Short thing. I'm not at home right now. Might developp this later. (7/07/2023) (678 words)
"Is this seat taken ? Ask Ethan, your classmate whom you never really talked to.
He wasn't pointing any seat in particular but there was plenty of free space. Which made you question why he was asking permission in the first place if no one was here.
-No don't worry." You answer by pure politeness.
Ethan smiles before walking towards you and finally seat.
"Ethan...
Now what the hell was that ?
-Yes ?
-That is my tighs you are seated on.
-But you said it was free."
Why is this grown man seated on your thighs ? With his whole adult man weight. He's crushing you !
But he doesn't see the problem, or simply ignore it as he smiles sheepishly at you. Your hands were at each sides of his body, not touching him. The book you were previously reading still in your hand.
What are you even supposed to do in a situation like this ?
"Ethan can you get off me ?"
He shakes his head and wraps his arms around your head. Placing the latter on your shoulder. What the hell ? You don't even know that guy !
A few people were entering the library every minutes and in passing, they'd look at the both of you. Some with a disgusted look, other with a fond one. Now everyone will think you have a thing for him ! And you do not !
The picture of your crush suddenly flash in your head. They'll think you're with Ethan ! You're not a cheater ! You'd never date two person at the same time !
Your crush, whom you were talking with for months now, was soon to be your partner at this point.
"Ethan seriously get off me, you're really weird."
He doesn't budge. If he doesnt let you go now, you're doomed. You like your crush ! You don't want him to ruin everything!
"Ethan !
-But why ?" He asks while rubbing his face on your neck.
You look at him in disbelief. Not quite believing he doesn't see any problem in hugging someone you barely know out of nowhere.
You push him with every strength you have in you. He ends up falling on the seat next to you, wrapping his legs around your waist, he forces you to fall with him. You place your hands on each sides of his head to avoid falling. Ethan is beet red.
You scoff, trying to get up back but Ethan put his hand behind your head and pull you to him. Without warning, he kisses you. He kissed you so hard your teeth clenched against each others and you're sure you're bleeding from the lip.
You back your head instantly, wiping your lips with your hand while giving a death look at Ethan.
"What the fuck is wrong with you ?" Your words had venom in them. You were fuming. Who this guy thought he was ?
But when you look at him, he just smiles mysteriously. As if he knows something you don't. No remorse or anything.
And it's looking at the window giving on the hallway that you understand why he's happy.
Your crush is walking at a brisk pace in the opposite direction. Your body freeze. They saw you. How do you explain everything? That a man came to kiss you just like that ? Nobody will believe you ! And he knows that.
Its as if Ethan knew your crush would come here.
You get off him, not without forcing it. (Him clenching his legs around you to keep you here was hard to beat.)
You hate him. Without sparing him a glance, you quickly pack your things and throw everything in your bag. Rushing to the direction your crush went.
Your crush hate you and now everyone will think of you as a cheater. You're sure he did it on purpose. But why ? You don't know him ! You just share a few classes with him. Why would he do that ? You sigh, massaging your face with your hands.
He ruined everything.
Delivery driver reader is just so fun to think about for me, especially if they're aware of the yanderes on their route, but they really need the money so they just have to learn how to avoid those houses.

You: You fool! [Sprints to the car as the door opens]

SUMMARY: The day has finally come for Eddie to meet your parents.
GENRE: fluff, Wheeler!Reader
"Mom, she's not a kid anymore. It's not like Eddie is.. terrible." Nancy says with a supportive tone that slightly falters at the last word. Nancy wasn't necessarily approving of your relationship, but it wasn't like she had a say being your younger sister.
Mike was a different story. Part of him was secretly stoked because he worshipped Eddie in a way. The other part, the majority, was absolutely pissed at him. So, mike rolls his eyes while setting the table.
"I know. I'm just-" Karen sighs and puts a hand on her hip.
"I worry about her judgement sometimes. I heard some not-so-great things about this Eddie Munson." Ted clears his throat and pours a glass of wine. Karen eyes him, frustrated with his lack of concern over your dating choices.
"He's not all bad, you'll see." Nancy gives a reassuring smile. You come down the stairs wearing a dress nancy had never seen you in befo- was that hers? Nancy silently groans at you and you stick your tongue out at her.
The doorbell then rings and you run to it, excitedly opening up to see a moderately cleaned up Eddie. His hair was brushed, sort of, and he wore a button down he'd bought at a second hand store with jeans. He smiles wide, cupping your cheek and giving you a quick peck.
Your mom drags everyone to the door to greet poor Eddie. She's taken aback by the metal head's hair but quickly pushes the thought to the side.
"Mr and Mrs, Wheeler! It's a pleasure." Eddie says with excitement, shaking both of their hands. His gaze travels down to a shy Holly, hiding behind Karen. He reaches out his hand with a genuine grin.
"M'lady." She giggles and shakes his hand shyly.
Karen ushers him inside. Nancy gives a polite wave and Eddie ruffles Mike's hair. You hold Eddies hand and guide him next to your spot at the dining table, but he pulls out your chair for you before sitting down.
"You've got a wonderful home." Eddie compliments, his hand settling on your thigh. He was doing great. You knew he would, he was nervous but not enough to throw off his charm. Your mom thanks him, clearly surprised by all of his manners.
"I'll set out dinner now, help yourself to some water or w- how old are you again?" He answers, 20, and she shakes her head.
"No wine then, excuse me." Eddie stands up.
"Should I give you a hand?" Her face lights up, not even Jonathan had been this polite when she'd met him. She nods and smiles, showing him to the kitchen. Mike gives you a tired look, clearly not happy with the show Eddie was putting on. You scrunch your nose at him.
-
The night could not be going better. Well, maybe he'd be better off without a few of the jokes he made, but other than that, perfect.
"So, Eddie. You're head of the club Mike is in?" She takes a sip of wine.
"Yes ma'am, the Hellfire Club." Karen and Ted pause, looking at Mike who had a guilty look on his face.
"You didn't tell us it was called that, Micheal."
"You would have never let me join if I did!" He defends, looking frustrated with Eddie.
"You're right! It sounds like some kind of cult..." Karen looks questioningly at Eddie. He starts to sweat, so you set your hand on his in attempt to calm him down a bit. Mike's gonna get an earful from you later...
"It's not ma'am. Just a silly name for a D&D club." He calmly states with a lighthearted chuckle. She looks slightly relieved.
"Do you often play children's games?" Your dad says sounding disapproving of this newfound fact. You can see your mom kick him underneath the table.
"Sometimes. I think we all need to nurture out inner child." Karen smiles and nods.
"You know, that is actually very insightful, I like that"
-
Your parents and you walk Eddie to the door, wishing him a safe drive home while he tries to block the sight of his beat up van.
"Dinner was delicious, thank you. Have a great night!" He says his goodbye and you step outside with him.
"You think they liked me?" He asks. You just pull him in for a long kiss.
"Absolutely." You say, brushing your lips against his.
"You're right. I nailed it!" He replies cockily and kisses you again, promising to meet you at your window tonight.
All in all, your mother still did not fully approve. She had to admit, he was quite the gentleman. However she couldn't get past the fact that he flunked his senior year, twice. Ted seemed indifferent but secretly liked him a lot and cut him some slack in the discussions proceeding the dinner. Mike was not looking forward to seeing him around the house, especially not after getting his mom upset at him.

___ ___ ___ ___ ___
Youâd known Eddie Brock a good while by this point. Youâd started dating him a while back, and while he put others on edge, youâd found the way he talked to himself out loud rather charming, actually.Â
At first, you werenât sure if he was just unmedicated, or undiagnosed. But then the news broke about the symbiote, and then there was the footage. And when Eddie started coming home right after news broke of some other attack or taking out of a bad guy or criminal or whoever, youâd put two and two together.Â
It was kind of hard not to. Particularly as his conversations with himself could vary from topic to topic in the span of six words or less.
Â
Eddie had asked to meet up for lunch today at your favourite restaurant. Heâd seemed a bit off on the phone, and given how prone you were to anxiety, your immediate thought had been that he was breaking up with you and that youâd done something to upset him or his bodily guest- who you did not officially know about, of course.Â
Youâd gotten there early to prepare yourself for whatever shitshow was about to follow and to your immense surprise, Eddie had shown up pretty much right after you. Eddie was always running late, so this change in pace was also mildly concerning. You were not sure how this was going to go and you did not like that one bit.Â
âYouâre here early, too,â Eddie had said, swallowing thickly and avoiding eye contact. You nodded, and cleared your throat, gesturing for him to sit down at the table opposite you.Â
âYeah, I wanted to make sure we had a spot,â you replied, smoothing down your shirt. Bit of a nervous habit. That and ripping at your nails, but that was beside the point.Â
âRight,â Eddie replied.Â
And then the two of you lapsed into silence. You spent a good five to ten minutes appearing to read over the menu as if this wasnât a regular spot for you and you didnât know exactly what you were going to order. In fact, youâd be surprised if the cooks werenât already making it up for you even though a waiter hadnât come over yet.Â
âShut up,â Eddie hissed quietly. You peered over the menu to eye him curiously, one brow arced in question.Â
âI didnât say anything, Eddie.âÂ
âYeah, I know. I- uh, thatâs what I wanted to talk to you about, actually,â he said, rubbing the back of his neck. You hummed, and put the menu down to give him your attention.Â
âAbout me shutting up?âÂ
âNo- God, this is not going at all like I planned.â Eddie rubbed a hand over his face and sighed.Â
You said nothing, waiting patiently for him to work out his wording.
Â
âI really like you,â he started, and you nodded, replying with the same sentiment. âAnd, well, thereâs something Iâve been hiding from you.â
Â
âRightâŠâ This is where you expected him to tell you he was married (doubtful but not impossible) or had cancer or something terrible. Dear God, please no.Â
âLook- youâve seen on the news, yes, the, uh- the attacks. Yeah?âÂ
You nod. Ah, so he was finally telling you about his friend living literally rent-free in his body. Okay, you could relax a little.Â
âHeâs me. Venom, he lives in my body. Heâs in my head. Like, all the time. Right now.âÂ
Eddie looked at the table where he was picking at the tablecloth. You were silent for a second, and Eddie clearly took that to mean you were horrified or disgusted or something. You were a little nervous about it, sure, but youâd also been living with him for the last few months. If Venom was planning to take you out, he would have done so by now, surely. You figured this to mean you were safe enough. Youâd also seen your fair share of monster porn, so you werenât exactly unkeen on the idea of dating someone who sometimes had a monster body. It was kind of hot, actually. You shook the thought out of your head and tried to focus.
âOh, yeah- I knew about that,â you replied, and the way Eddieâs head snapped towards you was almost comical.Â
âYou what?â
Â
âYeah, I figured that out a while ago. I was just waiting for you to tell me in your own time.â
Â
Eddie blinked, and a black residue appeared on the back of his hand. It swirled and gathered on his hand before reaching for you delicately. You met it, brushing your finger over it softly. The goop (for lack of a better word) seemed to shiver pleasurably and you smiled.
Â
âCan I meet him later?âÂ
Eddie nodded, watching the interaction with disbelief. Heâd thought that youâd go running and screaming through the doors or something, not be rubbing your fingers over Venom like you were fingering some Play-Doh.Â
âY-yeah, later,â he agreed. âNot here. When we get home.â
Â
You grinned and the black substance retreated back into Eddieâs skin as a waiter appeared by your table.Â
âWhat can I get for you? The regular?âÂ
You looked at Eddie and clicked your tongue thoughtfully.Â
âThe usual with a serving of chicken nuggets on the side, please.â
Â
The waiter nodded, scribbled it own on his pad and wandered off in the direction of the kitchen. Eddie looked at you in question. He knew you werenât big on nuggets.Â
âTheyâre for Venom,â you explained, propping your head up on your palm. Eddie looked to the side as if listening to something carefully.Â
âVenom says thank you-â Eddie said before cutting himself as Venom said something else in his head. âNo, Iâm not saying that. No. No.âÂ
âSay what?â
Eddie sighed defeatedly- something you think he did a lot when it came to Venom.Â
âVenom said he could kiss you right now.â Eddie looked mortified as the words left his mouth. You burst into laughter.Â
âIs that a threat or a promise? I hope itâs a promise,â you replied, wiggling your eyebrows at the two of them.Â
Eddie swallowed thickly and blushed as Venom said something else. Youâd have to see if Venom could swap hosts sometime. It would be nice to have a conversation while out and about like that.Â
âPromise,â Eddie replied.Â
Good.
I am so invested ??

Link stroked your hair gently, staring down at your peaceful face as your head rested in his lap.
It had been so long since he had seen your face bereft of fear or hate or the intense look you had when fighting something. Seeing you through the eyes of monsters was like a weak bandage applied to a broken bone â it only healed surface-level damage and did nothing for the pain beneath.
Watching you from the eyes of monsters didnât do much to quell the fire within him, but it was the best he could do given the circumstances. The infernal princess was holding him back, just like she had done all those years ago when all he wanted was to take you into his arms and comfort you. Dry your tears. Hold you in his arms as the world collapses around the two of you.
He didnât care much about Hyrule or what little it had to offer â all he wanted was you, you, you, and while you might be a little afraid of him now and might hate him here at this moment, Link was sure that a few years with no one else for company would change your mood.
Youâd learn to love him again just like you had done all those years ago when you chattered to him to get him to open up. When you bandaged his wounds and scolded him for being reckless. When you covered him in fights defending that useless princess.
You were everything he wanted and more, and soon, heâd be free.
Free to take you into his arms and love you until you could breathe nothing but his love.
âSoon.â
.
The Lynel watched you as you made your way down the North Akkala Foothill. It wasnât in the usual threatening stance Lynels generally stood in when anyone encroached on their territory, and you eyed it wearily. The more intelligent part of you knew that Link and the Calamity were watching you through the creatureâs eyes, and you tried to pay it no mind, but the shiver running up your spine told it exactly what you were feeling. You had just left the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab after buying a few bundles of Ancient Arrows to help defeat the scourge of Vah Naboris and were now just wandering aimlessly.
âHe knows,â you couldnât help but think as you glanced back to the Lynel to see it still watching you, posture stiff but not threatening. âLink and the Calamity know I came to get more Ancient Arrow, and they know I was going to Naboris straight after.â
Your hand skipped to the blade on your back; the creature made no move to attack or do anything other than stare at you.
âI think I prefer being attacked than watched.â
There was no way you could conquer any of the remaining Divine Beasts â the Calamity was probably already prepared for your arrival, and you didnât want to risk it â you could wait another day or so until you went up to do battle with them.
Taking out the Sheikah Slate, you clicked a random shrine in the Hateno area and braced yourself for the warp.
After successfully landing, you made your way away from the more civilised areas and towards Firly Plateau, where youâd make your camp for the night. The Great Plateau was another choice to stay at, but you couldnât bear it.
The Great Plateau was where you had woken up after a century of sleep, and while it was beautiful and the perfect place to gather your bearings, you hated it. There wasnât anyone there to tell you about what happened all those years ago since the late king didnât think it was wise for you to know just yet â you never liked him for how he treated Zelda, but this made your dislike grow stronger: Who was he to decide these things for you?
The silence and isolation of that plateau made you feel worse, and you remembered leaving it as soon as you could, unable to bear the silence for a moment longer, and your fair land of Hyrule was far more comforting than the silence up there. Yes, the various wildlife and monsters up there spaced out the dreadful silence, but there were no people, no travellers, no friendly faces you could occasionally converse with when you needed supplies.
Now that the king was gone, there was no one else up there, and you didnât quite fancy being the only Hylian up there, so to Firly Plateau, you went.
The afternoon had passed to the evening when you eventually arrived, and you barely had enough energy to bring out your bedroll from the slate and to start a fire with a bundle of wood and a piece of flint, but you somehow managed. Lying down, you flicked through the slate, idly taking note of what you had that would be useful in your fight with the Divine Beasts.
The one haunting Naboris would most likely be the most difficult to defeat. It led you to buy many bundles of Ancient Arrows from Robbie and Cherry, and you had decided to use them with your Savage Lynel bow, which somehow fired multiple arrows despite consuming only one. You didnât understand it but werenât about to look a gift horse in the mouth, as the saying went.
Medoh would most likely be easier to defeat, and your shock arrows and ice arrows would make it easier for you to close in for the kill, and your mighty elixirs would hopefully help you deal more damage when it came time for melee combat with the beasts.
Sighing, you returned the slate to your wait and turned to look up at the stars.
âThe stars are quite beautiful.â
Jumping, you whipped around to see Zelda â Zelda, Zelda, Zelda â sitting on the log across from you. Your mouth opened and closed several times as you fumbled with what to say to her.
You had planned to say so much when you finally rescued her, but seeing her in front of you, a golden projected image of herself and not the real her, you didnât know what to say.
You settled for staring at her, your eyes greedily drinking her form in as this was the first time you saw her in decades.
âI⊠They are beautiful,â you managed after a while, and she smiled at you, making your heart flutter.
She was still wearing the same tailored robes she had been wearing to the Spring of Wisdom a hundred years ago when the Calamity had burst free, and you felt less than her in your Sheikah Armour set⊠but that didnât matter â you werenât alone!
âI miss you,â you said after a moment of silence, and the blonde smiled.
âI miss you too.â
You scooted to her at her words and raised your hand, unsure of your movements, but Zelda moved too.
Her hand came to hover near yours, fingertips brushing yours gently.
She wasnât solid, and you werenât sure how to describe it, but the best you could explain was that it felt like walking through water. And she was so warm, unlike Daruk and Mipha, who were so cold.
âHow are you holding up?â you found yourself asking, unsure of what to say, what to ask your best friend of many years. You couldnât even remember the last full conversation you had with her in person other than the warnings she sent you telepathically.
âIâm well.â
You raised an eyebrow, scoffing at that. âZel, you and I both know thatâs a lie.â
Zelda smiled again, and it stabbed at your heart.
âIt is rotten work, but itâs what Iâm destined to do,â she said before turning her gaze to meet your eyes, âand how fares your quest?â
You exhaled heavily, reluctantly tearing your gaze from her form and staring into the fire and sighed, rubbing at your eyes.
Zeldaâs suddenly solid hand cupped your cheek and turned your face back to hers, and you couldnât help it. You broke down into sobs.
You hadnât realised just how touch-starved you were until her gentle hold on your cheek sent all the hastily but carefully built walls inside of you tumbling down, and you wept in the arms of the only person in Hyrule who possibly understood what you were going through.
Zeldaâs arms around you were a wall blocking out the rest of the world, and all you could hear were her gentle, soothing noises and her heartbeat.
It was so strange that his projected image of your best friend had a heartbeat.
You wanted nothing more than to drown yourself in her heartbeat, the unshakeable safety that her arms brought, and the soft sound of her voice murmuring into your hair.
Eventually, your tears dried up, and you pulled away, furiously rubbing at your eyes.
âIâm sorry you had to see that,â you whispered, trying to make yourself presentable, but she only smiled gently.
âY/N, you had seen worse from me all those years ago,â her voice rang with honesty, but you couldnât remember for the life of you. Though, what you had gleaned from your conversations and interactions with the late king of Hyrule, you figured that the man wasnât the best father even though he may have been a better king.
âStill, you came all this way, and I started crying on you. What kind of a friend am I?â you joked, and she smiled again, shaking her head gently.
âYou know Iâve been watching over you when I can.â
You nodded, feeling a flare of warmth in your chest at her words. The weight of her gaze watching you occasionally brought much comfort to you, and it was so unlike the cold stare of the various monsters that roamed the land and Linkâs hungry gaze that shined through the coldness of the monstersâ eyes.
âI always felt that you staying away from civilian areas was so noble of you,â Zeldaâs hands came to clasp yours gently, âyou were always trying to do what was right by others, never being selfish.â
You flushed, glancing away bashfully, before turning your gaze back to her.
âIâm only trying to keep them safe. They shouldnât suffer for my mistakes.â
The princessâs green gaze hardened, and you felt a shiver run down your spine.
âThis wasnât your fault.â She spoke firmly, the golden light flickering around her pulsed brighter for a moment. âI know it, Mipha knows it, and Daruk knows it. The only one who doesnât know it is you.â
You sighed, heart weighed down by everything that had happened. âI canât help but feel it is. I wish I had known then what I know now.â
Zelda hummed, rubbing a thumb over your knuckles.
âIâve spent decades wishing the same,â she spoke, and you flinched slightly â how could you have forgotten that sheâd spent a century fighting this fight while you had rested. âBut thereâs nothing I can do to change it, and thereâs nothing you could have done to change what happened.â
She was right.
You had thought these same thoughts and turned them around in your mind, mulling over them like you did when waiting for an omelette to crisp up nicely in the pan before it was ready, but hearing it for Zelda, Zelda, Zelda, seemed to confirm it.
Zelda had spent so long fighting, and who better to confirm those thoughts than the one currently holding the Calamity and Link at bay?
âYouâre right.â You said eventually, and she smiled, warming your heart. âI just wish there was some way I could physically help youâŠ.â
âOh, Y/N,â Zeldaâs soft expression made your heart flutter as her hand came to cup your cheek gently. âContinuing to fight inspires me, and that is enough.â
Sitting under the twinkling stars with the one you cared for so deeply made your heart swell with hope, and hope continued to flourish as the campfire embers slowly died during the night.
.
Zelda startled, coming back to her senses.
She was back inside her and the Calamityâs prison and sighed gently, rubbing her upper arms for warmth even though it didnât do anything. It was neither cold nor warm here, and it was always dark asides from when she used her powers. The only thing that broke in the darkness where the handful of disembodied eyes surrounding the fallen champion of Hyrule.
âI see you went to see our beloved.â Linkâs voice broke the silence, and a coil of anger curled around Zeldaâs heart.
âOur beloved? Oh please, you donât love them.â She snapped back, barely restraining her anger, but it was true: Link didnât love you, not like she did.
Link merely wanted to have you; otherwise, he wouldnât have fallen to the Calamityâs machinations. If the swordsman had truly loved you, he would have stayed on the true path and courted you the traditional way instead of dooming all their friends and Hyruleâs populace to a miserable fate.
âAh yes, because you know what love is,â Link scoffed, and she clenched her fists. âSheâs not yours either.â
âThen-â
âShe wouldnât have chosen you,â Link taunted, but Zelda held back her fury â she knew what he was doing, and it wouldnât work. Frantically, she forced the memory of comforting you in her arms into her mindâs eye. âYou were only a means to an end.â
âAh, yes, because youâve known her for as long as I have,â she shot back, restraining her fury.
Think of Y/N. Think of her smile. Think of her voice. Think of Y/N-
âWhy would she want you? Having to deal with the conformity of royalty and those rules-â
âWhat could you have offered her? The life of a housewife waiting on a husband whose constantly away? You and I both know how those stories end.â
That must have hit a sore spot for the swordsman, judging by his twitch.
âYouâre acting as if Iâd stay and play protector for you back then; Iâd have done anything to make her happy.â
Zelda raised an eyebrow, âAnd dooming her to this fate is making her happy?â
Link fell silent, and Zelda hummed, thinking.
What exactly did the Calamity promise to Link all those years ago? The blond was always resolute, so what had made him fall?
A proper conversation with the man himself was needed before going forward.
Raising a hand, her power glowed, destroying the malice, maws and eyes around the swordsman.
âLink, please listen,â she began. âItâs about Y/N.â
He turned to face her head-on, both eyes their usual blue rather than one being taken over by malice.
âWhat did the Calamity promise you?â
Link scoffed, âYou already know that it promised me Y/N after it took over-â
âDo you really think itâll keep its word?â
Link fell silent, eyeing her as he turned her words over in his head.
âWhere are you going with this?â
âDo you?â she prompted.
âYes.â
âY/N and I wonât stop fighting, ever. You know her well enough to know she isnât going to give up easily. This story ends with your defeat, whether tomorrow or the next year â you know how this ends.â
Link stiffened, eyes staring straight through her, but Zelda continued.
âBut, if you join us, I can guarantee I will advocate for your forgivenessâŠ.â
Zelda could almost see the cogs turning in his head and pushed forward.
âIâm not willing to let her go, and I doubt you are⊠But if we joined togetherâŠ.â
âY/N would be ours.â
âExactly.â

summary: youâre new at hawkins high, and the hellfire club practically kneel at your feet.
warnings: language, fluff to the max. just short and sweet:)
a/n: iâm turning this into a series! part two is here
This feeling, this one right here, was the worst. There you stood, front of the cafeteria, tray in your hands as you observed the crowd. You could see each cliché friend group at each table. Towards the left, were the jocks and their cheerleader girlfriends. There were students who held instruments and taped up glasses. There were a few tables that barely had anyone sitting there, a couple quiet kids. On the right, were the students who actually gave a damn about grades, their books cracked open as they studied mid-chew.
Having Military parents was difficult for you, especially with the constant moving. If anything, it was the worst thing about it. Any friends you made were short lived, so as the years went on and you got older, you purposely tried to avoid making friends. Your eyes then settled on a table that made you curios. Youâd never heard of that clichĂ© group before. Hellfire club?
It was a group of boys, chattering away with smiling faces and waving their hands in dramatics. Oh well, you thought, and made your way toward their table.
âSo, instead of finding a sub for him, you want to postpone?â
âJust for the week! Just until the championships are over!â
âOh no, I see how it is. Sinclair has obviously been taken in by the dark side,â
âCan I sit here?â
Eddie, and the rest of his hellfire crewâs eyes immediately snapped to the sound of your voice, widening at you, a girl, who stood at the end of the table. âUh, sorry?â Mike gulped.
You grew red at the obvious disturbance that you had caused, swallowing roughly. âSorry, itâs just- well, Iâm new here and I wondered if I could- but itâs okay! Iâll just-â
âWait, wait, wait,â Eddie snapped his fingers, turning the spotlight on him. âHere.â He patted the seat next to him, shoving Dustin over one. âForgive us our manners, my lady, itâs not everyday a creature asâŠlovely as you graces us with your presence.â You chuckled awkwardly, sitting down next to him as you glanced at everyone.
âThank you.â You nodded to everyone. âIâm y/n.â
âEddie.â He held out his hand for you to shake, leaning on his other elbow with a curious gleam in his eye. He was trying to sniff you out, because no woman ever just sat with them. Surely, you had to be just like every preppy girl at that forsaken high school. Why would you choose them out of everyone?
You shook his hand, smiling softly as his brown eyes smiled back. âAnd Iâm Dustin!â Your eyes widened as the curly, short haired boy shoved Eddieâs hand out of yours, grasping your own tightly.
âHi, Dustin.â You kept in your chuckle.
âAnd Iâm Mike!â
Eddie rolled his eyes as everyone about the table took their sweet time with shaking your hand, marveling at the fact they were touching a girls hand. âYou guys are very welcoming.â You tucked a hair behind your ear. âBut please, donât let me interrupt, just ignore me.â You smiled, picking up your jelly sandwich.
You were mid-chew, staring down at your hands as the loud chatter of the cafeteria flooded your ear. You glanced up and froze, everyoneâs eyes on you. You gulped.
Gareth and Jeffâs mouthâs hung open, faces pressed into their hands as they stared at you. Dustin thought you were cutest thing heâd ever laid eyes on, even more so than Madonna. And Eddie, dear god, was practically drooling at the mouth. He looked like a damn cartoon character with hearts for eyes, watching you as you grew red. There was something so- innocent about you, youthful. You had no idea how hated they were at that school.
âUh,â You placed down the sandwich. âYou want some?â Your words muffled from your mouthful, and Eddie chuckled, everyone else doing the same.
âWeâre just waiting for the punchline, sweetheart.â Eddie kicked back in his chair, stretching his arms out. âYou see, your with the freaks of Hawkins High. The devil worshipers.â
âSee!â Dustin pushed out his chest, pointing to his hellfire shirt.
âYeah, I saw that.â You nodded.
âAnd it didnât scare you?â Eddie raised a brow, poking at the devil on his chest. âThis guy?â
You were confused, glancing at everyone around the table. âNo? I mean, itâs mostly why I came over here. I havenât ever heard of that club before.â
âThatâs not surprising,â He popped his chair back down, smiling at your confusion. âEver heard of dnd? Dungeons and Dragons?â
âNo, I donât think so.â You answered.
He nodded. âI figured not. Sweet little girl like you wouldnât mix herself with the likes of such.â
It almost disappointed him, because heâd already placed you up among the crowd, with the preppyâs and cheerleaders.
âWell, are you going to tell me what it is?â You said softly, watching as his eyes grew hopeful.
âItâs a fantasy role playing game!â Dustin intervened, moving around the table to sit beside you, ignoring the way Eddie grew annoyed. âThereâs wizards and warlocks, druids and rogues. And thereâs a dice you roll that determines what happens to your character!â
You sat and listened as he listed the game, trying to collect every piece of information he gave you. Eddie wanted to send him to the moon. âAre there elves?â You tried to contribute.
Now that, got Eddieâs attention, at the mere fact you were at least somewhat interested.
âYeah, thereâs elves.â He beat dustin to the punchline, scooting upward as he leaned closer to you. âReally, you can be anything you want to be.â
âWhat about princessâs?â You chuckled, causing everyone else to do so. Eddie snickered, looking down as he nodded. âSure thing.â
âWell, it sounds fun.â You shrugged your shoulder. âI donât get why youâre made fun of for liking a cool game. Iâd play if I knew how.â You said the last part mostly to yourself, but the metalheadâs interest was peaked.
He glanced at his sheep, having silent communication about the decision. Girls did not play dungeons and dragons. Girls did not hang out with hellfire club. Girls did not make Eddie Munsons heart soar, only his sweet guitar did.
âYou could play with us, if you wanted.â Eddie said, resting his chin against his fist, speaking cautiously. âWeâre actually one man short tonight. We play right here at the school.â
His eyes bore into yours, and it gave you a moment to actually take in his appearance. His eyes were beautiful, big and full of excitement. His hair was wild and free, his body adorned in shiny jewelry. He looked the part of an outcast, but the invitation was not something you wanted to pass up.
âIâd need you to teach me.â You smiled awkwardly.
âAnd Iâm,â He leaned in closer, smirking at you mischievously. âA very good teacher.â
The bell rang across the cafeteria, but his eyes remained non yours. You breathed out in excitement, looking at everyoneâs shocked faces. âWell, I guess Iâll see you gentlemen tonight then.â You stood, Eddie smirking as he followed form.
âSee you then, princess.â He shouted, and you giggled as you waved them goodbye.
He crossed his arms, kicking back into his chair as he watched you walk out of the room. He finally looked to his friends. âWhat?â He noticed their stares.
âThatâs not fair, Eddie!â Dustin complained. âI wanted to invite her! I called dibs!â
âNo, you didnât.â Eddie snorted, standing up. âBesides, this oneâs special, boys.â He found you again, staring at your back.
âWhy?â Mike groaned.
He swallowed at your bouncing curls, and he knew you were going to disrupt his simple little life. âI think Iâm in love.â
