Other Parts are Here -> Part One --- Part Two --- Part Three
Donatello had a big problem. A very, very (that’s two verys) big problem. When he had given you that list a week ago he never expected you to actually do any of it. He just wanted to keep you busy, keep your strange and unusual feelings away from him. Feelings are way too complicated for this man of science to deal with, so the better option was to keep you and those emotions away from him. That was all he wanted, but when you came back with a big smile and a manilla file in hand, something changed. Donnie’s hands trembled as he marked off that first bullet in a purple Sharpie. As the purple ink slid onto the paper, Donnie realized just how deep of a pit he got himself into.
The genius highly underestimated your crush on him, your desire to date him. Donnie that night was unable to focus on his projects, panicking over his mistake to start this list thing with you instead. He paced in his lab, trying to figure out how he was going to fix this, make you forget the list and just not have anything happen with the paper.
He slid his hands over his face as he groaned loudly looking back to his computer. The file you had given him with all the Purple Dragon’s codes and secret files filled his screen. As he stared at the screen, soaking in the blue light from the monitors, he began to think. You gave him a direct way to sabotage the dragons, with your determination could you get him the cloaking brooch? The uranium? Donnie’s heart raced at the thoughts of what could be possible with you as his little errand-runner. “Maybe I can make this work…” the mutant mumbles as he runs his fingers over the folder, the list on the top of the cream file.
When Donnie asked you to go on a trip to the Hidden City with him, your heart nearly jumped from your chest. He said in his text that he needed to get some more mystic crystals for his tech bo and goggles. Maybe this could be an opportunity for you to get another bullet or two off the list. Of course you reply with an eager yes, buzzing with excitement, all worries about Donnie using you flying out the window. You kick and giggle like a young middle school you all over again on your bed, blushing madly at the offer. Taking a deep breath, you try to calm down, this is definitely not a date, just a supply run for Donnie and your list. That is all this is. Yep, definitely all this is.
You shake your fists by your chest, a stim of your overwhelming happiness as you can’t help but see this as a date. Although it wasn’t posed as a date, it felt like one. You text Donnie to meet you at Hueso’s for lunch before you both head to the yokai city for the totally not date.
You slip into a lilac T-shirt and ripped jeans, casual white sneakers on. You wanted to be comfy for the trip, the run possibly lasting hours. With a bag and a smile you meet Donnie at the hidden entrance to Run of the Mill Pizza, the place close to your apartment. As you wait for the purple softshell to show up you chew on your thumb nail and pace, mind racing with excitement and a little anxiety.
“You’re gonna fry your brain with all that thinking,” a voice says from below you. You snap your head to the manhole cover, the man of your enfatuation climbing to the surface.
You grin as you help Donatello by lifting the cover to let him get out all the way. The man was dressed in black cargo pants, and a loose white tank top over the sleek battle shell he always wore, a black hat over his mask, eyebrows perfectly drawn on, and bulky black boots on his feet. You bite your lip as you take in his exposed muscles, lean and so very hot. You look at his face, blushing as you find yourself caught in your staring. You look to the asphalt, clearing your throat at the nice sight of the softshell as you put the cover back over the manhole. “Hungry?” You ask as you look back to Donnie leaning on your tip toes as you gesture nervously to the Hidden City portal.
“For pizza? Scoff, is that even a question?” He walks into the portal, you following behind a bright red flush to your skin.
The smell of delicious, warm food fills your senses as you both walk in, yokai and mutants mingling in the diner. “Ah, Donatello welcome back,” A talking skeleton greets the two of you, a fond smile on his face. “No Pepino today?” Hueso quirks his eye ridge up as he leans against the host podium, causally talking with the softshell.
Donnie shakes his head, “Nope just me and a friend.” Your heart pangs at the title as Hueso nods his head and leads the two of you to a table. “I’ll do a flavorless juice and,” the mutant looks to you a brow raised in question, “Just a pepperoni?” Donnie asks you.
You hum as you are brought back to reality. “Huh?” Donnie repeats his question with a roll of his coffee eyes. “Oh…uh yeah, pepperoni is fine,” You bite your lip, trying to hide your disappointment over the ‘just a friend’ title Donnie gave you earlier. You are just friends, so he wasn’t lying, but it still kinda hurt. “And a Dr. Pepper for a drink.” Hueso nods and finishes up the order, putting it into the kitchen shortly after.
The silence at your table is awkward, your hands fiddling with one another below the table, bag next to you. “So, you wanted to get crystals, right?” You ask, unable to keep the silence and tension between the two of you. You look up at Donnie, seeing him just as fidgety as you.
Donnie looks to the side, “Yeah, I need some, the current crystals in my bo and goggles are running low on power.”
“O-okay cool,” You mumble looking back at your hands. “Anything else you wanna get while we’re down here?” You try not to sound nervous, failing miserably.
Thankfully the gods are on your side as the pipping hot pizza is placed on the table, Donnie’s juice and your Dr. Pepper placed on the respective sides. You both drool at the sight of the pizza, stomachs growling hungrily. You hum as you pick up a piece, devouring the cheese and meat heaven. “I would like to do a few other things while we are here,” the turtle say after swallowing a bite. “-get a few of your things marked off?” Donnie says, finally answering your question.
You choke on your soda, so shocked he even wanted to do that with you. He looks at you, puzzled at your reaction. You cough as you take a sip to calm the burn in your throat. “Oh, um yeah, I was planning on it anyway,” you managed to squeak out, rubbing your chest, the spot a little irritated from your coughing fit. Your face burned as you look off to the side, trying to settle yourself.
Donnie smiles, your heart fluttering at the expression. “Good,” he says as he takes your free hand, rubbing his thumb over your knuckles. “I kind of want this list to be completed.”
Your eyes grow comically large at the turtle’s words. “Y-you do?” Donnie nods to your question, as he eats another portion of his pizza. Your heart thuds against you rib cage, ears ringing, stomach rolling from Donnie’s confession. He wants this. He wants you to be successful with this list. Donnie, the emotionless bad boy, wants to get this list done so the two of you can date. You shake your head, an ear splitting grin on your face. You buzz in your seat, wanting to badly to kiss the mutant and check off your list. You can’t help it as you slap some cash on the table and bolt out of the diner, Donnie’s hand in yours.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
In a few short weeks, everything changed between you and Donnie. Everything for once in your crazy life was going right. After that first totally not date, the two of you continued to do little runs like that, Donnie helping you get the items on the list occasionally. Your heart soared every single time he sent a text about a trip. You traveled to Donnie’s favorite junk yards, the Hidden City multiple times, New York and so many other places with him, each trip feeling more and more like a date.
At twenty five days after marking off the first bullet on the list, you only had one item left. Uranium. Stupid uranium.
You dreaded getting the item, knowing it was pretty damn close to impossible to get. But you were determined. For once something was completely worth the risk, worth the pain and hours of stress put into each plan to check off another bullet. Donnie’s grin of excitement when you brought him the cloaking brooches, the scraps of precious metal, the crystals, it was all worth it. That look, the stims of joy, the oddly comforting evil laugh Donnie would make. The almost kiss that happened.
You snuck into Donnie’s lab with a very rare piece of machinery, Big Mama had it for some reason, but with a few twists on both ends, you got it. Sure you have a debt to the mob boss now, but to see Donnie look at you like he cared about you was all worth it.
“Donnie~” you call out to the mutant, pulling your bag off your shoulders. You unzip it as the purple softshell drops what he was doing and comes to you. You pull out the machinery with a smirk, watching as Donnie’s jaw drops, wide and definitely not drooling.
“Holy truffle mac and cheese, you got it?” he stutters out looking at the metal in your hands. He carefully plucks it from your fingers, stars in his eyes as he looks it over, “How?”
You try to act cool about his reaction, the banging of your heart in your chest and blood rushing faster than Sonic the Hedgehog, leaving you a little dizzy. “Eh, I managed to make a deal with BM over it.” You try to relax your stance, wanting to look chill and definitely not ready to bounce around the room at the speed of light.
Donnie’s eyes widen as he looks at you, “You made a deal with Big Mama? The mob queen of the Hidden City?” You nod, looking down to hide your blush, your left foot digging into the subway car floor. “God you are an absolute dumb dumb for doing that,” As you look up you see Donnie smiling at you, big and bright.
You can’t help but get close to him, not close enough to touch since for the mutant that is a big no-no, and you were not going to cross that line. You raise to your tiptoes, nose mear inches from his snout, “But I got it!” You see Donnie’s eyes flick down to your lips as you speak, his chest rising and falling quickly. He bites his lip and for a moment you contemplate whether or not to close the gap. You really want to close the gap, you want to feel his lips against yours so badly. And for a tiny moment, you swear Donnie wanted it too.
When the softshell clears his throat you snap out of it, faces flushed as you both take a step back from one another. “Uh thank you, Y/n,” the ninja swallows, returning to his desk to check off the list and to set down the metal.
You timidly walk over to him, trying to push passed the awkwardness of the almost kiss. You look over his shoulder, counting the remaining bullets unmarked by purple ink. “Six left!” You whisper, fingers shaking as you touch the paper as Donnie caps the marker . He looks at you and then look back to the list. “Six items and then you’ll be my boyfriend.”
Donnie rubs the back of his neck, “Yeah, boyfriend.”
Something about the way he sad that rubbed you wrong but you were too excited about finishing the list to care.
Now at one item, you stressed the next five days to get that stupid uranium. You scoured the internet to see if there was any news articles about big companies with your last item, unfortunately you couldn’t find any place that you could easily break into and get some. Hey, you may be desperate, but you were not breaking into tech genius billionaire, John Bishop’s business. He has more security than Big Mama does, and she was difficult as is.
You decided to turn to the turtle’s contacts, only one making you cry when they answered yes to having uranium on the second to last day of the thirty-day promise you made to Donatello. Of course, the Baron Draxum, when he lived in the Hidden City, had access to uranium. You thanked the goat man over and over again for letting you access his old lab. He asked you to grab a few things alongside the uranium while you were down there, because of course he would, and sent you on your way to the location.
Once you were down in the Hidden City you wandered to the location, cringing when you see the decrepit building, vines, and trash littering the place, clearly not having been touched in the years of Barry’s absence. Using a dagger you had gotten as a defense weapon from the turtles one Christmas, you thrash into the overgrowth that covered the door, gagging at the sound the vines made and the horrid scent that entered your nose as soon as you busted open the doors. You used the flashlight on your phone as you warily walk into the old lab, avoiding the crumbly walls, vines, and sciencey-type stuff. It was even worse looking inside than the out, but with all the sciencey botany stuff inside you figured Donnie would like to come here.
‘Maybe once we officially start dating I can take him here,’ you think to yourself as you look at all the books covered in dust and grime. ‘If it gets a good cleaning first.’
It took over an hour for you to find the box of uranium that Draxum had tucked away in his lab. You grinned as you pulled it out, seeing the glistening element under your phone’s flashlight. You pick up the box placing the other items you grabbed for the goat man inside before leaving the lab, closing the creaking doors behind you. You nearly trip over the steps as you leave, twisting your ankle in the process. You hiss at the pain in your foot, not too thrilled about having to limp back to a portal to get home. But you do it anyway, picking up a few pizzas for the boys at Hueso’s as you take a small rest for your aching limb at the pizza place.
Your ankle screams at you as you drop off the items requested by Barry to him, getting a small thanks from the yokai. You lift the nearest manhole from Draxum’s home and sit on the asphalt for a moment. This was so surreal for you. After months of pinning, you finally get Donnie’s heart after you willingly gave him yours. You look at your ankle, the joint swollen and bruising. You wince, “I might’ve rolled it more than I thought.” You shake your head, figuring Leo can take care of it once you give your soon-to-be boyfriend the uranium.
With your heart racing, you slip into the sewers to your fate, pizza and your last bullet on your list in hand.
Donnie paces in the kitchen, brothers surrounding him to help him with his current dilemma. “I don’t know what to do, this is all too,” the mutant rubs his hands over his face, looking helplessly at his brothers, “-too complicated.”
“Dontron, my dear twin,” Leo purrs, earning a glare from Donnie at the mention of the ‘twin’ thing. “You clearly love Y/n too.” Donnie rolls his eyes, looking away from the slider in clear annoyance.
“Yeah it’s kinda obvious, why would you do the list anyway?” Mikey chirps as Raph nods his head beside him.
The purple clad ninja glares at his brothers, a growl rumbling from his chest. They didn’t understand. This list was not to prove that Y/n liked Donnie enough to get the stuff, it was to keep them away. And how dare his siblings assume the softshell liked that mess of a human. Yeah their presence over the last few weeks became a comfort and maybe he enjoyed seeing the glint of pride and joy in their eyes every time they brought in an item, but that does not mean he had a crush. His dumb dumb brothers didn’t understand. “Scoff, I didn’t think that they would actually do any of it-” Donnie huffs, crossing his arms over his plastron as he leans against the back kitchen counter, his siblings, more like accusers in this moment, against the other counter, skeptical looks on their faces. “What I just wanted to keep them and all their complicated,” Donnie cringes, “-feelings away from me.”
“So you just wanted to push them away and instead made the two of you even closer?” Raph asks elbows leaning against the counter as he wears a sly grin on his face, snaggle tooth poking into his bottom lip at the action. Donnie hisses at his older brother, confirming his suspicion.
“Then why did you go on dates with them?” Mikey adds, tilting his head, a puzzled look on his round face.
Donnie throws his head back, his mask tails brushing his battle shell. “They were not dates Micheal,” the softshell looks at his brothers again, clearly frustrated and, dare they say, looking a little scared. “I just used the outings as a distraction so they wouldn’t find out I was using them for all the items on the list!” His siblings gawk at his reply, eyes wide as they stare the purple genius down. Donnie shrugs his shoulders, “What?”
Mikey pinches what would be his nose bridge if he had one, “Donnie you realize the problem here right?” Yes, yes he did, and frankly he didn’t care. It was Y/n’s stupid crush that caused this whole problem in the first place. It’s their fault all of this has happened. Don’t blame him.
Leo wraps and arm around his shoulder, one he quickly backs away from. “Dude, they have it down bad for you and you decide to use their crush on you as an opportunity to get shit for you?” Leo looks disappointed as Donnie pulls away from his arm. The softshell looks at his older and youngest brother, similar looks on their faces.
“Not cool Don,” Raph whispers, voice full of big brother shame. Donnie cringes hating the fact he disappointed his siblings, each turtle’s expression burning into his mind.
Donnie shakes his head, trying to stay strong and justify his choices, “Okay, and what if I am?” His brothers stare at Donnie, and he can’t help but shudder under their stares. “ I’ve been using them to get stuff for my projects. Once I realized they were crazy enough to actually do that kind of thing for me I decided I could make it all work out and I-”
A loud crash is heard right at the entrance of the kitchen. The beacon of the problem standing in the doorway with wide eyes. “What?” Donnie and his brothers freeze at the sight of you, boxes crushed against the floor in a messy heap.
“Oh...uh hello Y/n,” Donnie swallows the thick lump in his throat as he sees you. Of course, this would happen, classic romance kinda thing. The snapper, slider and box turtle leave the kitchen, and Donnie almost begs them to stay. Almost.
“You’ve been using me?” Donnie rolls his eyes, not understanding why this was such a shocker of a thing for him to do. He looks at you and- oh. Oh.
Oh.
The expression on your face erases his brother’s disappointed looks from minutes ago. Yours is burned, no, carved into his mind. Your eyes are owlishly wide, body trembling as tears bead in the corners of your eyes Donnie grew to like watch crinkle with a smile on the chapped lips you bit so often. Your face was pale and not the healthy pink it glowed with normally.
Donnie looks down to the ground before stepping towards you and when you immediately step back, something inside him breaks. He didn’t like this reaction one bit, all of it rubbed him wrong. “L-look,” the softshell stutters eyes to the kitchen tiles once again. “I-”
“No.”
“What?” Donnie looks up to you, seeing your cheeks glistening with fresh tears.
You swallow thickly, shaking your head as you back up. “No, I-I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear fake excuse from you.” You try to wipe your eyes and it takes everything he has to not grab your face to wipe them from your cheeks because dammit he did not like that. “I can’t believe I believed your little list was to date you!” You scoff and cover your face in one hand.
“I didn’t think you would do it,” Donnie whispers as he tries to step towards you again, really wanting to explain everything and get that stupid look off your face.
Your head snaps up from your hands, “Yeah and I didn’t think you would use me.” You bark and it sends a shiver down Donnie’s spine, feeling it in his shell from the bitter tone you speak in. “Why did you do it anyway?” You ask folding your arms over your chest, all your weight placed on one foot
Donnie swallows the worsening lump in his throat. He focuses on the floor instead of your body, trying to ignore the pit of despair forming in his gut. “Feelings are complicated,” He hears you scoff at that but continues, “Your feelings are complicated, a-and I didn’t like that,” the softshell wets his lips, digging for the right words in his mind. “I wanted to keep you busy by giving you crazy tasks, and by Newton’s law you did it.” Donnie finally gets the courage to look at you again, only to regret it by seeing your face full of hurt and anger. “A-and I decided to, to use your blind devotion to get all that stuff for experiments and projects.”
You are silent for a while and Donnie almost sighs with relief to have it over, but of course, you reply to his statement in the worst way possible. “So none of this was because you liked me back?” Donnie looks away again and nods. You huff, a broken sound Donnie never wants to hear again. “This entire time I thought maybe I had a chance. I thought the one guy I have ever loved this hard actually wanted me. Those dates, or do you even want to call them that?” Donnie cringes, realizing how it looked from your point now. You suck in a deep breath, taking his silence as the answer to your question. “Those were dates to me, and I loved every single one. Every. One.” You throw your arms into the air, “I thought you loved me, I guess I was wrong.” Donnie hears you begin to move away and fights himself on whether or not to stop you. He almost does until you speak again, voice low and full of venom. “Enjoy your uranium, asshole.”
The turtle looks down at the fallen boxes, remembering their presence. He sees pizza scattered on the ground from Run of the Mill, boxes crumpled under another, much bigger box. He crouches to the ground and his heart stops as he sees the precious item he’s been wanting for so long. His breath hitches in his throat as he looks up to try and stop you from leaving but you are already gone. Donnie’s vision swims as he shakily grabs a clump of the element, staring at it with disdain. He drops it in the box and curls in on himself, feeling incredibly guilty, remembering all the ‘dates’ the two of you had, the smile that made his heart pound against his plastron, your voice making his soft shell shiver. He closes his eyes trying to block out how overwhelmed he felt, only to see your broken expression in the darkness of his eyelids.
Donnie sobs, as he realizes what he just did, and that he did in fact feel the same way you do about him. Fuck.
First Franky of 2025!! I been meaning to post this one since last month, but I’ve been busy being depressed and lonely and playing marvel rivals.
Right, considering the current state of corporate politics on this site, and that it seems that only those affected seem to be actively speaking on the matter, it is up to I, the only fucking cishet on tumblr, to drag this out to a wider audience.
We need to show these higher ups how much we truly value them.
Teehee~

Donnie was in his lab, because where else would he be? He was jamming to some EDM music in the background while tinkering with some project of his. You sat in front of him, starting to get bored. He had invited you over to show you his latest masterpiece, but it hadn’t worked yet, so now he was trying to fix the issue. Which according to him would be a quick fix, but he had been at it for over half an hour now, cursing under his breath.
“You better leave all the tools how you found them,” he said without looking up, as he could hear the light clattering.
“I know your system,” you reassured him. “You've explained it in great detail several times, don’t you worry.”
“Then, can you pass me the screwdriver, please?” he asked, stretching out his hand in your direction.
You reached out to pick it up from the box but it fell from your hand, rolling over the edge of his work table. You flinched slightly, ready for the clatter it would make as it fell onto the floor, since that screwdriver was modified by Donnie and particularly heavy. But the sound never came. Instead you heard more of an electrical zap and a whoosh.
Taking a couple of steps to get around the table, you saw that there was a hole on the floor where the screwdriver would have been. It was circular, formed by several zapping rays of a yellow-ish glow. You couldn't see through it, but it was clear that the tool fell in there. You merely blinked at the sight in front of you, unable to say anything.
Not getting a response from you, Donnie also moved from his spot, leaving his work on the table, and walked over, now standing in front of you on the other side of… whatever that was.
“Huh,” is all that he said.
“What is that?” you asked after a moment. “And why are you not alarmed?”
Donnie scoffed.
“It’s obvious it's some kind of portal,” he explained, turning around to his wall of machinery, tapping something on this brace device.
You raised your hands and eyebrows in a ‘well, sorry I didn’t immediately recognise it as such’ gesture, even though he had his back to you.
“I need to analyse it,” Donnie informed you as he turned around. “Better get a little further back just in case–”
Suddenly the screwdriver appeared again, coming out straight out of the portal, a tiny turtle hand attached to it.
You both stood in silence and shock, watching how a little turtle tot climbed out the portal carrying the heavy tool, finally getting to sit on the floor with a huff. The baby had a little ribbon tied to her head, which hung a little askew because of her efforts. She looked at you with a smile, then at Donnie, and squealed in glee, holding out the screwdriver with both hands towards him, as if offering it to him.
Then the portal zapped loudly, and shut closed. The little turtle seemed unfazed by this, still waiting for Donnie to react.
Donnie opened and closed his mouth several times but no words came out. You approached the baby and crouched down next to her.
“H-hey there, little one,” you greeted her, and she cooed. “Where did you come from, hm?”
You took the screwdriver from the little hands, placing it on the table, and picked up the baby in your arms.
“Huh, look at you, aren't you cute?”, you said as you inspected her chubby cheeks and big eyes. “What’s your name?”
The baby cooed and babbled as you moved the ribbon up her head to where you thought it was meant to sit. You fixed your grasp on the turtle to carry her better against your hip, in the process stroking over her back with your hand, and your brows raised at the sensation.
“Donnie look,” you pointed out to him. “She has a soft shell, just like you!”
You turned back to him and he was still in shock, unmoving. But you had been with him long enough to pick up on the tiny changes in his face to read them. Given the twitch of the corner of his mouth, you knew his mind was not only racing, but he already had a plausible hypothesis for this situation.
“Spit it out, Don,” you said with an amused sigh. “You already know what happened, right?”
“I think I do,” he answered.
Donnie approached you and the baby, guiding you to a different part of the lab, where he instructed you to place her in a little open chamber, which you knew he used to analyse materials. You tilted your head at his request.
“Do you really need to know her molecular composition to tell she's a turtle like you?” you deadpanned.
“I just want to know for sure if she’s who I think she is–”
“Whoa!” came a voice from behind you suddenly. “You two sure work fast!”
You both turned around to see Leo, Mikey and Raph at the entrance of the lab.
“We leave to get food and you already had a baby?” Leo joked.
Heat spread on your face, burning on your cheeks.
“We- Wha-??” you stumbled over your words. The baby in your arms squealed in glee, apparently very on board with Leo’s comment.
“That’s not how it works, Leo,” Mikey said, grabbing his brother by the shoulder. “Babies aren't made in labs, they–”
“Yeah, they grow in a cabbage,” Raph interjected. “Everyone knows that.”
You all went silent.
“I’m obviously joking!” Raph called, Leo and Mikey erupting in laughter.
While you were busy trying to get your heated cheeks under control and everyone was making fun of Raph, Donnie had taken the little turtle from your arms and placed her into the chamber. He left the front panel open so she wouldn't feel trapped.
There was a loading bar on his screen, labelled „retrieving genetic material“. The bar progressed fairly quickly and after a couple of seconds the message appeared: „Analysis successful: Congrats, it‘s a girl!“ accompanied by the sound of a party blower, and followed by some caricatures of you and Donnie's faces surrounded by confetti.
At that, the laughter died down and all eyes fell on you.
“Oh my god, called it!” Leo exclaimed.
“Shut up,” you told him, but the embarrassment in your voice didn’t make it sound particularly stern. “Donnie, clearly that's not possible, right?”
As you asked this, you turned around to see the turtle in question averting his eyes, a bit tensed up with his shoulders slightly raised, and hands curled into fists. Under his mask you could see a furious blush reaching to his neck.
“Eh?” is all you managed to mutter out.
“Clearly she came from a different timeline or dimension, but…” Donnie started, bringing up his hands to his face to try and hide from you. “Yeah, it's true.”
Letting out a shaky sigh, he picked up the little turtle, who had been following the whole exchange with great interest, looking from one person to the other. Donnie then moved to sit where he had been earlier, at the table, with the little turtle on his lap, looking lost in thoughts.
You shooed the other three out of the room, much to their dismay, to get a moment alone with Donnie. He was being a bit uncharacteristically quiet and … non-rambly, science-wise.
Grabbing your chair, you brought it to the other side of the table to sit next to him. Meanwhile, the baby turtle had discovered Donnie’s abandoned project on the table and her focus shifted completely to it. From his lap she could reach properly and started investigating the device. Donnie didn't seem to mind at all, which was sounding yet another alarm in your head. Instead of reprimanding the smaller turtle to leave his things alone, as you would have expected, he watched with soft eyes how she skillfully turned the device in her little hands, babbling to herself as if trying to make sense of his contraption.
“Is… everything okay?” you asked softly, placing your hand on his arm.
“I’m just…” Donnie took a moment to find the right word. “Stunned, I guess.”
“How so?”
“I’ve tried imagining this a couple of times,” he started, scratching the back of his neck, then clicked his tongue. “Scratch that, I think about this all the time.”
“About what?” you questioned, and your heart skipped a beat; does he mean what you think he means?
“You’re really gonna make me say it out loud,” he mumbled, lifting his eyes to meet yours, then heaved a deep sigh. “About us. What life will be like with you by my side.”
He then gestured to the little turtle still tinkering with the device.
“And about having kids, apparently.”
“Y-you think about our future together?” you said almost in disbelief, your chest tightening at his confession.
“Of course I do,” he responded immediately. “I can't really imagine a future without you in it. O-only if you want to stay, that is.”
“Obviously I want to!” you said and held his hand. You were leaning in, about to give him a kiss, when the turtle tot exclaimed in glee. And you could have sworn it sounded like she was trying to say “eureka”.
Before Donnie could stop her, she detached two cables, turned the thing around and connected them on the opposite side. You three looked at it expectantly to do something, but nothing was happening, so she gave it a smack with a grunt, and that's when the lights went on and it started whirring.
“No way! You fixed it?” Donnie exclaimed happily and held the baby under her armpits, lifting her up, to which she cooed and blew a raspberry.
With a smile, you leaned your head on your hand, propped up on your elbow on the table.
“Well, it’s no wonder she’s smart,” you spoke. “She’s got good genes, after all.”
Donnie’s gaze came to meet yours and he smiled as well, one of his rare soft ones, and your heart started racing all over again.
Just as you were about to ask what you should do with her, there was some zapping behind you, the same zapping you had heard from the portal earlier.
“Donnie is gonna kill meee,” came a familiar voice as a figure crossed through the portal into the lab, and you couldn’t believe your eyes: it was an older version of Mikey.
When he spotted the baby in Donnie’s arms, his shoulders slumped visibly in relief.
“You little rascal!” Mikey scolded her. “I look away for three seconds and you go off running!”
The baby stuck out her tongue at him, trying to hide behind Donnie’s arm.
“Heh, looks like brains aren't the only thing she inherited from you,” you tell Donnie with a mischievous grin.
“Whatever could you be implying,” he remarked sarcastically.
Mikey went to pick up the baby but she cried out, her arms doing a grabby motion towards you, and you could feel your heart tightening a bit at the sight.
“Hey now, it’s okay, little one,” you tried comforting her as you held her tiny hands. “We’ll see each other again, I’m sure.”
Donnie tensed up his jaw as the baby was taken from him, and you couldn’t help the sad smile on your face. Mikey shot you an apologetic look, and turned back towards the portal.
“This never happened, we were never here,” he said over his shoulder with a wink, and stepped through the whirls.
The portal zapped closed again, and not a second later three heads peeked into the lab through the door.
“Is everything alright?” Raph asked.
“We heard voices just now, was someone here?” Leo questioned as he looked around.
“Where's the baby?!” Mikey said, bringing his hands to his head.
“It’s okay,” you calmed them down. “She's back where she's supposed to be.”
Donnie’s hand came to hold your own under the table.
“We’ll see her again,” he promised, more to you than the others. “Hopefully soon.”
And then you knew the heat that prickled your cheeks probably wasn’t gonna leave any time soon.

Donnie was starting to freak out. Leo had begun acting really strange since they bought the egg back to the lair. Since neither April nor Splinter were available, he sent you a quick text, asking you to come over to help. But when he saw how Leo bit Raph and how Raph acted after that, he regretted requesting your presence. This was more dangerous than he had anticipated and he had sent you right into the dragons den. He had called you numerous times but you hadn’t picked up. Donnie presumed you rushed over and forgot your phone at home.
Donnie and Mikey, being the only ones not infected yet, hid themselves in the kitchen. They planned to get a sample of the virus in the egg to create an antidote for their brothers. As they were about to begin their mission, a loud bang filled the room, making them freeze. Both Leo and Raph had freed themselves from the locked down garage and entered the kitchen. Since neither of them were currently guarding the egg, it was the perfect moment to strike.
Mikey led the way to where the egg sat on one of the beanbags. Before they could insert the needle for the sample however, both Raph and Leo attacked them. Their eyes totally black. While Mikey fought back against Raph, Donnie was trying to hold Leo at bay. Then he heard it.
“Hello?” It was your voice, Donatello panicked. And his fears were correct, because as soon as the two infected brothers heard your call, they turned their heads, growling. Then you walked around the corner. You were out of breath, you must have been running all the way here, Donnie thought. Then he saw you smiling.
“Woah, I’m glad you guys are alright, so, where’s this egg Donnie told me about?” Right when you said that, Leo and Raph sprang into action, ready to attack anything and anyone, who tried to hurt the egg. You gasped and darted out of the way. Donnie and Mikey immediately coming to your aid, fighting with their brothers. You didn’t know how to react. Never in all the time you’d been friends with the boys, had any of them ever tried to hurt you. Something must be really wrong.
Mikey had successfully flung Raph across the room, where he didn’t move anymore. He then quickly came to help Donnie, who was being charged by his twin brother. Tying him up with the chain of his mystic Kusari-fundo. When you came up to them you looked down at Leo, who sat on the floor, you hugged yourself. Leo looked nothing like himself. The scowl on his face and the way he fought back against his brothers scared you.
“Guys, what’s going on?” You asked timidly. But Donnie just touched your shoulder, looking behind you, his brows furrowed.
“Where’s Raph?” You turned around, Raph wasn’t where Mikey had flung him. There was just a huge dent in the wall, where he’d hit it. Mikey then cursed and walked a few steps to look at the beanbag.
“He took the egg, Donnie what are we gonna do?” Mikey sounded scared too. Hearing his nervous voice made you even more scared. Donnie thought for a moment.
“We’re gonna take Leo to my Lab, and enclose ourselves in it, maybe I can fix up an antidote from his blood.”
The three of you heaved Leo into the Lab. After the two finally filled you in on what had happened, Donnie took a syringe from one of his cabinets.
“Well, let’s hope our plan works.” He said and stuck the needle in his brothers arm, Leo snarled at him. You took a step back, still unnerved by the way his eyes were blacked out. Then you saw it.
“Donnie, you’ve been bitten.” You said and Mikey gasped.
“They are right, there’s a bitemark on your shoulder, Donnie, that must’ve happened during the fight.”
“That means-“ Donnie started to say. “-I’m infected! I have to hurry and get the antidote ready.” He got up and ran towards his work table. He started mixing chemicals together, the liquid turning all kinds of different colors. After about a minute of Mikey and you just watching Donnie work, he suddenly stumbled back holding his head.
“I can’t go on. I’m starting to turn.” He groaned. You looked at Mikey, an idea forming in your head.
“Donnie, can you explain to us how to make the antidote, so we can finish what you started.” Donnie blinked open one eye and looked at you. He would have to, since he was sure to not be of any help in a few minutes. He had to tell you and Mikey what to do and quickly get out to not hurt any of you.
He explained the last steps carefully, hoping that the two of you would accomplish the task. He then sank to the floor. You immediately went to his side.
“Mikey, begin the process, I’m gonna get Leo and Donnie out of here, so we’re safe in the Lab.” You said, getting up. You then took the chain, with which Leo was still bound in your hand and lead Leo out of the Laboratory, like a dog on a leash. Leo then rushed back to the egg, still bound. You watched after him, glad he didn’t attack you again. Coming back inside you took Donnies arm and swung it around your shoulder, helping him up.
“Okay, Donnie, I’m gonna have to kick you out of your own Lab.” You spoke and Donnie chuckled quietly.
“That’s okay, as long as I don’t hurt you.” His head dropped on your shoulder. You smiled, even infected with a virus, he was still being considerate.
You were just out of the door when Donnies collapsed and pulled you down with him.
“Ah, shit.” You said, with his weight on you, you couldn’t get back inside. Hoping he wasn’t too far gone yet, you spoke to him.
“Donnie, could you maybe get up?” But he didn’t answer. You laid on your stomach, trying to crawl out from under his legs. You called out for Mikey but then you felt Donnie shift now laying completely on top of you, with you back to his plastron, you felt him breathing heavily against your neck.
“Why not stay with me, (y/n)?” he said and you felt his lips on your neck, his teeth slightly grazing your skin. Your eyes widened, there was no way out, you called for Mikey again.
“Mikey, close the door! Finish the antidote!” Mikey came rushing towards you, but you held up a hand to stop him.
“Listen, I’ll be fine, just finish it and get your brothers back to normal.” You said but then you felt Donnie cease his nibbling on your neck. He pulled up his head and looked at his brother. He then snarled and lunged for Mikey, which in turn squeaked and pressed the button to close the Lab door.
Donnie banged his fists against the metal, you got up from the floor. You didn’t know what to do. You weren’t sure he was still in there, or not. You decided to call his name softly. His body suddenly stopped moving at all and you got scared again, pressing your body back against the wall of the hallway. What if he attacked you, just like Raph and Leo had. But Donnie just turned around facing you, his expression unreadable.
He then started walking toward you, you started to sweat.
“Donnie? Come on, you’re scaring me, are you still in there?” you asked, your voice shaking. But he just kept walking. You backed away from him slowly, holding your hand out in front of you.
“Donnie, I swear, if you attack, I’ll knock you out.” You said with false confidence, knowing you couldn’t stop any of his advances. He then grabbed your wrists with his hands and pulled you towards him. You huffed out a breath as you hit his plastron. He was hugging you, his face in your neck again.
“You smell so good.” He said and you were relieved, so he was still in there. You hugged him back.
“You should join me, (y/n).” he mumbled against you and you wanted to answer but felt his teeth on your neck again. He bit down. It hurt and you let out a short shriek. He unlatched his teeth from you and began to lick the wound slowly, as if to apologize. But your mind began racing before you could lecture him about it.
Your body started to feel hot, you heartrate skyrocketing and you felt sweat begin to form on your forehead. What was going on? Donnie had explained to you, that it had been a mutant wasp that had stung Leo. You just assumed the infection would work the same for you as it did for them, but it seemed you thought wrong.
It was as if you could feel anything a hundred times more intense as before. The air around you seemed too thick to breathe, your clothes felt too heavy and you face felt like it was on fire. But worst of all, the places where Donatello was touching you seemed to tingle. His tongue on your neck sent shivers down your spine. You whimpered and Donnie raised his head to face you. He was so close.
“I’m sorry, but now you can stay with me.” He said and smiled softly. You couldn’t talk, your mouth felt dry so you just grabbed his neck desperately, hoping he would understand that you needed help. But as soon as your hand made contact with his skin you pulled back. His skin felt like lava and you groaned.
“Hey.” Donnie said, voice soft. “Let me take you to the others.” His hands came down and grabbed your hip, pressing you into the wall. You suppressed a moan. “Don’t worry, they won’t try to hurt you again.” His hands glid up the side of your torso and your eyes rolled back into your head. “I’ll make sure of it.” Then you felt his lips on yours. You couldn’t take it anymore, everything felt amazing and awful at the same time. His lips were moving against yours, you hummed into the kiss, your body burning up.
Hearing the sound you made, Donnie pressed his tongue against your lips. And even in your dazed state, you knew you wanted this. So, you opened your mouth, kissing him back. The kiss was frantic and at the same time so passionate, that your knees began to weaken.
You body felt like it had a mind on its own, you felt every bone in your body screaming at you to make more contact while at the same time feeling like you needed to pull back. His right hand pulled you closer to him by your waist while his left hand grabbed your neck.
Your knees finally gave out and you slumped to the floor, kneeling in front of him, his hand still holding you by the back of the neck. You were both breathing heavily. He then kneeled down too, holding eye contact with you. His eyes were blacked out. You hadn’t noticed at the beginning, but now you realized how dangerous he looked.
“Let’s go back.” He just said, picking you up from the floor with ease, carrying you towards the living room area. When you walked in, Raph and Leo turned to face you, scowling.
“Don’t worry, they’re with us.” Donnie said. Sitting down with you on his lap. The brothers gave you a look, but didn’t say anything more. It seemed like the egg was in the final stages of hatching. You hoped that Mikey would be finished creating the antidote soon, not because you were scared of being eaten, but because you yourself were hungry. Desire burning inside you. Your body temperature had risen to an unhealthy level. It felt like you been deprived of physical touch for ages. And every time Donnie would stroke your sides, while you sat in his lap, it felt like he was burning you.
When Donnie began to kiss the bite mark lightly, you whined. His hand came in front of your mouth.
“Just a few minutes more, then it will be over.” He whispered in your ear. He took your whining for anticipation, since he himself was excited for the wasp to finally hatch. But that was the last of your problems. Your stomach was aching. You let your head fall onto Donatellos shoulder while he continued kissing your wound.
You were gonna die. You would be eaten by a mutant wasp. You didn’t even tell Donnie how you felt about him yet.
The egg began to crack in that moment and three wasps exited the shell. This was the end. You closed your eyes.
But instead of feeling wasps eating away at you, you felt a prick in your neck. You eyes shot open. Mickey was standing a few feet away, looking proud.
“Told y’all I would safe you!” He yelled and you blinked. He was right, your body felt normal again. But before you could thank him the boys sprang up, with their weapons ready. Defeating one giant wasp after the other. When they finally all went down you sighed relieved.
Donnie came up to you then, rubbing his neck sheepishly. His brothers were still cheering and celebrating their victory.
“Hey.” He said, sitting down next to you.
“Hi.” You answered, not looking at him.
“Listen, (y/n)…I’m really sorry about what happened. I shouldn’t have texted you to get here, but I didn’t know it would turn into this.” He tried to explain. “And I know what I’m about to say is no excuse for what I forced upon you but…” he hesitated, you looked at him then. “-the infection causes everyone to smell really dangerous to the infected, so the host destroys any invader. And…-“ he paused again, trying to find the right words. “-my…my crush on you caused you to not smell dangerous, but rather really delicious.” His hand came up in front of his face. “So even though I didn’t really have control over myself, I should’ve seen this coming. I should’ve sent you away.” He ended his speech.
You tried to process what he had said and you stilled. ‘My crush on you’ Donnie had said.
Wait.
“You have a crush on me?” you asked. Donnie looked at you, he couldn’t believe what he just heard.
“That’s what you’re concerned with? I forced myself on you.” You furrowed your brows.
“Donnie, I reacted differently than you to the infection, my body felt super weird, it was like I was in heat or something.” You explained. He still looked puzzled, so you continued. “You didn’t do anything I didn’t want you to do, I have a crush on you, too.” You smiled at him when you saw how red his face became. “It just didn’t feel quite right, since I wanted to do these things with you….sober.” you said. Donatello looked thoughtful.
“I guess since you’re fully human, the mutant venom reacted differently with your- wait… you mean to tell me we can do those things again?” He grabbed your hand excitedly and you blushed.
“Yeah, let’s do that again, when we are not infected with anything.” Both of you chuckled and Donnie took a hold of your face.
“I’m looking forward to it.” He then leaned in and you kissed each other, fully conscious.
