I don't know anything about script writing and I'm not a film major, so don't be too critical of the form, it's just for fun :D
And please let me know if you have any suggestions (or corrections?), I'll gladly add them!
This AU was suggested to me by @pongokyuki while back.
Just couldnāt wrap my head around it till now.
The idea is that hyphema,
The condition that makes 2Dās eye black like this
would cause him to go blind in real life.
This would be one of those Murdocās Personal Hell AU.
What do you guys think?
I just really love how Reki was the one who talks to Miya after he lost to Langa because in addition to Miya getting the support he needs after living without friends for so long, we also really get to see the kind of big brother Reki is, plus the kindhearted and protective energy in that scene is just so sweet
Miya is in his own head after the beef, and getting more upset with things, and Reki flicks him in the face to bring him out of it and have a heart to heart with him that basically refutes everything negative heād been thinking for the last who knows how long. Then, after Miyaās brought to tears by Rekiās words and Langaās appreciation and tries to hide it, Reki goes full big brother mode on him, squishing his face and making silly sounds to get him to smile
(which you just know he did to his younger sister and what he currently does to his littlest twin sisters when theyāre upset, and all thatās missing is a gentle āI wonāt stop until I see that smile!ā).
Then Reki activates his protective big brother mode with zero hesitation as soon as Adam says Miya has nothing left. When Miya deflates, Reki immediately notices, and his eyes shift from the matador to him as he checks on him to see that yeah, Miya definitely isnāt okay after that disrespectful comment.
It just shows how much Reki cares about his friends and how protecting Miya (who in such a short time is arguably considered to be at little brother status at that point) isnāt even a question for himāitās just second nature and a given.
He immediately tells Adam to apologize and then challenges him to a beef to get Miyaās apology. It was already bad enough that Miya lost but just when he managed to get him to smile, here comes an adultāone of the prominent S members, for that matterācrushing him by telling him he had nothing left. And Reki does what he can to help because he doesnāt want anyone making a kid feel bad by basically calling them worthless, especially his new little brother.
Iām rambling but I really appreciate how Reki goes from arguing with Miya to protecting him at all costs like a true big brother.
Ugh that is like the best nickname Lance has ever had for him hands down.
Part 2 | Part 1
This scene hits so hard when you look back on it.
If you think about this scene on a deeper context, it relates to coming out, accepting who you are.
Amityās confession here emphasizes on the fear and confusion you experience.
Emphasizes on the battle between your own identity and societal/familial expectations.
Emphasizes on how the world sucks, the inequality, and injustice, and reminds you that youāre a minority, How itās not that easy for you. Like it is for heterosexuals.
Thereās all these fearsome consequences and possibilities in your head thatās weighing you down. Weighing you down from accepting yourself.Ā
And then Em says something so simple, something that makes it sound so easy.Ā
āIs it so bad? You werenāt happy before.ā
And it hits you. How easy it is.Ā
Under all the fears, expectations and anxieties, itās happiness that lays.
What you are, what this is, what you want, although foreign to the world, is the source to your happiness.
āIs it so bad?ā
No, itās not. The world makes it bad.
Girls liking girls is not bad. Boys liking boys isnāt bad. Identifying as a different gender isnāt bad. Transitioning between genders isnāt bad.Ā
Different, but not bad.
āItās not objectiveā.
āIt doesnāt work.ā
āIs it really worth it?ā
Anything is worth it when it comes to happiness. Anything is worth it when it comes to being able to stop repressing, wearing a facade, and pretending to be someone youāre not just to appeal to societal and familial expectations.
Under the name of happiness, objectiveness is weak.
Under the name of happiness, homophobia is weak.Ā
No amount of hate, objective expectations and societal standards should be able to compete with love and happiness.Ā
And at the end of the day, you know what you want in the future. A basic human need.
Not respect or stability. Not being able to meet up with otherās expectations.
What you want is happiness.
And the first step to that is accepting yourself even with all the fear and confusion.
Why?
Because it makes you happy.
I donāt think an inconsequential passing reference to a husband that was immediately fridged upon introduction in the last season qualifies, Netflix.
Replace it with She-ra (which for god knows what reason didnāt make it on the list), then weāll talk.
Imagine writing a boyfriend so shit that everyone thinks he's a repressed gay. That would honestly be impressive if it wasn't so damn frustrating.

From this post where 2D won an ugly sweater contest. The way I see it, 2D would win this at some X-mas party of some sort and regardless of what kind of party it is Murdoc would get sloshed. Poor old man wouldnāt even know wtf he was looking at. You know heās an alcoholic though because he never spilled his drink.
Yāall Reki Kyan.
He is?? Reki is *chefs kiss*
I wrote really sloppy so I copied it right below:
"For the last time Micheal, our pronouns are THEY/THEM; not because we're nonbinary but because we're literally FIVE MFs!!!"
