Michael Kaiser, was a name that everyone knew, except for you. His only name that ever felt familiar to you was Mihya, not Michael, not Kaiser.

In every shade of blue, it was him that spoke to you. You had to give it to him, courting was the last thing you’d expect from the world’s rising star in football. From his monthly bouquets to weekly car rides that lead to no destination. You were with him, regardless. It was an aimless drive, with no target and no point equivalent.

When the weight of the world sits on your man’s shoulders, you are the only person who could give him an only escape. Hickeys in the back seat became normal. Marks left from the night’s blessing became a badge of how good you were to him. You said to yourself “Maybe this is what loving a man like him takes. Yes, he takes, and he takes while I leave with nothing.”

You loved him because you knew that no one else did from his past. Right, his goddamn past. It sometimes gives you the haunting what-ifs of his actions. When he pushes you away from a heated kiss, when he suddenly decides to leave you there in his bed after things get heated. You affirm to yourself, “Maybe it’s just his trauma speaking?”

And just when you decided to let go of your end of the rope. It was now he who needed your saving.

That’s where you find yourself right now, in his big game. The Neo-Egoist League was nearing its end with its final match against Bastard and PXG. And you sat there, with the big screens flashing your ex-suitor’s familiar blonde-blue hair, laser-sharp eyes, and with a scowl that could easily be wiped away by your smile.

Yet what you never expected was how the cameras pan to your section of the crowd, giving you that special spotlight. It was as if those moments were needed just for Kaiser to see you once again. This time, in a different light. You were now just an ordinary bystander, and he couldn’t stand that thought. He didn’t know what got to him at that moment, but something ignited in him.

Two consecutive goals in the 82nd minute. It was a product of you, a product of your presence. The cameras notice that he’s looking at something beyond the field. After scoring his final goal, he was sure, he was goddamn sure of himself that what he saw was you. He ran, and ran. Yet just when he found your spot, that was when you'd already left.

Wow, its the first time in a while that he’s called you by name. It was always Liebling or Schatz, but never your name. The very same name that he'd hoped to put a ring on someday. But those were naive dreams, weren't they? A wasted Mrs. Kaiser.

You could only crack a bittersweet smile. He’s looking for me, you thought. Yet your stubborn heart persisted with your thoughts. You don’t want him to come home to you anymore. He never had a home that could shelter him the way you did, you were sure of it. It was ironic how he’d search for you in the crowd.

But you know to yourself that you’ve walked away from him many months already. Coming back only meant tearing down the walls you’ve hastily built—a foundation bound to still be vulnerable from his touch.

You didn't dare turn around. Not until a hand was there to strongly grip your vulnerable wrist. It was cold and dry, just like the winter that he left you with. How could he catch up with you leaving the stadium? In this crowded street, where snowflakes fell hard to the concrete. You could see it in his eyes that he begged for someone, not for something. And that was you.

“Can we talk? ” He started, with sweat dripping down his temples as he controlled his panting. He was still wearing the same jersey he had for the game, and it was that same jersey that he chose over you, over this whole relationship.

Your stern expression, partnered with your silence, had suddenly eroded his strong resolve. “Please” was all that he could say. He was on his last straw, begging not to break by the force of your deafness. But who’s to say that you weren’t also breaking? And what is it now, with him? You didn't know if you were talking to the same Mihya many months before—the Mihya that willingly left your shared apartment, never to look back again.

“Why…now? Michael, why now? "You asked, pulling back your wrist that he desperately gripped; to your surprise, he had already loosened it.

“Don’t try to be a stranger to me y/n, that’s all I ask."

You scoff, “That’s all you ask? I should be the one telling you that. Go on, celebrate your big game, get intoxicated, get yourself off with some other woman.”

He takes another step forward, and you slowly see his own nonchalance cracking away with each word he lets out. “Maybe love does come first before soccer. Because I know damn well that my feet won’t drag me here if I was over you, huh? ”

And that was your last straw. “You’re full of bullshit-“

“I fucking know I am y/n. I’m not used to gentleness, I don’t know how to hold a heart and not break it, love is something alien to me. I bite and I don’t fucking know why.”

“Michael.”

“You know you don't call me that.”

You take a hesitant pause, “….. Mihya”

“Liebe” He called out instantly, desperate to say it out loud for your ears to once again reach.

He continued, “I wanna come home, but this time, I’m choosing to stay.”

kaiser's character is definitely vulnerable to love and relationships, and he often makes irrational decisions when it comes down to it, a very grand contrast to his dominant personality on the field.

the runecaster diaries - potential suitors

❀ inspired by the apothecary diaries ❀ [various! blue lock x fem! reader. royalty & magic au.]

By some twist of misfortune, you find yourself in the position of servant girl in Emperor Noa’s grand palace. Through a series of even more unfortunate events, you find yourself to be the general runecaster on the palace grounds, at the beck and call of all the potential heirs to cast whatever spells their hearts desire.

Emperor Noa's Court

❥ Lord Loki is the kind, benevolent overseer of the Gold Pavilion, where you currently reside. He’d interacted with you a few times during your time serving as an attendant in Snuffy’s residence, though he’d already developed a good impression of you thanks to Snuffy and Charles speaking highly of you. He often drops in on your training sessions with Charles (something the boy loves to repeatedly tell you he didn’t do in the past) and can be a bit prickly when the other heirs come into the Gold Pavilion requesting your services.

❥ Lord Itoshi— Sae, that is— is the overseer of the Jade Pavilion, and his cold, disinterested demeanor draws in suitors like moths to a flame until they are eventually met with his arrogant and condescending nature. It’s not often that you find yourself in the Jade Pavilion, but when you do, the task that he has requested your assistance with has less to do with casting and more to do with interrogation and piecing together parts of a mystery. During your debriefs following an investigation, it almost feels as though Lord Itoshi knows more than he lets on but withholds his knowledge for whatever reason, causing you to overexplain yourself and extend your stay.

❥ Lord Kaiser, the overseer of the Cerulean Pavilion, is equal parts adored and loathed by those residing in the palace, as well as the kingdom at large. His arrogance, like Lord Itoshi’s, is well-deserved, and his masterful mask carved from charisma has suitors throwing themselves at the doorway of his villa. Those within the palace know him for the cold, cruel individual that he is, though, and not even saving his life has earned you his respect. He begrudgingly allows his personal attendant and caster to request your help with certain spells, and insists that his lingering when you’re in the Cerulean Pavilion is just to ensure you don’t mess anything up. The more you’re requested to report to the Cerulean Pavilion, though, the more you realize that the tasks you’re assigned are ones that Alexis could handle just fine by himself— which always leaves you wondering why Lord Kaiser has assigned this to you in the first place.

❥ Knight Alexis is Lord Kaiser’s brilliant personal attendant, and the most skilled runecaster in the entire palace excluding those who are assigned to Emperor Noa. You’ve always admired his work from afar, keeping your dwindling skills sharp by trying to figure out what materials and casting methods he used in his spells during your time as an attendant. Working with him makes him even more impressive, though, and he often grows flustered when you watch him cast with wide eyes filled with admiration. You’d been warned by Grim in the past that Alexis tends to get territorial where his work and his lord are concerned, and though you’d gotten that impression at first, it’s hardly there anymore. He doesn’t mind working with you at all— if anything, he seems to perk up at the sight of you crossing into the Cerulean Pavilion, and loves to present his other projects to you for you to give feedback on (and, hopefully, to praise).

Emperor Ego's Court

❥ Lord Isagi is the shining hope of Emperor Ego’s heirs, the poster child of what every successor should strive to be. Polite, charming, skilled, and above all else, genuine, Isagi Yoichi is definitely your top pick for the throne, and you don’t even live in his kingdom. And just when you think he can’t get any better, you catch him heatedly arguing with Lord Kaiser in the Cerulean Courtyard— and winning. Lord Isagi spends a lot of time in the Gold and Ruby Pavilions, so it’s not uncommon for him to seek you out and ask to be trained in casting, since it’s his weakest point. You don’t think he’s giving himself enough credit, though; he’s a very quick learner and performs new spells almost as if he knows exactly what he’s doing, but checks with you to make sure he’s doing it right, just in case.

❥ Lord Itoshi— Rin, that is— is a picture-perfect snapshot of elegance, grace, and beauty, up until the point where he opens his mouth and proves to everybody in the palace that the condescension runs in the family. His behavior is incredibly similar to his brother’s, though he seems to be a bit more openly competitive and aggressive than Sae— at least, that’s the impression you develop of him when you run into him while carrying out an investigation for Sae that he insists he can perform and solve for his brother quicker than you can. Against your will, it ends up becoming a recurring thing, and at this point, you can’t tell if he’s seriously trying to solve the case faster than you, or if he’s actually trying to work with you. It’s not like you can ask him— you like him better when he’s being cooperative and would rather not piss him off, thank you very much.

❥ Lord Reo— Mikage, really, but he insists against being called that— is charismatic, sociable, and was raised to be royalty from the moment he was born. However, you hear from the servants of Ego’s other heirs that he’s a deeply jealous individual, which can sometimes be as inhibiting to him as it is encouraging. You bear witness to this when he’s prickly with you during your first meeting, obviously upset that his personal caster is cooking up the stupidest spells known to mankind with you rather than tending to his young master. However, things seem to smooth over after that, as he comes to be impressed with the work you get accomplished with Nagi, and even the work that you accomplish for him on your own— which he seems to be requesting you do more these days. Nagi often whines that you’re gonna replace him, which you think is a joke, until Lord Reo insists that two personal casters are better than one. Well, if he’s serious, he’ll have to take it up with Noa, you suppose.

❥ Lord Chigiri possesses the kind of beauty men start wars over, and his confidence in his skills and appearance only draws others in more. To your delight (and surprise— the prettiest heir around these parts is also the prickliest), he’s also rather friendly and loves gossiping, often bribing information about Noa’s heirs out of the palace attendants. You’re no exception to this, and the first time he requests your assistance, a spell that should only take a single morning to execute ends up taking the whole day because you’re too busy complaining to him about all the arrogant heirs and relaying to him your most dismal encounters with them. Your gossip sessions end up becoming a weekly meeting, disguised as “tune-ups” if the other heirs ask. Lord Reo ends up attending them at some point, and after overhearing a conversation between the two while actually working through a spell, you suspect that the two are scheming to convince Ego to try and get Noa to release you to their palace.

❥ Knight Bachira is a bundle of energy that you believe would fuel a million spells if he could be harnessed. Eccentric and cheerful, he somehow both contrasts and compliments Lord Isagi perfectly as his personal attendant. One day, when Lord Isagi approaches you with a private request, you’re surprised to learn that Bachira’s power doesn’t come from runecasting, but rather, from a curse— he was born with a demon latched onto his spirit, which had caused him and his mother to be exiled from their village. Bachira ends up becoming interested in you when start teaching Isagi spells meant to help Bachira control and coexist with the beast rather than suppress it. He can be a bit much to handle when you’re trying to carefully brew a spell, but you can’t bring yourself to be upset when his laughter never fails to brighten up your workshop.

❥ Knight Nagi is just as brilliant of a runecaster as Alexis is, though he has one fatal flaw: he’s lazier than a dog. Your first few assignments from Lord Reo are agonizing, as he doesn’t help you at all and you have to do the work of two casters all on your own. It’s not until he catches you crouching behind some bushes in the Gold Pavilion, cackling to yourself as you put together a new spell to be used in your and Charles’s escalating prank war, that you finally catch Nagi’s interest. After that, Nagi can often be spotted with you crouched over a brewing station, the overgrown man draped over you as you two bicker over which combination of ingredients would yield the most sinister effects.

"your game is in five minutes, what are you doing here!?" you hiss, the whisper turning into a shout when kaiser runs barreling into you. "michael kaiser!"

everything is oddly silent; the birds aren't chirping, the soccer fans' shouts only a distant murmur— it's as if the world's slowed down, stopping into a freeze frame.

even your boyfriend, the renowned star player, is quiet. he leans forward to place his head on top of yours, his arms wrapping around your waist.

you can only sigh, knowing this weird outburst is caused by the petty fight you had earlier.

"i'm sorry, alright?" the words catch, his speech slightly stiff, so unlike the smooth drawl kaiser's known for. it's as if his pride has bound a leash on his words, pulling them back down into the crevices of his heart.

your lover hides his face in your hair, sniffing the scent of your shampoo every now and then. he waits for your reply, and you can feel his heart hammering against your own chest with how tight he's holding onto you.

"i know i'm an asshole for apologizing this way, and i'm sorry," he whispers, his lips moving against your forehead. "can you forgive me, liebling?"

you stay quiet, watching as he slowly moves to face you, his hair a mess and his eyes tinted red.

your eyes trail over his face, taking in his tired visage. and maybe it's the doubt swimming in your eyes, or the hesitance plastered on your expression but kaiser sighs, lifting his hand only to drop it back to his side the next second.

"i know i can't undo the things i said," he mumbles, lips downturned and eyes plastered to the ground, "but i couldn't go out there pretending like everything's fine when the person that matters most isn't cheering for me in their usual spot."

you bite your lip, trying to keep the smile that's threatening to bloom at bay. even if it's only an excuse to be let off the hook, kaiser's always been creative with his words. a closeted romantic under all that suave and charm.

"what do you say, mein liebling?" there's a hint of a smile on his face, his eyes molding into your beloved puppy eyes. the piece of resistance he always uses, knowing you can't resist. "you can hit me all you want back at home. just cheer for me, please?"

please isn't a word kaiser normally uses and when it slips past his lips, you come to understand just how desperate he really is.

"okay," you whisper, body instinctively leaning forward in search of his warmth. "but we still need to talk after your game."

kaiser nods, his expression clearing like the sun after a rainy day. he doesn't move, doesn't walk, doesn't talk, and the silence that comes after is nothing but a loving embrace.

"you didn't braid my hair this morning," kaiser says after his eyes trail from the tip of your hair to the end of your toes and back. "you skipped out on our routine."

you snort, chuckling a little when he tilts his head, indirectly asking for you to braid his hair.

"i could barely look you in the face without punching you this morning," you mumble. the strands of his hair are smooth in your hands, and your fingers pull them into braids as if weaving through the finest silk. "your hair's really soft."

"i used your shampoo," kaiser grins shyly, like a giddy schoolboy who's just confessed. there's a hint of a blush on his cheeks, the skin reddening the longer you braid and compliment his hair. "missed your scent and all that."

you laugh at his words, indirectly letting him know whatever storm was brewing has passed. you press a quick kiss on his cheek, letting his hair fall down his back in braids. "go get 'em, hotshot."

kaiser goes on to score five goals in the match, blowing multiple kisses to you after every single one.

A/N: I want him so bad, the constant flirting with MC? The way his eyes soften at her? I'm in love with him so bad.

“Where is she?” He's already isolated you for Yangyang, bringing you into his domain.

 It's unnerving, standing alone with a man you've seen cause so much trouble, someone who constantly is trying to get into your head.

The comments he makes, there are so many of them and they just keep coming. 

Is he lying about wanting you? Lying about wanting your trust? Is this just a ploy to get you on his side? 

You're not sure, your brain can't deny that this is a trap, he trapped you, but your brain can't deny that he's looking at you with a soft gaze that you're sure he's never graced another human with. He looks like he simultaneously wants to eat you alive and protect you like he claims.

Scar himself stands a few feet away, arms crossed as his eyes trail along your form, starting from your feet, lingering a bit on your chest until finally meeting your eyes. You swear you can see a twinkle in his eye, and he doesn't even remotely try and hide the way he licks his lips at you, a predator grin making it's way on his handsome face.

“Oh come on Rover, she'll be fine~”

“I'm not doing this with you, give her back.” You steel yourself, hand resting on the scabbard of your sword, ready for him to attack.

To your surprise, he knocks his head back and laughs, shaking his head, the movement jostling his locks. He turns back to you, moving closer, step by step.

“Look at that, that fire in your eye is mesmerizing Rover, you're that concerned with a woman who only wants to use you?” He coos, voice mimicking how an adult talks to a child and you feel small, taking a small step back but the distance still closes, he's not letting you get away.

“What are you even-” You can't help the flush that rushes to your face, your head dizzy at the proximity. The body heat radiating off of him is jarring, but not as jarring as his smell. He smells of ash and burnt wood, and a mix of his own natural scent and it feels warm and safe. For the first time since you've woken up, you feel protected, despite him being the enemy. The same one who the nation you're supposed to protect hates.

"Say my name.” He's leaning down now, was he always this tall?

“W-” He cuts you off, grabbing your jaw with one hand, squeezing your cheeks ever so slightly, only releasing to brush a strand of hair behind your ear.

“Say it, Rover.” His face is so fucking close, you can feel his breath tickling your face.

"Scar." You breathe out, your head spinning, this is wrong, you shouldn't have let him get this close, you need to get out and find Yangyang, what the fuck are you doing?

His heterochromatic eyes are beautiful already, but the way they're so dilated, barely any of his color is shown.

"I'm not following."

"How do I know you're gonna keep your word?"

"You don't, but I don't think that's gonna stop you." He coos again, moving to trail one of his hands down your back, pushing you closer to his body, your chests both heaving and resting on one another.

He's right, as of right now, there is absolutely nothing that will stop you from this, from giving in just this once.

You lean in first, shutting your eyes tight.

It's Scar who does the rest, crashing into you like a wave, trying to consume you.

He kisses you like you're long lost lovers, pouring so much passion into the kiss that you can't ever hope to return, so when he pushes you up against the rock, you know this'll be a reoccurring occurrence. It's addicting, the feeling of his lips finally on yours, all the tension finally reaching a climax. His tongue is damn near down your throat, swallowing down your moans as much as he could, his hands gripping your hips so hard, you wouldn't be surprised if it left a mark later (a small part of you hope he does).

It takes everything in your power to pull away, but the second you do, he moves to start licking at your neck, you can feel his canines run along a specific patch of skin that makes your legs weak. You place a hand on his chest, trying to gently push him away.and when that doesn't work, you bring your other hand up to run your fingers through his locks and tug him away.

The groan he lets out is downright sinful. He looks up at you, his expression as if he just fucked you within an inch of your life, his hair mussed, his lips glossy from your combined spit.

"Was that good enough?"

"Oh honey, you're lucky I don't take you right here. But I am a man of my word." He hums, licking his lips and letting out a snicker. With a shocking gentleness, he pecks your lips one last time.

"Wake up now."

"Rover! Rover! Are you okay?" Yangyang has your head on her lap, one of her palms on your forehead, feeling the warmth there.

All you can do is groan and bring a hand to your face, covering your cheeks.

"What'd he do to you in there?"

"I don't want to talk about it."
