I make many conscious decisions to prevent exactly this from happening (any more than it has to.) When I play out what was one of his quirks, and it isn't required for me to keep doing that, I just pluck that habit, mannerism, even certain vocabulary out from the root. There are ways around it. I don't sear him into every concept. Most of the time, though, when it happens, it shows that I only went as far as he taught me. There are better things out there to do.
