dante isn't stupid guys.. yea he does fool around a lot prob to feel/appear more confident/unfazed or to cope with emotions or whatever but...
he's actually a quick thinker (you can see that in battles), and he easily figures out what's going on and who's his enemy (uhh we just ignore how he didn't recognize nelo angelo for so long... he probably couldn't believe his brother could be alive) and he picks up on new battle styles very fast (altho well its probably some demon power stuff but whatever), and he kinda acts almost like a pi in some arcs?
also most of the lines that appear when you interact with objects (at least in dmc1 and dmc3 for what i've experienced personally) look like that's his thoughts! and he's quite calm and sensible on the inside, and he also seems interested in symbolic meanings of all the statues and pictures and stuff (kinda reminds me of how vergil/v is interested in poetry), and he also seems interested in books/logs in the castle and he even flips through them to figure out what this rooms purpose was
so uhh... that was a lot of barely coherent thoughts my conscience is mildly decaying but what i wanted to say plss dante is NOT dumb he's acting silly and maybe he's a bit weird/eccentric at times, esp when interacting with others but he's not stupid (or at least i think so) !!
i just saw people who portray him totally braindead and uhhh 🤕 well ig its fine its just jokes i do sometimes joke about how he's silly too
Queued right up for it
Visual recreation of the nightmare I had last night. The longer we made eye contact the more nauseous I felt.
whenever i talk to moots i have to physically restrain myself for talking like i do with my irl friends because we speak fucking brain rot.
guys if i say what the fart or call u alpha ignore it please please please please plea
[spoilers] yes lisa frankenstein is a wonderful, campy, cute good-fo-her adaptation for all the austen/shelley/bronte-loving weird girlies but what I keep thinking about is how it's also a meditation on how society doesn't want/ doesn't want to deal with female trauma (and weird girls). the way lisa's (enfuriatingly) deabeat dad barely looks at lisa but embraces taffy (who is 'successfully' a girl: happy, pretty, and not posing problems for anyone), the way those neighbours literally ignore lisa as she is chased by an intruder (who is literally a parallel to the axe murderer that killed her mom) - lisa's trauma is seen as some kind of wilful refusal to fit into the status quo and even makes her the target of further (gleeful) abuse by her stepmom (who threatens to literally lock her away for being 'weird'). and it's not just a lisa thing; the scene that struck me was taffy, covered in blood, crying, traumatised, and that stranger who looks and then ignores her. taffy as a popular girl and cheerleader and daddy's darling is always looked at favourably, alsways an object of positive attention-- right up until she has a problem. anyway and then something something about lisa finding companionship in another other and her choosing (un)death as a radical escape from and rejection of this status quo that cannot/ doesn't want to accomodate her and many more thoughts but that's all for now thank you
shoutout to everyone who wants to infodump but cant string together coherent thoughts to form sentences and instead just look at you like this
