No, your oc isn't too cringe or a Mary sue. Yes, it's completely fine that it looks similar to your other ocs. Yes it's completely fine that it looks similar to a Canon character design. No it's not uncreative. No the design isn't shitty. No the backstory doesn't have to make perfect sense or be all figured out. Yes it can be self indulgent or unrealistic or overly sappy. No you don't draw your favorite character too much. Yes you can flip flop between developing whatever characters you want. No you don't have to keep the parts of your character that you don't like or that make you uncomfortable just for the sake of consistency, realism or whatever else

At the end of the day our favorite ships don’t exists in real life and can’t do anything that Mashima don’t write. It’s okay to not agree with every ship but pretending that Gray wouldn’t be with Juvia if he wasn’t forced is silly. They are characters written by an author who controls their destiny at the end of the day! That is all!
Also Japan’s political correctness is not other countries political correctness. If something bothers you so badly that you can’t enjoy the series anymore, it’s time to move on.

A New Life
It was new, all of it.
They had lost the Grand Magic Games for the first time, Jiemma was gone, Lady Minerva was gone, the old Sabertooth was gone.
He sat in the large throne that once belonged to Jiemma, it was much too big for him and he worried. He looked at his guild mates, his friends. Many members had left after they learned that Sting wanted Sabertooth to change and most of the members who remained had very little faith.
He began to speak.
“Our guild aims to stun the heavens, row the land beneath us, silence the raging seas. That is the Sabertooth way.” His voice came out clearly and with power, “From now on not only will this guild remain powerful, we will grow more powerful with allies and friendships. If you can’t accept the changes that will be happening to this guild I recommend you leave now.” His eyes scanned the room, no one turned to the exit, “You may all continue with your days.”
After everyone left Rogue approached Sting with the exceeds. Sting let out a long sigh and shook his head.
“I don’t know if I’ll be able to do this, man. So many people have already left. It’s gonna be a massive change and I don’t think people will like it.”
“Cheer up Sting, if they don’t like it they can leave. We’re gonna be stronger than ever with you as our leader!” His red exceed crossed his arms in triumph,
“Lectors right. Allies will only benefit us.” Red eyes met blue and Rogue gave a gentle smile. Sting gladly returned it and stood up stretching his back.
“I’ve got to do paperwork. You three want to help?” Sting began to walk to the steps that lead to his office but stopped to look at his friends responses. After a second of contemplation the trio walked up to Sting and they all went to his office.

I saw someone post about their head cannon that Sting is autistic and I would like to add onto that by saying he always wears gloves so he doesn’t get overstimulated.
I love Gajevy but imagine a man abusing you to the point of you being hospitalized and hanging you from a tree just for him to redeem himself for a couple of years and you two end up together? You can’t because it’s all fucking fiction and make-believe so why is everybody making a big deal about Juvia following Gray a couple times and fantasizing about him? It’s. Not. Fucking. Real. Its exaggeration for a fucking reason.
I have a head cannon that Sting is lactose intolerant but still drinks milk and eats butter and cheese because they’re white and he causes himself so much pain but still does it cuz ‘yolo’. This head cannon came to me because I’m pretty sure Michael Jones (Sting’s English VA) is lactose intolerant.

guys i just realized some fucked up shit.
i mean i always hated the “yukino slaps sting” part in alaverez but i just realized it’s even worse than i thought.
it’s canon that jiemma was an abusive guild master. he beat people when they failed.
think about this scene. sting is SOBBING because he feels like he failed his guild. what happens next? a slap to the face!
because clearly, slapping someone who probably has ptsd from being abused will help them “realize they were wrong”. like that’s a load of bullshit. thanks mashima for portraying abuse survivors in such a good way! : )))
tldr: yukino slapping sting after he “fails” reminds him of being beat by jiemma and it’s really fucked up.
I’m sick of fairy tail ‘fans’ acting like this isn’t funny. It’s been an ongoing joke throughout the whole series that people break into Lucy’s house. If you have a problem with it now you better have had a problem with it when Natsu did it in one of the first episodes.

The way Natsu was portrayed by not knowing what a library is annoyed me as much as anyone else. He’s literally been in them before. Because of this I think we should all believe that when Lucy rewrote the book she forgot to add that he knows what a library is, it’s for all of our well-being’s.
How do the exceeds shower? Do they use normal showers or do the dragon slayers bathe them in the sink?
