely sick burns he keeps dishing out on the regular.
it takes him until chapter 270 to realize that he should have just let choi han beat him up. that seems like a lot, but we've still barely reached the eastern continent. adin is still alive. cale doesn't even know who the white star is. the trouble hasn't even started.
also, at one point he actually admits to being raon, on and hong's parent??? out loud??? i can't believe i missed that, the whole dodori thing distracted me.
"raon. I’m someone who cannot forget. don't be like me." i didn't actually forget this one, but it feels like a gut punch every time i read it again.
He was not normal about anything but my brain rotted on Isekai couldn't see it
Thinking about Kim Roksoo who easily accepted that he now lives in a world where monsters exist and beastmen exist and magic and stuff exists. Because he came from a world that was infested by monsters and people awakened abilities. He wasn't much fazed by it because it was basically the same just the medium to deal with them changed. It should have been the first hint for us that he did not come from the normal Korea.
Just imagine KRS clocking the batfam secret identities the first time he arrives on Gotham. But the contract to be the Wayne's bodyguard is so juicy he just say "fuck it, we ball" and applys to that shit.
And he gets hired because Batman thinks he is suspicious asf because he has no background and recently arrived in Gotham. And then he gets to know him and can't let this depressed man alone or he will find a way to die.
And KRS is just confused by those rich kids, strangely nice and way too welcoming for their own good. So he decides they need to be protected by all costs.
Cue, KRS using instant the first time Two Face or someone interrupts a gala and beats the shit out of him, because, the audacity of this bitch to point a gun to his family.
For a while, the Batfamily thought that KRS was a clone of Batman
There was a theory that he was another of his bio-sons that he didn't know about but it was dismissed because KRS was too old for that
Idk, just an idea
Cale said calmly as he planned how to burn everything down.
"I missed the part where that's my problem" -Cale Henituse, about to make it his problem
PAIN, SUFFERING, EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
Batman gives each of his Robins a different code to use when they’re in trouble and need immediate extraction. He promises that when they call, he’ll drop everything just to get to them, come hell or high water.
Jason, during his time with the League, shares his code with Damian, to be used “only in the direst of circumstances, when you have exhausted all other options.” He doesn’t know if Bruce will answer, given how fractured their relationship was before he died, but it is better than nothing. Every tool counts when they live such dangerous lives.
Damian uses it exactly once, and Bruce, who still feels the loss of his son like a yawning chasm in his chest, responds to it even though he knows it can’t be Jason because Jason’s dead. What he finds, instead of Jason, is a boy in League garbs, drenched in blood from the tips of his midnight-black hair to his too-small feet, with a face that Bruce sees himself and Talia in, requesting asylum from a grandfather who wishes to possess his body. Bruce doesn’t question how this boy who is so clearly his son knew the code. Talia al Ghul is resourceful and places family above all; the code is not beyond her abilities to discover, and she is not above using Bruce’s desperate love for his dead son to ensure that hers does not meet the same fate.
Bruce takes Damian in, because of course he does, and since Jason is dead he allows Damian to keep using the code. After all, it’s not like Jason is alive to use it, right? If someone uses the code, there’s no one it could be but Damian, right?
The next time the code is used, Bruce traces the location to Gotham even though Damian was supposed to be in Bludhaven visiting Dick. But whatever happened that resulted in Damian being in Gotham can wait, because he has already failed one son and he will not fail another, his son is in trouble and he needs to get to him, he needs to—
What he finds, instead of Damian, is a boy (just eighteen, too young, but also too old, but also he will always be a boy to him) in League garbs, drenched in blood from the tips of his midnight-black hair to his too-large feet (when had he gotten so big), wearing the face of his dead son.
(Who, maybe, just maybe, may no longer be so dead.)
Ohhh [fictional character with worse mental health than me] save meeeee from this cruel world.
|19 y.o – She/Her| I need to practice my english. I chose writing about everything that came to my mind. If you saw a grammatical error, no, you didn't.
