alicent finally breaking free from the religious constructs taught throughout all her life. breaking free from the men who imposed their duty and their wishes upon her, until she lost her own self and had to find it again.
then thereβs rhaenyra who always chose to be free, and not let the wits of men win against hers, always controversial, now turning to the shackles of duty. stripping herself of hope and a peaceful ending in exchange to fulfill the role of a dutiful prophecy indirectly forced upon her.

ACOK prologue is not talked about enough and it honestly continues to haunt me despite being so short. to introduce a character (stannis) who was only previously mentioned as cold and harsh and unlikeable through the eyes of the one person that loves him and tragically tries to save him one last time β¦ is insane.
now that it's confirmed that alys and helaena are both tapped into the weirwood hive mind do you think they've been messaging each other all season long because me personally i'd like to think that alys gave helaena a front row seat to every single second of daemon's experiences of the Horrors
